Are you without sin?

Catholicism does not teach one to be free from sin (repentance of Catholics through the confession) before they can receive the Blessed Sacrament?

  1. fearless flirt says:

They must be free from mortal sin to receive Holy Eucharist.

  2. Gadfly says:

    I am Catholic.
The RC Church must be free of "deadly" sin is sin that you cut off the partnership with God. Unrepented good examples are adultery, fornication, abortion or other acts of murder. These sins must be confessed to a priest before receiving Communion.
Indeed, precious few people come Communion are completely free of sin. We come to Communion in part to be cleansed of the stain of sin, partly to be united with God and other Christians.

  3. Rebecca says:

No, I mean I'm perfect, and the Bible says that nobody is or ever will be perfect until they get to heaven (if). No, I am not sinless, but because I am a Christian who has put my trust in the Holy Spirit, when God looks at me, he does not see all the nasty things I've done, because I've been forgiven and born again!

I think I am the opposite of that:
Lust: I do my boyfriend this morning
Gluttony: I stuffed full of ice cream for lunch
Greed: I'm stingy as can be
Sloth: I'm the laziest person ever known
Envy: yo all my hidden room sh! No
      Ira: I hate you
Pride: I just love the way I am

Taking into account the concept of oneself to be free from something that does not really exist, is an ironic one.

to an act of contrition on the way to the Communion, free of mortal sin, is not "without sin" which is absurd, is that, like fat free?

Yes, that's why you supposed to go to confession before having communion.
In fact, if you are hard pushed to find many that do.
Last time I was in the confession was in August 1992.
