A question for Catholics with respect to Mary?
On TV today I heard a priest named Mary, ever virgin. " What does this mean? Are you saying that she always has been and is a virgin? If so, he (and the Roman Catholic Church) is in contradiction with Scripture and the teaching of false doctrine. The Bible is explicit that Jesus had brothers and sisters. See 1 Cor. 9 and Matthew 13:55.
- Why do Catholics worship the Virgin Mary?
- Catholics … Do you accept that Mary remained a virgin permanent?
- A question for Catholics and Orthodox (preferably someone with theological training in one of these religions)?
- Not trying to pick As Catholics, I have a sincere commitment? Why do Catholics believe Mary remained a virgin?
- Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus Christ. Why do Catholics say it is "always a virgin"

The Catholic Church does not base its doctrine on the teachings of the Bible. Only provided the names of God and of Jesus to build his empire.
As you noted, the Bible says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus through what we now know as the transplantation of embryos. Following her pregnancy, she and Joseph were married, had several children, and lives his life like any other mortal who gave their lives for God. (Well, it was a little more than this)
Yes, the Catholic Church against almost all the scriptures of their blasphemous turn screws. Does not represent the true God or Jesus Christ, and never has.
Wake up world, you have lied.
Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength and my fortress,
my refuge in the day of trouble, you are the nations of the ends of the earth and say: "Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, the things of value in which there is no benefit.
Priest that sounds bad.
You need to read your Bible a little closer. The brothers of Jesus are identified by name, and then makes explicit reference to the children of Mary, wife of Cleophas. Were his cousins, his brothers did not.
If you give me an hour or so, I will be happy to provide you with references.
And yes, it means that Mary remained a virgin after the birth of Christ. What is long-standing doctrine of the Church, and was repeatedly stated by the Fathers of the Church.
First, there is no Greek equivalent for the word "cousin." In Koinè, "cousin" was written as either "syngenes (any relative, translated as" relative ") or" Adelphe "(translated as" brother "). Therefore, there is no reason to suppose that the "brothers" of Jesus were first cousins.
The brothers of Jesus are identified in Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3, and (partially) Galatians 1:19: "Is not this the carpenter's son? not his mother called Mary? and his brothers, James and Mr Joses, and Simon and Judas? "" Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Mr Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And it offended him. "" But other of the apostles who saw none, save James the Lord's brother. "
We see in these verses that the brothers of Jesus are identified as James (or Jacob), Mr Joses (or Joseph), Simon and Judas (Judas or Judah).
There is now a man identified as Cleopas. His name in Aramaic is Cleophas (translated as "Cleophas" or "Cleophas" in the King James), or in Hebrew Cheleph. Both forms meant "Exchanges." In its Greek form, his name is Alfeo ( "Changes"). His wife is named Mary. Was one of two men who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus after the resurrection (Luke 24:18).
And then there is Mary, the wife of Cleophas. She was the aunt of Jesus, as stated in John 19:25: "Now it was the cross of Jesus his mother and sister of his mother, Mary, the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene." According to church tradition, was the sister of Joseph (and half-sister Mary, but that is outside the scope of this question).
Now, with all terms, let's look at the "brothers" of Jesus were. We have James, Mr Joses, Jude / Judas / Judah, and Simon.
Matthew 10:3, Mark 3:18 and Luke 6:15 tells us that Alfeo / Cleopas and his wife Mary, Jesus' aunt, had a son named James (cousin of Jesus): "Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas, and Matthew the publican, James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddeus. "And Andrew and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas and James, the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus and Simon the Canaanite … "
Luke 6:16 and Acts 1:13 tells us that James had a brother named Judas, who was also the son of Cleophas and Mary, and the cousin of Jesus: "And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also is the traitor. "And when it happens, happened in a superior room, where both Peter and James and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zealots, and Judas the brother of James. "
Judas also identifies himself as the brother of James in this Jude 1:1 "Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, who are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ and asked. .. "
Mary, wife of Cleopas, Jesus' aunt, mother of James and Judas, also had another son named Mr Joses (another cousin of Jesus). We know that she was present at the crucifixion, which John identified as the wife of Cleophas aunt and Jesus (John 19:25). We know from Mark 16:1 and Luke 24:10 which was the mother of James: "And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that might come and anoint him "." It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna and Mary the mother of James, and other women who were with them, he said these things to the apostles. "And we know from Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15: 40, who was the mother of Mr Joses" Among which was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Mr Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. " "There were also women looking at far: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary, the mother of James the less and Mr Joses, and Salome."
