You accuse a person when things are going public - there are many who have not yet brought to public attention. What about those who have been doing this for the past 200 years?
If 1 person, doing wrong is wrong - can make a bowl of soup, but 1 piece of land in the same, you have to throw them away - it becomes useless.
So every family has a black sheep - you can not say that Catholics or priests are evil just because 300 people are doing wrong - but that does not mean that it is an act of forgetting. 1% does not do it right - which I?

You got your facts totally wrong! A 2004 study conducted by the Vatican indicated that more than 4,000 Catholic priests had faced such charges in the last 50 years. Now, I'm not an expert, but I think nobody knows anything about crime statistics, particularly statistics on sex crimes, it is recognized that even the 4000 is probably too low, because sex crimes are reported.
