As a Catholic, the Vatican is more concerned about their welfare or yours?
Well, I do not consider myself a Catholic, but was raised as one. Therefore, as an ex-Catholic, I can say with all sincerity that the Vatican does not worry about the preservation of itself than it does for our welfare. The Catholic Church, after all, worked with the Fascist Italy and, by extension, the Nazi Germany during World War II, to avoid their own demise of these despotic regimes. It would be a real moral institution to do this? Individual were priests, bishops, devout Catholics and those who provided shelter for Jews, and they should be respected for that, but the Vatican's official position is to cooperate with Hitler and Mussoulini and not to openly dissent. Therefore, the Catholic Church chose politics over what is moral.
The Vatican insists this behavior today. Pope continually preaches about the sin of condom use, knowing that demonize contraception is leading to massive death tolls in the third world countries due to sexually transmitted diseases. This is ethically responsible, or simply a way for the Catholic Church to ensure that you have a large crop of submissive followers, who blindly follow them because of their poverty and despair, which is induced by being perpetually enslaved by disease and uncontrolled reproduction?
The Catholic hierarchy, along with the Protestant fundamentalists, opposed to stem cell research, which in fact may benefit more lives, and that this research embryos would be destroyed. A world free of disease and illness - a reality that unfettered stem cell research could provide - would be a world less dependent on tax evasion that the Catholic Church is positioned to offer.
There are many other examples that could be argued that demonstrates that the Vatican is actually self serving as the most ruthless corporation. I think the few examples I have written above is enough to make the case. I Liken the Catholic Church to a criminal court you and then gives you a bandage, and then asks you which is commendable to offer to repair an injury he had in the creation of a hand.

Always yours.
The Vatican is a business and is more concerned with their bottom line, and then yours. If they wanted, the Vatican could feed the entire world more than ten times. They have more money then the GDP of many countries around the world.
The Vatican is concerned about the welfare of all mankind.
Those of the Holy See and the Catholic Church in general, are concerned about the welfare of all people, not just Catholics.
The Vatican is concerned about the welfare of all humanity as its mission of Christ to the world.
In Christ
Fr Joseph
The Holy See refers to the souls of the entire world. Peter was told to protect and feed his flock of Christ. The Pope is still doing so.
The Vatican is to us, not us to the Vatican. The Vatican knows this and acts accordingly.
The Pope is the head of the Church on earth.
The Vatican (as he puts it) is your curiosity, your employees that help in governing the universal Church.
The Vatican has genocidal killed more people than any group in the history of the world. Always only care about themselves. Catholicism is not Christianity.
a true story
I was a Guardia Palatina
Perhaps she never knew that the Pope has an army. But it is true. For nine years I have served in the Vatican as a military member of the Palatine Guard of Honor.
Of course, the Pope is not a regular army, as used for potatoes. Pope Julius II in the early sixteenth century assume personal command of his army and lead the battle. In addition, the Roman Catholic Church in the past had military religious orders. Of these, The Catholic Encyclopedia says: "These orders exceeded that cohesion is the ideal of every military organization, the most famous soldiers collected the bodies known to history." -1911, Vol X, page 307.
So it really should not surprise anyone that today's State of the Vatican would also have a militia.
Recent Military Organization
Of the four armed forces that the Vatican has maintained in recent years, the Swiss Guard is probably best known. Since 1505, when Pope Julius II made a treaty with the Swiss to supply 250 men as his bodyguards, a corps of Swiss soldiers have assisted the pope. In August 1959, Pope John XXIII body reorganized to include a number of staff, two percussionists, a chaplain, and seventy guards.
Noble Guard had apparently once more prestige, as the Catholic Encyclopedia called it "the most distinguished body of the papal military service." Was formed in 1801. The Pope and the gendarmes Palatine Guard completed the body of Pope defense.
The Palatine Guard of Honor was created in 1850 by Pope Pius XI. Decreed that the two bodies of militia be united into one body under the new name. Before 1870, the Palatine Guard was assigned to military operations in war, but their functions were largely ceremonial.
From 1968 to 1971, however, the Noble Guard, the Palatine Guard and the Gendarmerie were dissolved. Thus, the Swiss Guard remains alone in the Vatican military.
Why do you want to Join
My father had been a member of the Palatine Guard of about thirty years, a position that he and my mother were very proud. For what you want to continue the family tradition. But there were other reasons that I wanted to participate.
I had moved away from religion in my teens, being deeply influenced by the developments that had received training in school. Therefore considered that were in close contact with the most prominent religious leaders in the world, including the Pope, my faith in God can be strengthened.
Also, I must admit, another reason for wanting to join is the esteem and glamor associated with the position. As one of the Guardia Palatina one person can meet many famous people and enjoy a place of major religious significance.
Acceptance
Thus, in 1960 at the age of eighteen years, I have submitted my application for admission to the Palatine Guard. After being favorably recommended by my priest, I was called for a personal interview.
I well remember the anxiety I felt as I approached the imposing buildings of the Vatican. I entered the reception hall and in front of me a long table. Behind Saturday Corps Commander, Colonel Chaplain and four others. On one side of the room hang the portraits of ten potatoes, and next to each of them a crumpled flag in memory of the battles.
