I'm very pleased to help. First, I would draw your attention to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which provides the beliefs and practices of the Church. There you will find the official answer, but I know that is not always the easiest to understand without research. But you may be surprised.
      Santos—
As Catholics we profess our faith in the communion of saints. This comes from Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. We, as believers, all are part of the Body of Christ. This is what Paul writes about in his epistles. We also believe that Christ is our mediator. Through Christ we are spiritually connected to all the faithful present and those who came before us. Those who came before us and received the reward of salvation in heaven with God now. And we call them saints. In the sky are in full communion with God, the source of life. Many will say that Catholics pray to the dead, but I think it's more accurate to say that in heaven are more alive than we are on Earth, since they are in the perfect communion with God.
Now we also have to understand that God is love. God is all about the relationship. Maybe this will make it clear that Satan is the isolation. Sin insulates us, while building relationships of love. Even the Trinity has to do with a relationship, the Father and the Son love each other so perfecty is so real and it is the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is love, is relationship. That is our way of life. Let's build loving relationships. We are to love our neighbor. Some of our neighbors are the saints in heaven, we love through the mediation of Christ. Christ enables us to pray with our brothers and sisters in heaven. Christ does not want to ignore the members of his body and holds the bonds that brings together their closest family.
Catholics do not worship saints or pray to them as if they were gods. How can I ask you to pray for me, I can also ask to St. Augustine to pray for me. You are my brother in Christ and so is he. And St. Augustine is in perfect communion with Christ, so I know his sentence is fair and beneficial. It's one thing that brings the family closer together in Christ. This concept is called intercessory prayer. Many of those who deny the prayer with the saints does not deny the intercessory prayer. The idea that we can pray for others. Only those who deny it are living in the sky and listen through the mediation of Christ. As Catholics, we believe that the saints in heaven are alive and with us the love with the love of Christ.
      -Mary —
Santa Maria is another. She is special, though. She is particularly special because God made when he chose as the Mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is therefore reasonable to call Mary the Mother of God. We do not pretend that Mary came before God and fully recognize that it is the mother of the human side of God. But she is the mother of God, however. As Catholics we do not believe that this rises to the level of God. God alone receives our worship and adoration. Mary is an honor just as it would be in Sacred Scripture. We call her blessed because Scripture says so. We do not worship it, your honor, because we are trying to be like Christ. Christ honored his mother, because the ten commandents says honor thy father and thy mother. We who are trying to be like Christ, we also honor his mother.
Some would say that Catholics worship Mary, but this is just a misunderstanding. Many of these people have a very limited view of what worship can and can not be. I do not think we can pray with our brothers and sisters and Mother Mary in heaven. So when we are praying with Mary, who say that their worship, as is the manner in which to worship God. Catholic, but a heart no comparison, when the worship of God and pray with Mary.
Some say that in honor of Mary Catholic away from what should be Christ. But as Catholics believe that Mary is blessed to say, our hearts are raising a thanks to God for being so good. For example, if I congratulate you for some achievement, is not necessarily undermine Christ in you the good work, but can be a great piece of thanksgiving for the way in which Christ is helping.
This is a big difference between Catholics and Protestants. While they see Christ as a king seated on a throne in an empty room with nobody else around and give all to Him, Catholics see the glory of Christ as King sitting on a throne in a room full of glory that is due to he. We see all the good work and love that brings in the other and honor the work we are giving thanks to Christ. This is exactly what we do when we ask your Holy Mary and thank her for being such a good mother to us all with his intercessory prayer. It is an error and non-Catholics to do this without acknowledging Christ as the creator of these blessings.
There are many who came before us to help us to understand Jesus. St. Paul is a wonderful model of evangelization. San Pedro is a great model of authority. San Juan who put his head on the chest of Jesus and listen to your heart is for us a model of contemplation. Mary is our model of discipleship. All they think about Mary points us to Christ. Because that's what you always did Mary. He noted that said Christ and follow Him. She is the one who humbly said: "I am a servant of the Lord." That is, in essence, Discipleship. And we thank the Lord for giving us a wonderful model to follow the way of it.
We believe in the saints and the Virgin Mary, because they are believers are sons and daughters of God and they are our brothers and sisters and mother that we love and support.
Personally, I think it is to love and honor to our Lord to honor his work in those who are in the race and in the sky. I think He wants us to love them. I do not think we want to ignore them. They all point to him.
I hope this helps. I would recommend a couple of easy reading books that will help in the matter. Scott Hahn books are all good. It may be especially interested in his book, "Hail, Holy Queen."
I also recommend George Weigel of the "Letters to a Young Catholic." I borrowed some of his comments in what I wrote to you.
http://Www.catholic.com is also a site of apologetics defending the doctrines of our faith with useful explanations.
      Peace be with you
      Amen.

