It is a simple matter of making amends. If someone has wrongfully injured, than compensated. If that is not physically possible, either drop and chalk up the experience, or find some other way to make a contribution to humanity. Life is not about keeping score. The point is to learn and be better person, not the balance vengeance.
The laws are practical, and imperfect. If a law that creates more "order" and less justice, had a right to oppose it. And people are more important than laws. (That's at least one "Jesus" is right). So my conscience is a little more nuanced than traffic or my record of my credit history. My "higher power" is family members, friends and compassionate strangers. Offer all the moral perspective that I need.

Jesus gave power and authority only to the Apostles to forgive sins and that transmits their sucessors, Confess your sins, therefore, one another "… Ie, the priests of the church, whom he had ordered to be called, and brought to the sick and also to confess to those who have no power to forgive sins, would be futile. Hence the precept here means, we must confess to men whom God has appointed, and that coordination and competition, have the power to remit sins in His name.

Why do you have to confess to another person? a priest is closer to God than you? in fact you are God. you're a part of the largest power .. just admit that what he did was not something that is consistent with what you are. and move on .. any feelings of guilt are just your ego. obeserve they not only feed your energy.

I close by making amends for my wrongful acts, like you. Confess to a priest does not help right a wrong. A priest may say your sins are forgiven, it can never help the person who haved harmed.

Glorioso, as Episcopalians, our church has a confession. Not to sound insulting not put much stock in me to confess to another human being to seek forgiveness. I do not think you need a ship to communicate with God. (yes, a bit of a rebel)
Personally, I confess my sins to God, asking forgiveness. I promise myself to God and repent. If I have wronged another person, I offer my sincere apologies. If possible, repair.
There have been problems when he sought the advice and wisdom of my father. The distribution of the payload. He also received good advice.

First of all you need to know the difference between "confess" their sins and repent of their sins. If only someone confessing their sins, as a priest, then, are not forgiven. If you repent of your sins, then not only confess to God, but also apologize for them, and depart from their sins. Only then, will be forgiven. Only God can forgive sins. Not just any man on this earth. This is very important to know. It is a question of forgiveness or unforgiveness. So, if only "confessed" his sins to a priest (a man) that are not being forgiven by God. The only priest we need is Jesus Christ. He is the only way to the Father. There is no other way. That is the reason Christ died for U.S.. It makes no sense to you that since He is the one who came and died for our sins, then He is the only one who can go through them have been forgiven? The Bible is very clear in this regard. God bless

We forgive ourselves the same way we others. Everyone makes mistakes. And if you can not forgive yourself, you can do some "penance" so to speak, trying to return to the community or in some other way.

I would like to apologize for the only person that matters - YOU, the person you have been injured. Doesn't that seem most important? Right the wrongs done to you, do not ask God to forgive me?
