Come and see, Jenny.
The Catholic Mass is ONLY about the Lord. There are no prayers to Mary. She's barely even mentioned.
Catholics do NOT spend church time singing to Mary...sometimes we sing about Mary if it's a particular day of remembrance about her, like the day we remember that the angel told her she would be carrying the Christ Child, but the context is ALWAYS about Christ coming to earth.
Come and see, Jenny. We won't try to convert you. You can sit in the back and take notes. Take notes about what the songs are about. Take notes about how much scripture we read. Take notes about what the priest says. Take notes about the Gospel message that is very clearly stated during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. And do, please, count how many times you hear the name "Mary."
Come on, Jenny. You can go see for yourself and report the TRUTH right here. Go to Mass this very Sunday (I'm sure there is a Mass held at a time that still allows you to go to your regular church, too.). Bring a friend if you're scared. Bring your notebook.
Come and see...come and see for yourself...

First off we Catholics ARE Christians and have been for two thousand years, secondly there is NO obligation to pray to mary. We ask Mary and the saints to pray for us, we Pray Directly and Worship God alone. Yes you would be very welcome at the Church everyone is welcome Catholic stands for Universal.
We do pray Direct to Jesus, why do you ask for prayers or say prayers for family and friends (interceding on their or your behalf)?. It's called INTERCESSION we ask Mary and Saints to pray for us just like you would ask a family or friend to pray for you. We pray DIRECTLY to God and Worship God alone not Saints or Mary!.
And it is Bibilical here you have some referance,Thus, in Psalm 103 we pray, "Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will!" (Ps. 103:20–21). And in the opening verses of Psalms 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his host!"
Not only do those in heaven pray with us, they also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Rev. 5:8). Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.
Angels do the same thing: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Rev. 8:3–4).
Catholics and Orthodox Worship God and God alone
Mary is not dead 'she is no longer in this World' but she is in Heaven. I will give you one easy example that is even in the KJV. When Elijah and Moses appeared to Jesus were they dead?, NO!. We do pray directly and Worship God but we ask the Saints and Mary for intercession ' For them to pray for us'.

If you worship anyone other than God you are an adolater and have no business being in a Catholic Church. You can't violate Christianity by doing what Catholics do because Catholicism is original, pure and complete Christianity. You may violate Protestantism but that isn't the same as violating Christianity.

well apparently you've never been to a Catholic mass because Mary is mentioned only ONCE in the mass and it's in the Nicene Creed. If the Gospel is about Mary well that's Scripture and i'm not going to tell you that may not happen. If you want to ensure that the scriptures are not about Mary you can look them up prior to going to mass. It's published so that in attending mass for 3 years you will have read the entire bible! In the month of May there will often be a song to Mary during the mass in which we show our thankfulness to God for giving us Mary as such a wonderful example, gracious even Jesus listened to her even though it wasn't the Time. However, even then we don't pray TO MARY BUT ONLY JESUS & GOD IN THE SACRIFICE OF THE MASS.
i don't know where you got the misconception about the Mass but it just goes to show - sometimes people don't share the truth with us and when we then speak of it AS a truth - we often learn a valuable lesson. These next 40 days in particular before Easter are very much a solemn time reflecting on Christ in our lives.

Pray to God through Jesus. No one is forcing you to pray to anyone else in the Catholic church. Anyone can attend, but usually you have to adhere to Catholicism to receive communion or other rituals that only those "confirmed" can participate in.

Quran 5.117
I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship GOD ,my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.
