It used to be Catholic, and when I went to confession was your choice if you want it to be face to face or not. And I think it usually starts the priest. There is this little prayer as you say in the end I think.

First, greet the priest and say, "Bless me father for I have sinned it has been x months / years since my last confession." After saying that his sins, the priest would ask that in some detail.
Then they say that the act of contrition:
Oh my God,
I am wholeheartedly
having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
because they fear the loss of heaven
and the pains of hell;
but mainly because
that offend Thee, my God,
Who are all good and
deserves all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of your grace,
to confess my sins,
to do penance,
and to amend my life.
Amen.
Then bless you and give you your punishment … so no penalty was called, I forget the name that has always been since I ido. It's like the Hail Mary 10. then you're done!

Depends on the person, most people prefer the old way ritual. "Forgive me Father, for I have sinned," say their sins. Then the priest will give you a certain amount of Ave Maria (prayer) to say. Or simply say your prayers that night in Rosario (Rosario looks like a beaded necklace that you say a prayer for each account.) Some people just go there and confess their sins and that is that. Most Catholic churches have no more confessions. Because most people prefer to confess to God and not the priest. No you can not see the priest in confession. There is a small window with a black curtain that can only be opened in the side confesses. He / she has the option to open it if he / she wants. You can simply say that they sinned, and leave it at that. Or as most only remember the sins and confess them. We can discuss things if you want, but you do not have to. The priest will not be there as a therapist to ask questions. You have to ask for advice. Have helped to hope.

It's your choice if you want to sit down face to face or behind the screen. I always sit down face to face, but that's just me. Never know what I am doing, only the priest to walk me through it, it's easy.

I do not see is dark because the priest in the confessional. Open with "Bless me father for I have sinned." I state the time since my last confession. Then I confess my sins. They say that the act of contrition that might receive the forgiveness of God through the priest. My penance and forgiveness. i do my penance. is quiet and confidential. sometimes there is a debate, but not often. I hope this helps.

There is no right or wrong way to confess.
Reconciliation is a sacrament to be a healing encounter between God and the penitent, and there is no need to worry about what they say or do.
This is a way how to go to Confession
+ Get ready you make your examination of conscience.
Enter the confessional. You can choose to speak with the priest in front or behind a screen so anonymously.
+ After the priest greets you with the sign of the cross the sign of the cross and say: "Bless me Father for I have sinned. Was (ie how long) since my last confession. These are my sins … "
+ Tell your sins simply and honestly to the priest. Do not be embarrassed.
+ When the list of all your sins, please read "… Sorry for all these sins and the sins that I can not remember. "
+ Listen to the advice the priest gives you and accept the penance from him. Then make an act of contrition for sins:
My God
Sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do evil

Starts off and then ritualistically becomes more conversational. The penitent basically sets the tone for the sacrament.
Are you considering becoming a Catholic? Confession, or as it is now called, reconciliation is a wonderful way to experience the grace of God.
That forces me to leave my sins. If I keep my pace over the sins that I confessed then that doubt the efficacy of the sacrament and the power of God's grace, and quickly realize how bad it is.

Hi,
Very interesting questions concerning the confession.
Upon entering the confessional, the priest is still waiting to begin. The opening that you and the priest through the floor is such that neitherof can see each other. In most modern churches have phones that can each of you through the floor.
Here's how it works:
1. Start by saying "Bless me father for I have sinned"
2. Then the weather that has been since the last time you confessed your sins.
3. Then, every sin and apologize to the number of times they committed each of them. (For example: "I lied to my parents three times," I stole money from the book my father once. Etc etc)
4. The priest tells you to say some prayers to get out of the confession (for example, "I want to say 3 Hail Mary, 2 and 1 Our Father's act of contrition.")
5. You said that you understand what to do.
6. The priest then says "Your sins are forgiven. Go in peace "
7. To leave the confessional and kneeling in a pew and say the prayer addressed to say.

Priest: (paraphrase) my God in his mercy forgives your sins
You: (list of sins)
Priest: (may explain why it is wrong)
then say that the act of contrition (there are different versions, but I say it like this)
My God I feel for all my sins with all my heart, choosing not to do evil and do good. I have sinned against you, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend with your help to make Pennac, to sin no more and to avoid any leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us, in His name, my God, have mercy.
then the priest gives him an act of Pennac, then said something like
"I absolve you from your sins, go and sin no more in the name of Christ. Amen "
