House Blessing Time

This year, Lent us too soon. The time just before Lent is a perfect time to bless or re-bless your home to protect you and help you prepare for the season of Lent that ends with the joyful celebration of Easter. Can be a bit outdated, but in these troubled and uncertain times it makes sense for me to protect and bless our homes and families. House is just a blessing sacred physical act of dedication, a dedication of the members of the family and home to the Lord. Many Christians have written to us lately informing us that we finally created a prayer room in their homes and now they want to know what was next, with regard to the blessing of your home. Always answered, first, to the house blessed by their pastor or priest and then to develop a day or night blessing that is recited the prayer of all family members.
To understand why and how come you have a blessing upon the entrance of a house we must go back to Biblical days when the children of Israel were slaves of the Egyptians. Most everyone remembers all the various feats of power, our God did in an attempt to convince the Egyptians to the Children of Israel at large. Nothing was effective until God told the Israelites to kill a lamb without blemish, eating everything in one sitting and then to paint the door posts with lamb's blood. Why, because God would send his holy angel of death to kill every firstborn of man and beast in that area. The angel of death, was responsible for "passing over" the houses with the blood of the lamb on the door posts. Thus, there is a quick story about how "step" came to be and why the Jews still celebrate today. You can also see the connection and the symbolism of a lamb without blemish to be Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world for our sins on himself and then by the shedding of His blood as payment for sins . Because of this, Christians have been released and condemned Jesus to death because his blood shed on the cross as payment for our sins.
The granting of our homes and our families the blessings and protection from harm and evil, we bless our homes by putting some physical symbol on each door of our homes. Catholic homes and traditional Anglicans is a holy water font by the front door. Everyone who enters your home can put a small amount of holy water on your fingers and bless you with the sign of the cross, and remember your baptism. The holy water font serves as a proclamation to all visitors that the people inside the home had been bought (redeemed) by Jesus and belong to him. Mal does not want to be anywhere that Jesus is, and has no power over him or his people.
The people in the house, however, must submit to a higher rank to achieve the maximum benefit of a Christian house blessing. Can not wait to have a blessed, protected and serene home without making the home a place that Jesus is invited to enter at any time. Many families pray "Come Lord Jesus be our guest and that this house and our hearts Your dwelling place, and now, even forever, every night since it is blocked and retire. You can not ask Jesus to give them only five minutes to tidy up a bit, "as some of us with our pastor / priest! You can not bring out all the religious items, when the pastor / priest a call comes in and put in the trash once it leaves. This goes doubly for Jesus.
To be truly a Christian is to invite Jesus to come and dwell with you in your home and your heart. Dark or evil things, such as pornography, or other nasty dirty books and objects "should be. Some TV programs should not be allowed to play in your home. This also goes for the kind of music. Dark music and / or bad within the letters and phrases should be banned from your home and life. That is what a true Christian home. A Christian home is open and not hidden anything and was always ready to come to Christ at any time without shame or be 'caught doing what they should not. " Holy beings do not fall in the evil or bad environment. When you ask protection for your home and family is asking Jesus to send His holy angels to keep you safe from all harm and danger and evil. You may not have allowed evil in the "back door" so to speak, and certainly have not been inside your home. Otherwise it would be counterproductive to any intention blessing. One can not do "things" only half way and wait to turn all the profits.
Now, for those of you who are not traditional Catholics or Anglicans, or do not want to put a stack of holy water, you can still invoke the protection of the power of God and His heavenly hosts simply hanging or mounting a cross on the forehead and the back door of your home. As a fun activity for the whole family can do for all the crosses that hang on the doors of his house from scraps found in the house. The children really enjoy it, but more importantly to get the real or true meaning of it. It is not the physical piece of wood that has the power. It is the physical action of placing a reminder of the power of our UN-seen God. Still one has to understand that if you are asking to be free from all evil and harm, which defeat the purpose of allowing certain items or evil of the darkness of his home.
