Paris A city with more sites than any other

Where travel is limited, however, the best bet is to visit the sites that cover the widest possible interests of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica is one of those sites. Centrally located with many options for accommodation in the area, one can pay as little as $ 20 for a hostel or $ 500 more for a five-star hotel luxury.
Paris has suffered a major cleanup in the last decades, many of the buildings are very old as its facilities, the accommodation is no exception to this. It is particularly important in Paris or to follow recommendations to make sure you see the room before paying for it. Of course, the highest level of hotel accommodation does not require such guarantees.
The building began in 1876 in Montmartre, which however was not completed until 40 years later. Montmartre is one of the highest hills in Paris a great city view from the basilica and its own extensive gardens cascade. However the site was not selected for their point of view, but rather because of its importance. It was in this place where tradition says Saint Denis, the patron saint of Paris, was beheaded in the third century.
Tradition says that the bishop being beheaded after Denise got up, took his head and took him to a number of miles north of the current location of the city of Saint Denis was, of course, the event gave him his canonization.
A Roman Catholic church designed by architect Paul Abadie is Romanesque-Byzantine style is both clear and impressive. Inside is very nationalist iconography that reflects the period of construction and its sponsorship by national subscription that reflects the hopes of nations future power, something that escaped at the time, ironically, even a reality at the time of the inauguration in 1919 basilicas .
Architectural features are truly spectacular, as individual pieces and the general sense that they create. The triple arched portico of faad play host to the perfect bronze statues of Joan of Arc or mount them, and King St. Lous IX, the national saints of France.
The stone used for building is Chateau-Landon stone, hence the perfect whiteness of the building as such loses its calcite stone by creating a continuous bleaching effect wear the white building each year. The bell of the basilica, known as the Savoyard was launched in 1895 in Annecy and weighing 19 tones, is one of the heaviest in the world. Yet another reminder of the rich history of France, Savoy, which only became a part of in 1860. Inside is something for everyone, in addition to the iconography of the mosaics are included gold mosaic of Christ in Majesty, which is in the apse and the action as one of the world's largest mosaics, matched by the beauty in mural of the Passion of Christ visible behind the alter.
The dome is the only part of the cost to enter the basilica, but if you can cope with the steps of the view from the top is out of this world. If you prefer to keep their feet on the ground however, the broad-based measurement and features stunning water gardens are equally valuable.
Accessible via the subway stops Anvers or Abbesses or bus number 30, 54, 80 or 85, the church is open between 6 am and 11 pm, and worship takes place daily as been every day since the day of his inauguration.
