I have a question about Purgatory?

then came to mind another question …
Why the unsaved arent going to purgatory because they have to get to the tribunal of God to be judged? If God can not be close to sin (which I agree) that how can it not be brought to court when the skies are full of sin?
Here is my original question, if interested: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/; _ylc =…
Margin: it is not a debate about whether this is true or false dcotrine, only one question I am asking about the Catholic faith. Thank you all!

  1. Ron B says:

I am not a Catholic ………….. I think purgatory is just something made up of people who believe in God, but not really trying to walk with him while they are in the ground .. …… families but also a comfort to see their relatives again sometime ………. but I think there is a heaven and a hell and there is nothing in between. ………..

There are challenges in writing. There are glaring contradictions in the doctrines of all the "churches". ( "Teaching and baptism" Matt 29:19)

  3. scotty_8 says:

You can accept Christ and repent (change his ways), or you can use your agency free of sin, but you will have to suffer the consiquence of its action. Having paid the fine, he was tried and given a minor role in his works. All were saved. All confess Christ with time.

  4. Adoptive Father says:

The idea of Purgatory is a purification before going to heaven. No one is purified before going to hell.
      EDIT:
OK, I follow your question now. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure how to respond to you. The best answer I can give is that one must be purified before entering heaven, but one does not need to be purified for trial.

  5. Lion of Judah says:

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1030, "All who die in God's grace and friendship, but imperfectly purified, are indeed the security of your eternal salvation, but after death are subjected to purification, in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter into the joy of heaven. "
Vatican Council II, p. 63, said: "The truth has been divinely revealed that sins are followed by punishments. God's holiness and justice inflict them. Sin must be expiated. This can be done on this earth through the sorrows, miseries and trials of this life and, above all, through death. Otherwise the expiation must be made in the next life through fire and torments or purifying punishments. "
This cleaning process occurs in a place designated by the Catholic Church as purgatory. According to Catholic doctrine, purgatory is not supposed to be a place of punishment, but purification. The nature of this purification, according to the various Catholic theologians, is going from one extreme to the awareness of the loss of an intense and extremely painful "purifying fire."
According to Roman Catholic doctrine, but a person can be in a state of grace, can not enter heaven until he is purified of the sins that were not addressed in the land. Baptism refers sins committed so far, but the prayers, indulgences, penance, absolution, and the Mass are the means by which a sinner can atone for the sins committed after baptism. If the sins are not remitted after death must suffer the fire of purification, until it is clean and pure enough to enter God's presence. In addition, you can do for intercession on behalf of Catholics who are now in purgatory. This also is through to say the Mass, some acts of repentance, saying the rosary, or indulgences which the benefit applies to the dead in purgatory.
However, purgatory is not for everyone. Baptized children who have died before the age of accountability and Catholic saints who lived such holy lives are exempt from the "cleansing fire".
The length of time that someone should suffer in this state is never known, but is considered to be proportional to the nature and severity of sins committed. Therefore, it could be anywhere from hours to a few million years.
Problems with the Doctrine of Purgatory
As a Christian foundation of the spiritual truth in the Bible alone, I see problems with the doctrine of purgatory. For example:
Not found explicitly in the Bible.
This implies that the righteousness of Christ does not cleanse from all sin.
This implies that it is justification by faith alone.
This implies that there is something you should do to be cleansed of sin.
Catholics agree with my perception of the problems of the doctrine of purgatory. That is expected. To quote the Church Fathers, the Apocrypha and other biblical references to fire and purification. What ever side of the argument is divided into, my aim here is to present an argument that examines the biblical doctrine in an attempt to determine whether it is biblical or not.
Of course, Catholics will say that as a Protestant, I come to the discussion with the preconceived idea that (1) purgatory is unbiblical, (2) that I am biased against it, and (3) I have an agenda to fulfill. For each of these allegations admit guilt. None of us is perfectly fair and most everyone has personal beliefs that are reflected in their actions and words. In this case, having read and thoroughly studied the Bible, I find no place in it for the Catholic doctrine of Purgatory.

  6. King James 33 1/3% says:

    Purgatory
"If it is not expected that those who had fallen to rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. But if you are the splendid reward that is established for those who fall asleep in godliness, it is a holy and pious thought. Therefore, he made atonement for the dead, which could be delivered from their sin "(2 macc. 12:44-45).
"Make friends quickly with your accuser, while also going with him to court, so that your accuser hand to judge and the judge to the guard and be put in jail, really, I tell you, you not leave until you have paid the last penny "(Matthew 5:25-26).
"Every working man is manifested by the release day, as revealed with fire, and the fire will test what kind of work each has done. If the job that any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any of the work is burned, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only through fire "(1 Cor. 3:13-15).
"For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that could lead us to God, being put to death in the living flesh, but made in the spirit in which it was and preached to the spirits in prison, which had previously not obey … "(1 Peter 3:18-20).
"But nothing unclean shall enter it [heaven ]…" (Rev. 21:27).

  7. Sir Offenzalot says:

And to the extent that it is appointed for men to die once and after this ruling comes, (Hebrews 9:27)
Purgatory is not my friend, created by the Roman church and is not biblical.

2 sentences Judgment Seat of God (saved) and the great white throne (no save).
The great white throne is only for sinners, the sinners before God.
This is the Bible, not man made nonsense.