I really hope that is not what I'm saying as a lot of have and have not, do's and don'ts. Is not "the norm" for this or be a Christian or a Christian home. Everything I am saying is that if you really want your home and family to be free from any risk of harm and evil, you are not allowed to defeat a bunch of dark / evil things inside your home! It's like if you do not build a big castle to protect them from predators and then turn around and have a great unlocked back door to enter them easily. Or even worse that there was a couple of rooms inside the castle of your enemy to sleep in. The goal of building a house and keeping your family safe from evil is not to let inside in the first place.
If you move to a new house or a house that has not been blessed before, call your pastor or priest and ask him to come and bless your home. Most of the time will be more than willing. Then after this has been done to mount a stack of holy water or crosses hanging on both front and back doors of your home. Every night when you retire your family say a simple prayer to protect and bless you with the sign of the cross and then retire. Recently a customer wrote the following. "In my family we have found an easy way to begin an evening blessing. After family devotions as a family to go to the front and back doors and say our prayers together protect ourselves crossing, blocking, and then put the kids to bed. Our kids woke up and was much less much less night terrors while growing up. Some of our friends thought I was exaggerating a bit, but this is really how it worked for our family. Our children feel safe and protected by God and His heavenly hosts / angels. " One of the best examples I have heard of!
Today, all our children are in need of such security as may be envisaged for them. Never before in history have been remembered a generation that is very insecure and afraid in their own home environment. Television and radio are full of such and such a violation, torture and death of this child. Terrorists blew up the family while they were in the market. Or that this person was trying to grab that kid and take them away from their families. International sex trafficking and other unmentionables terrifying, all this has contributed to the sad fact that our children are very frightened, and feeling of insecurity too much time today. They walk around waiting for something bad to happen at any time. Jesus told us to cast our fear and anxiety about it and he would take care of and protect us. Tranquility, serenity of home and family is indeed worth taking this step first. Bless their homes, then Jesus, I trust that the care and protection at all times in his comings and goings in, awake and at rest, regardless of what is happening in the world around you.
Finally, please understand that physical actions are necessary, that God is always a point or trying to prove a point. Why do this? I know how many people out there will tell you that you do not need to do this or that because the action and knows that God will protect and hold harmless of any action. Yes, in a way that is very true. But what if a Jewish family when God instructed the first Passover, said, "Oh hell, and God knows what we do not have to spoil the good wood around our doors with lambs blood" . What would have happened? So most Christians would agree that they too have lost their firstborn, human and beast. God told them to take action and make no exception for one simple reason. When families did what God told them and their first born (s) were saved. Therefore we understand that not only physical actions to make statements without seeing our faith to others, are physical reminders for us and our children of Jesus' care and protection.
Therefore, do not allow anyone to do any double talk and talk about proclaiming their faith and actively stealing the physical presence and vivid reminder of our faith in the non-physical Triune God. Simply put a cross on their doors to proclaim the faith of his family and his family gives him a physical reminder of the promises of Jesus to offer protection from harm, danger and all evil. "Be still and know that He is God and that He cares for you and yours because you belong to Him." Its because they're bought and paid for us with the shedding of his blood. Giving the historical and reassuring message, as well as the physical reminder of their children so they can feel totally in Jesus and embrace the loving care and therefore completely safe in their homes.
I've included a couple of sentences blessing just to give you ideas of what to say in theirs. The blessing of prayer is personal and his family should be powerful but easy for the little ones to remember.
  Some House Blessing Prayers

Protect us, Lord Jesus, as we are awake, watch over us like the dream that we awake to watch his back, and sleeping, it is possible that in the rest of his lover and embrace peace. O Holy Spirit grant us the grace to show the peace of Christ as he rules in our hearts. May the word of Christ in all its richness dwell in us, so that whatever we do in word or deed, work or play, we will do so in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. O Holy Spirit remind us that all things belong to God, including this home and your possessions. We ask God to grant us the grace to be good stewards of God's wealth and blessings to all who come into contact with. Like You Lord instructed his holy angel to pass over the houses with the blood of the lamb, it'll take care of his heavenly host to keep all members of this household that have been redeemed by Christ Crucified and kept protected from any form of harm, danger and evil. Angels thank you for all you do for us, including the same things that you never know which are kept safe from. Praise the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
