I was a Catholic most of my life, but now I am an atheist. I think answer B is what our church believes. I went to Catholic school and was always taught that the Eucharist is literally the flesh of Christ, while retaining the physical properties of bread. Same with wine.

They are taught the RC B. Richard Hooker, Anglican theologian at 17? century, developed the idea of "Receptionism", which is the C (kind of). Many Anglicans go with that, although A and B are in agreement with many also. Most Protestant denominations teach D.

B The qualities remain the same, external appearance, but the substance is changed. See Aristotle. And no offense to everyone, but it is a ridiculous doctrine.

B-his Christ and nothing else. " 'Truly, truly, I say unto you, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the desert and died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any one eats of this bread will live forever, and the bread that I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh. "The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying:" How can this man give us his flesh to eat? "Then Jesus said to them," Truly, truly, I say, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have in life, and who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is drink indeed "(John 6:47-55). Ignatius of Antioch: "I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, which was the seed of David, and I want to drink his blood, which is love incorruptible "(Letter to the Romans 7:3 [AD 110]). "Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ who has come to us and see how their views are contrary to the mind of God .... They abstain from the Eucharist and prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, which flesh suffered for our sins and the Father in his goodness raised again. Those who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes "(Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6 :2-7: 1 [AD 110]). Justin Martyr: "We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is allowed to participate in it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and has been washed in the washing machine is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [ie, has received baptism] and what it is to live as Christ commanded. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these, but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and yet flesh and blood for our salvation, as well as taught us, the food has been done in the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set by him and by the change in our blood and flesh is nourished, is the flesh and blood of that incarnated Jesus "(First Apology 66 [AD 151]).
