You forgive and try again to keep his promise. Is the effort you make and what matters more effort you make, the more your heavenly Father smile.

Even non-Catholic Christians confess that not only is the "official" confession to a preist. Protestants confess directly to God, asking forgiveness and to absolve us of our sins.
If Lent broke his promise, "then pray to God for forgiveness. His grace alone we are forgiven.

can confess directly to Jesus only to be told sorry but you keep trying. IO so I do not think that is a great sin and it would be a difficult thing to give, but well done for trying.

I am Anglican, but my husband is a cradle Catholic, and we're going to Mass together. I left the butter for Lent, a chef I have been very hard. I slipped in last Friday when my husband did panfried pickerel with butter, of course I did not know this before you eat! I asked for forgiveness when he prayed in the church, as my husband said that was what I should do. I felt better. Trust in the Lord, he is there for you.

I am not a Methodist, but I'm Catholic, and in our Church, Lenten fasts and the promises we are personal. It is not a sin to slip on them, because it is a rule which has imposed itself, not a God / the Church. The errors do not require confession.

You can ask forgiveness from God for yourself, in prayer. It does not sound like a long delay for me, just a little backwards!
You might like to know if you ever really have something hanging over you, you can go to an Anglican / Episcopal priest. Many of them hear the confessions, which do not normally insist that you be an Anglican / Episcopal.