is a tradition since the beginning of the church. About 700 Roman Catholics of the century began to expand their traditions cree. one reason is that some people live their lives and help the practice and beliefs of the church at some point in your life that you did something spectacular special littlebit that an ordinary person or regulate. his life to Jesus Christ and serve only to practice what the church a mandate command. Remember one thing that these people who became saints two centuries later, they were good people doing good to their brothers and sisters

  4. shordies says:

Well, "believe in the saints" or "believe in Mary," are kind of vague.
Are you talking about worship Mary or the saints? If so, then rest assured that worship Mary or the saints of worship has nothing to do with Catholicism.
Some people accuse us falsely of worship, but we do not.
But if by "believe in Mary / saints" means that the honor and worship, or that we ask them to pray for us, then yes - we do these things.
But there is nothing non-biblical or non-Christian in that regard. Nothing is without scriptural Mary or the saints to pray for us.
After all, those of us here on earth pray for one another all the time. Ask and are asked by other prayers constantly.
Therefore, if we ask people to prayer here on earth, there is nothing wrong with asking Mary and the saints in heaven to pray for us - after all, are much closer to God than anyone else!

  5. Julia Encarnacion says:

I think the sun rises, the flowers grow, and the saints live. Mary was indeed once a virgin.
I believe in the resurection. Nothing more … even my wife, which I know is very real.
She says, "A saint is someone who can live with a martyr …"

  6. Dragonla says:

Many Catholics and other Christians believe in the communion of saints, all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your friends and family here on earth to pray for you. You can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
      With love in Christ.

  7. imacatho says:

well, I read a lot about them, and came to know some amazing things about God and the way some people completely believed in him, and on some of the wonderful things that happened because of that faith. It is amazing. If you can find some works St Bernadette, and children in La Salette, the children at Fatima, or St. Catherine of Siena, which started well in the wonderful world of what a person can accomplish when they give their heart and soul , her whole being to God. They are guided in the way of life and a living example of our Lord. To the extent that they have placed their souls and that has kept us and share with us their most cherished friends, who were born before they chose to do the things they did.

  8. Shinigami (FAC) weeaboo says:

The Blessed Virgin Mary is a God-given place in heaven as the queen of heaven and earth.
Fulfilling the promise of the Son of God to become the man would not have occurred if no mother, therefore, the Immaculate Conception. The four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and mentioned this. Through Mary, Christ's first miracle happened at the wedding.
Anyway, Mary has played an important role in fulfillement the promise of making it fair for us to honor it.
The saints are ordinary people like you and me who has done extraordinary things. They are an example to us about living a life of Godliness.
SANTOS SANTOS not become accidentally. It is hard work before they become SANTOS, it really has to make at least 3 DOCUMENTED MIRACLES after death.
So once again they are special, so it is just to honor them.

  9. drickdj9 says:

27:52 MT … tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. The term "holy" is found in Scripture, as you can see. It refers to those who took an exceptionally holy life. The Blessed Virgin Mary has always been held in high regard. Elizabeth's greeting to Mary: LK 1:42 … cried with a loud voice and said: "Most blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb." And again in the Magnificat: LK 1:48 For he has the humility of his handmaid, behold, henceforth all ages call me blessed. Jesus Christ is God and man - God among us - and his mother Mary as the mother of God. The Church only recognizes the special grace of God gave him.

  10. latics7 says:

I believe in the Virgin Mary because she gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God. With regard to the saints, I think it was "holy life. Very often the patron saints of particular areas or subjects, and so on.
If you are still not happy …… go ask a priest or nun, you should know.

I really do not know why I believe in saints, but in prayer, "I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Cathloic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins and eternal life, Amen." Turning to the Virgin Mary, all the world was told that she was the mother of Jesus, and not sleep with someone to get pregnent. Probably depends on what you said when you were little.
