The Mayans were apparently some of the greatest interpreters of observers and the universe long before there was something like a heliocentric paradigm. The Catholic Church held the geocentric universe, if I could. But how the Maya understood that what we are discovering, and what are the five dollars anyway?
According to Mayan legend (if that is the correct word to use), our planet entered the 4th Sunday in 3114-3113BCE.
The year 3113 BC is a very interesting time to start what today is known as the long story of the calendar. Many believe that Proto-Encke-Oljato miss about a planet, but collided with asteroids meteors resulting in Taurus. All kinds of hell on earth broke loose as a result. The 500-foot wide crater Henbury in the north of central Australia was created for just this event.
Earthquakes and volcanic activity caused by meteroic find the material of the earth to open large geological changes. Massive migration of people took place. One of these migrations took place in Mesoamerica the Olmec began hetitage. And it was this season that the Mayans arrived on the coast of Yucatan from the Hun yecil (drowning of trees). And on 12 August 3113 that the Mayan long count calendar began ending December 21, 2012.
How's that again? How does all this come together? I wish we knew!

Then came up with five "suns", which does not necessarily correspond to the astrological age, but at the end of this fourth world does.