To summarize:
Jesus had an aunt named Maria and a guy named Cleopas. There were at least three cousins named James, Mr Joses and Judas, the sons of Cleophas and Mary. We know that the cousins are called 'adelphoi' in Greek. And we know that Jesus had four adelphoi identified as Santiago, Mr Joses, Judas and Simon. Now, we must assume that there are two sisters named Mary, both of whom had sons named James, Mr Joses and Judas? It stretches credibility.
We know that Jesus was the first born (applied to a single title, as well as children with siblings). Joseph was already dead when Jesus was crucified. Thus, according to Jewish law, the next oldest brother was responsible for the care of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Yet, Jesus in his hands to John, son of Zebedee: "When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, said his mother, Woman, behold your son! Then he said to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her into her own home (John 19:26-27). "
Which have been cousins or something …….
Firstly, I am not Catholic, but the deed that gave step could mean brothers and sisters from a previous marriage of Joseph. We do not any of us can not know whether Mary remained a virgin or not. Probably not.
Mary would have no reason to remain a virgin. Mary having sex with her husband would not be a sin to God. Mary in any way may be the expiation for our sins or intercessor to God. To put it a different gospel which God gave us. Humans did this. Not God.
Only Jesus can be our sacrifice, because He is God in the flesh. Mary was a good person, which arises from other human beings, whom God chose her son naked. There is only one who is without sin and that is Jesus.
Very interesting responses —
Utuk states that Adelphe half brother, who is a Greek word for another kind of relative (and cousin), but the author of the book chosen word misleading?
How old was Mary, or even the author of the book refers to follow Jesus as the firstborn, which allegedly would not have other children?
Ephraim in the Old Testament is also called the first born, but not chronologically first - not her relationship with her prominence or God's favor.
Hmm. Good point.
And it seems that there were "many" brothers and sisters. You know an apple spoils the whole bushel. This virgin is an important facet in the Catholic faith.
It just means that she was a virgin when Christ was born.
And Jesus had brothers and sisters, possibly.
The Catholic Church has preserved for centuries the belief that Mary was a virgin all her life. The quotes contained in the fact to mention the "brothers of the Lord," but remember that you are interpreting the English translations. Using the Semitic scriptures and the words translated as "brother" and "brothers" can also refer to step brothers, cousins, or any male relatives. I understand that in English means "male biological siblings" is a much more flexible in the original language of Scripture.
Some believe that the "brothers" of Jesus of San José are the children from a previous marriage, others believe they were his cousins. Why not believe that his brothers were living? Well for one thing, Luke tells us that Mary made an annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem (Luke 2:41). If everyone in the Bible refers to Jesus were actually brothers Jose Maria and children, she has had at least 4 children, in addition to Jesus, and several daughters in a very short time. Like any mother with several small children will tell you, a pilgrimage to the nearest market is a test - an annual journey of considerable length is quite out of the question.
Moreover, why, when Jesus hung on the cross, He did entrust the care of his mother to John, the beloved disciple? If Jesus had many brothers and sisters, why should it do so? If their interpretation is correct, Mary had several children to care for her. Why involve all of John? It makes no sense unless there were no other siblings to care for Mary after Jesus' death.
Besides these main points of the logistics, there are several tracks in the original language of Scripture. These are the main places where the grammar is incorrect if the author refers to a mother of several children. I will not go into them here, but I direct you to the list of fonts in the section of a more complete discussion of this issue.
In the final analysis, the Bible does not say definitively whether Mary and Joseph had no children of their own. If you only read the text in English, certainly seems so. However, faithful study of biblical texts in their original languages, has led the Catholic theologians to a different conclusion.
James was the son of Mary, wife of Cleophas, who was the sister of the Virgin Mary. He was the cousin of Jesus. There was no word for cousin in that language.

At least we read before making accusations against us.
You must have misunderstood him.
'Utuk "is absolutely correct. Brothers and sisters at that time, were in our time we call friends.
And "yes" of Mary has been and always and forever is a Virgin —
: "The Virgin Mary." The only!
Have you ever heard or read someone else's name or label and special days in the calendar which was held in high esteem for that person?
