No, there is much more to be a Catholic to say a prayer. However, I know many Protestants who love the Blessed Virgin Mary and asks for their prayers.
Jesus gave His mother to us all - Protestants and Catholics alike. I am sure we would be happy to pray for you, no matter what denomination you belong to.

No, pray the Hail Mary is not the most important aspect of being a Catholic. But receiving the sacrament of Communion and believe the physical presence of Christ in the consecrated host, causing a part of the mystical body of Christ. This is what makes a Catholic.

  3. Anne says:

You have much more to jump through hoops to become a Catholic then. First holy communion, confirmation, confession, a profession of faith. If you want to know how to be a Catholic, buy a Catechism of the Catholic Church, a Bible, and call a Catholic church.

  4. jcmazza1 says:

No, you is not Catholic to say a Hail Mary. Ask a saint to pray that you're not a Catholic. Anyone can ask a saint to pray with them. Saints are not limited to Catholics. Anyone can pray to God and Jesus. Anyone can ask the saints to pray with them. Not limited to the Catholic faith. You do not have to be Catholic to seek his help or guidance. I hope your prayers are answered.
If you still have doubts, here is how you become Catholic:
One person is in full communion with the Catholic Church through reception of the three sacraments of Christian initiation, baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist, but the process by which one becomes a Catholic can take different forms .
Someone who is baptized in the Catholic Church becomes a Catholic at that time. The opening is deepened by confirmation and the Eucharist, but became a Catholic baptism. This applies to children who are baptized Catholic (and receive the other two sacraments later) and for adults who are baptized, confirmed and receive the Eucharist at the same time.
Those who have been validly baptized outside the Catholic Church Catholics, making a profession of Catholic faith and being formally received into the Church. This is usually followed immediately by confirmation and the Eucharist.
Before a person is ready to be received into the Catholic Church, whether by baptism or profession of faith, preparation is necessary. The amount and form of this preparation depends on the circumstances of the individual. The most basic division in the type of preparation needed is between those who are unbaptized and those who have already become Christian through baptism in different denominations.
For adults and children over the age of reason (seven years), entering the Church is governed by the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), sometimes called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) .

Not that you're not a Catholic. Do not worry. Which simply repeated the words the angel spoke to Mary in the Annunciation, and then the words referred to his visit to Elizabeth. Then, simply asked the mother of God pray for you. Trust us on this case, she is alive and well in heaven and she cares about us. Pax Christi

  6. Johnny De J>C>B says:

If you were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, then you are Catholic, but after that once you have committed mortal sin, not an acquittal rom recievd priest as Jesus is prescirbed longfer not a memebr of the Kingdom of God / Heaven on earth until there recdeived such acquittal.

    No.
And on a side note, do not need a saint to pray for you. We are all saints to be purified by the blood of Christ. Our prayers are enough. By dying on the cross, Jesus broke the veil between God and man. We can go directly to God, now. We have the same priority in our prayers to God that the same Virgin Mary.