First I asked some personal questions. Then the chaplain asked me to recite some Catholic prayers, like the Apostles Creed, Act of Faith and Hope Act. Having failed to pay much attention to religious instruction, I feared that my superficial knowledge was observed. But my worries proved unfounded, as the interview was only a formality. About a month later, was admitted to the Palatine Guard.
Education & Clothing
After a brief religious service, my training began with an hour of class on religion. Then, every Thursday I attended a course of religious instruction. I expected this to help me grow in knowledge of God and that my doubts about its existence would be removed. But it was not to be. In fact, the Church dogma taught us that only increased my doubts.
However, I did enjoy the military training. Over time, I allowed the military uniform of the Guardia Palatina impressive. It included a black jacket, blue pants made of soft leather young beaver, a white belt, black shoes and a black hard hat with visor and a plume of red feathers. Other accessories include a variety of thick cables of gold, gold epaulets and eye color that tourists who try to start during the parades.
In the service of Pope
The Pope will hold hearings with the visitors in the throne room, or in St. Peter's Basilica. In general, I was assigned a prelude to the service, being stationed at the entrance to the room where the Pope receives his guests. The visitor must be accompanied by a house master or lackey, and the time they spent in front of us would be easy to care. In particular, remember two high-level visits.
One of them was a Buddhist monk dressed in a yellow robe. He visited Pope Paul VI during the Second Vatican Council to speak for peace in Vietnam. The visit caused a sensation because, at the time, newspaper stories about Buddhist monks suicide by burning were common.
The other was the visit of Queen Elizabeth of England, which is recognized not only as a political leader but also as head of the Anglican Church of England. According to Vatican protocol, the queen, and each person in his entourage, was accompanied by a representative of the papal court. Upon arriving for the Pope, normally the host of attendant suggested that the guest kiss the ring when the pope is reaching out. Therefore, the queen bowed and kissed the hand of the pontiff, the head of the Anglican Church to bow the head of the Roman Catholic Church, quite successful diplomatic maneuvering by the papal court!
Other memories I have of the live shows, when the Palatine Guard, preceded by the sound of trumpets imperial enter St. Peter's Square. For example, on June 2 was the annual celebration in honor of the Italian army, during which the pontiff gave the solemn blessing Urbi et Orbi.
He also served in the guard of honor for many official visits of heads of states, including those of President de Gaulle of France, King Hussein of Jordan, President Sukarno of Indonesia and the Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. I served also at the entrance of Pope John XXIII's death chamber in June 1963 and shortly after the election of Pope Paul VI.
Pomp and ceremony
On Wednesday morning the Pope will hold a public hearing in the throne room with people who have made appointments in advance to see him and receive his blessing. It was truly an impressive spectacle when the Pope appears with his entourage for these occasions.
The Pope made his entrance seated on a throne in a kind of platform that was brought by his servants. These would be followed by a large entourage of colorful and beautifully dressed and attending church. They had titles like Cavalier Cape and the Sword, Knights of the Secret Servant and Master of the House. Included also in the procession were the commanders and officers of the various army corps of the Vatican.
Almost unbelievable scenes of every kind was carried out on these occasions. For example, one can see a woman screaming and tearing your hair in the growth of a crucifix as the pope passed by, protected behind wooden furniture, railings. Hysterical some people had to be removed by force. Babies were held on high to touch the Pope.
Also extended to the results of the Pope are holding hands or a sheet of letter he had written about it some appeal. And dignitaries, near the church of the pope would accept these portable throne in a condescending way. But there were also people laughed, others cried, while others remained indifferent. Hymns were sung, and waved handkerchiefs.
Provided that these public hearings were held in St. Peter's Basilica the scene was even more surprising. The success raised at the entrance of the Pope followed him like a wave of the sea that moves along. However, in recent years I have noticed a decline in visitor numbers.
Coronation of Pope
Bridging, however, the pomp and splendor of the papal audience was the coronation of the Pope. "Greatness," the witness said, "will never be forgotten." I was there at the coronation of Pope Paul VI on June 30, 1963, and has been a remarkable event in my career as a Guardia Palatina. Present were the heads of state, ministers, ambassadors, military and political dignitaries, journalists and representatives of Protestant and Catholics throughout the world.
It seemed unreal, almost all the extravagance, precious stones, his face bright clothing of the participants, especially the Pope on his throne carried triumphantly, fans moving slowly ostrich feathers on it, music, ceremony. The greatness beggars description. The crowning of the old Byzantine Emperors, after which are the papal coronations model certainly could not have been more ostentatious.
Then the entrance was magnificent throughout the papal court in great pomp, with the Palatine Guard of heading the procession. The slow movement of the procession lasted nearly an hour in a brightly colored carousel, like a chorus of young voices in the line of movement of hundreds of cardinals and bishops. Finally Pope Paul VI was crowned with a splendid helmet mounted with precious stones, a symbol of regal power under supposedly representing Christ on earth.
But I wondered: Is it really God's will that his son has a representative on earth? All this pomp is appropriate? Christ did not approve?
