All sins not only to Catholics, sometimes juvenile offenders, due to our own will, or most important, but in retrospect we can see that in a bad state for what they seek God's forgiveness and guidance on how not to do it again . Why is it hypocritical? Do not you apologize when you do something wrong? We do that in Confession.
Pray the Rosary and receive the sacraments

Well, I'm not Catholic, but I hazard to say that it is now in the minority. You probably are not the only one who thinks it's hypocritical, but is unlikely.
Who is more hypocritical - the person who admits they have done something wrong and attempts to amend, or the person tries to hide his wicked and portray your self as righteous?

  3. Belladon says:

The majority of Catholics go to confession a few times a year or once a year. It's not like we are saying, "oh well its journey in the old hall of a nursing home, I only want to go to confession after finishing."
Or is it because the Catholic people must be superhuman and never make mistakes you think this is funny? Everyone makes mistakes. Believe me, it's not fun to do penance and its definitely not the easiest path. Perhaps you should look a little more about Catholic beliefs and see that we do not use a confession so that we can do what they want, without considering the consequences.
So, I guess, if your asking for forgiveness, saying it is wrong and hypocritical … ? And seeing as you are without sin may cast the first stone.

  4. PaulCyp says:

All Christians sin, and all Christians seeking forgiveness. Catholics do so with the intention of Christ, when He instituted the sacrament of Confession of the Holy Spirit pouring out to the apostles, the first priests of his Church, and then telling them that you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them. " Fairly simple.

  5. Ed H says:

If you want to establish a good habit to perform a new act of the will and further develop the good habit of repitition. Confession that helps you make and gives grace. Therefore, the confession will help you to leave any sin habits you have. Who has not said was a lie or a pious thought or angry shouted at children. Are venial, but has yet to be cleaned. That's what makes me the confession. It is not hypocritical to believe that you have a sinful nature, not to solve the sin, but sin. Relapse is common. And if you think that never again, but still do, that is hypocritical. But a Christian should never presume that they have reached such perfection that they are incapable of sin. We are all capable.

  6. Marysia says:

Why is hypoctical? is understanding how you did something wrong and want to talk to someone to help you understand why he did and make sure to try not to do it again?
be a hypocrite is someone who keeps sinning again and again and think that can and will continue to make the confession of rthe same thing over and over again. you have to work on solving the problem - which is when the confession is more satisfactory.

Catholics turn much of the Bible, as kind of atheist ..
In Scripture it says in the book of James
Confess to each other, therefore their judgments and pray for one another,
which could be healed and restored Prayer
A man makes tremendous power available immediately. "
      -James 5:16
Now that does not mean going to a simple man of forgivness, but we must tell our failure to support a close friend in the hope of strengthening and encouragement, and accountability not to do it again.
Catholics turn to be able to listen to all the dirty little secrets that people do.

  8. korban says:

Person on foot or by car, but I do so in order to receive absolution from a priest who was given by Christ through the apostolic tradition Authority to join or lose, why go where no one else should be given more authority to do so?
Right is wrong and hypocritical to confess already are.

  9. SECRET DESTROYER says:

what is hard. One of the things in becoming a Catholic goes to his first confession. I think it was around the age of 9 or 10 when we make our first confession to a priest. Catholics are very good and with the guilt you have. The confession is a way to relieve some of that guilt and make right with God and Jesus.

  10. Raymo says:

Why just the Catholics? Are you unaware that Anglicans and Orthodox also have a private sacrament of confession? None of hypocrisy in admitting their mistakes and I have yet to see someone running for the sacrament.

  11. Denis C says:

Because mistakes [sin] as any other,
      and that is very human.
you say you are hypocritical, and can I ask you this,
Have you ever repeated damage to his love that "… and then saying sorry
then do it all over again … you do.
so it makes you a hypocrite.
My friend who is very human.

  12. imacatho says:

    Question in two parts:
      1. Everyone sins and everyone occasionally needs the forgiveness of God.
      2. Rconciliation
The Catholic Church believes that "Only God forgives sin."
When a penitent person asks God for forgiveness, his (or his) sins are immediately forgiven.
Catholics also believe that when someone sins that not only hurt their relationship with God, but also hurt the whole church, the body of Christ.
Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. " And when he had said this, breathed on them and told them: "Receive the Holy Spirit. Who forgives sins are forgiven, whose sins you retain are retained. " (John 20:21-23)
Several important things are happening all at once here and in the same context:
      • "As the Father has sent me, so I send you." God the Father sent Christ to us for many reasons, one of which was to forgive us our sins, so Christ sends the apostles and their successors, among other things, forgive our sins.
      • Jesus, the Son of God, "breathed" in the Apostles. The only other time in Scripture where God breathes on humanity is found in Genesis 2:7, when God "breathes" divine life in man. When God breathes on man things happen.
      • Then and only then Jesus says: "Receive the Holy Spirit. Who forgives sins are forgiven, whose sins you retain are retained. "
Jesus says this a little different in Matthew 16:19: "To you I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. What bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. "
Oral confession of sins, it is recommended over and over again in both the Old and New Testament:
      • James 5:16
      • Acts 19:18
      • Matthew 3:5-6
      • Mark 1:5
      • 1 Timothy 6:12
      • 1 John 1:9
      • Numbers 5:6-7
      • Nehemiah 9:2
      • Sir 4:26
The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation with a priest ordained in the name of Jesus Christ not only reconciles the sinner to God, but with the whole church, including you and me.
Remember that all sacraments are encounters with God. This sacrament is a healing encounter between God and the penitent.

      With love in Christ.

  13. Pityblue says:

Why humanity needs another flawed human to intervene on our behalf to God.
We are all sinners. We are all equal we have to go to God for repentance that really comes from our heart.
It is through belief in Jesus Christ at Calvary was speaking for us. Not the words of another man.

  14. Sinead xx says:

going to his own confession from her mistakes and ask God for forgivness, it's not as simple a sin, and then run to the confession, people did not commit a sin of thought, while i'l go to confession . I hope this helps

  15. Catholic Defender says:

well, being in the Bible about confessing our sins to the "other" and say what Peter binds on earth shall be bound in heaven and on earth that loses will be loosed in heaven. we follow the scriptures.

  16. GRobit62 says:

Catholics believe that the only way God will hear his repentance is to go and tell your business to a priest. That's why they do it.

  27. Vernon Dozier: Redux says:

Is like shouting "do more," No?
Yes, that seems a cop-to myself. And when you think about it, why a priest wants to know your sins? Well, if you think of religion as a mechanism of low-cost large numbers of people and priests as the agents of that control (reporting directly to the rise of kings, ministers, emperors, etc.) is sense. Priests keep tabs on people, especially when crimes such as treason and rebellion concerned. Think about it. It makes sense, especially if one takes into account how the world has been executed 500-1000 years ago.
