Inaudible Language
The book of James has much to say about the power of language and the church is keen to take advantage of the bad things that were said about people, bad words that the Lord's name in vain, or so it thought. But what about that inaudible language, the silent voice that is heard only in your head? What about the language?
"Our minds, like our stomachs are whetted by the change of food." Quintillian
Let me put it as directly as possible. The words that you speak to you, the conversations you have with yourself, are made in the morning! Can not think of anything for long without the adoption of these ideas as your attitude, history tells you that you live, that is!
I am who I am by the thoughts and conversatiosn to participate every day. What do you think now when you read this? Some say YES. Some say NO! But most people who read this and think intellectually him forget about it and then continue the discussion about what is bothering you, what person would not be interested. And so on.
And then what we as a family, community, city, state and nation is a collective reflection that we become. Who is emerging in America as we look to our politicians, who represent U.S., not good. And to me it's getting worse.
To change our lives, to change the things we call facts in our world, we must change our state of consciousness. Being "religious" does not work anymore. There are too many religions in overcrowded spaces smaller and smaller. The scandals that have rocked the Catholic Church and evangelical leaders in the United States during the past decade are driving people away.
The good news is that we still are in search of spiritual life, spiritual experiences, and return those who know they are but can not articulate. Bujt while they can not put the words (verbal) to what they feel and think, they have an internal conversation that is saying, it's time to change. And he Obame (consciously or not) has operated on a nerve and inaudible conversation that is taking the psyche of America.
Pity that the church is not doing the same.
But then, the churches do not like to make the change now!
