Unless you have formally renounced their membership in the Catholic Church, which would be considered a valid (non-practicing) Catholic. If you want your name removed from the register, send a letter to that effect to the parish where they were baptized and confirmed. And the term "agnostic-atheist" sounds like a kind of two Beastie talking heads from both mouths. I would think that he is certain there is no God (atheism), or uncertain of its existence (agnostic.) I'm not sure how you can keep the two views at once.

Technically, once a Catholic always a Catholic. They welcome you back with open arms if they desire to return. IJR was baptized but raised RUSSIAN ORTHODOX BYZANTINE CATHOLIC. IJR asked a Russian Orthodox priest, is still considering whether IJR orthodox, and was told yes, but not practicing, and IJR celebrated again with a mere declaration of Orthodox believers. A Byzantine Preist IJR said basically the same, but said it was a Cathoic IJR IJR because he made his First Communion as a Catholic and therefore was welcomed back with open arms with a statement of the Catholic faith and creates a valid. IJR said Thanks for the info, but no, thanks. An agnostic in the sense of the word, it is impossible to tell / show time God exists or not. AGNOSTIC-an atheist is the belief that God does not exist while a theist-AGNOSTIC leaves the possibility open. Both views are valid.

1) Your friend is wrong. Sounds like you have a "once saved always saved" mentality. 2) "agnostic-atheist" is redundant. Atheism is the lack of belief in a deity. Agnosticism is the insistence that we do not know, who is also a lack of belief. Hence, agnostics are atheists who insist we know why a lack of belief.

1. If you consider yourself an atheist, it's probably an atheist. It may be a Catholic in official books, even if you do not believe in God, but they really do not make you a Catholic. 2. An agnostic atheist is someone who is not sure whether god (s) exists or not, but leans a bit closer to God (s) for not existing.

The Catholic Church views to anyone who has been baptized as a Catholic. If you are no longer a practicing Catholic, it is called lapsed Catholic. Atheist-agnostic means you believe that there is no God but do not claim definitive knowledge of this. Many atheists fall into this category.

1) That sounds like what you are saying, but I do not think that's true at all. I was raised Methodist, but I'm certainly not now. 2) You are one or the other. Agnostics say they do not know, atheists say there is no god.

It's baloney. The term agnostic-atheist is redundant since all agnostics are a subset of atheists. A person can be a believer or not. If you're not sure, I do not think and therefore an atheist.

No you are not a Christian, you will and have decided to deny Christ (God) and His Church. You are an atheist. Is a theist who believes in God. Agnostic-I do not know if there is one God.
