See how the Roman Catholic priests can not marry?

Among the 3 major religions, Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam, Roman Catholic demonination of Christianity is the only one that does not allow its clergy to marry, and women priests.
I suspect the reason is not religious at all and it is a strictly business perspective. I assume that if the priest is not married and has no children then have no heirs to take care of anything and has all the assets go to the diocese. The issuw women priests coming from the denial of women in the history of the Church and also by the fact that they want their priests to have a "family".
  Any other arrangement?

Priests and even popes used to have concubines and children (Lucrecia Borgia-sp? Was the daughter of a pope), monks, nuns and priests were known throughout history to have sex and unmarried, including children - to often fostered out after birth when the child was a nun. There is an old joke about the Pope going to the library in the sky and screaming in anguish when they discover that someone forgot the "R" - is supposed to celebrate, not Celebate! I love that one - and I believe that a priest spiritual representative and can not really know their "sheep" unless they can identify in some way when it comes to family life - and to be honest, I did not call for the altar Chocolate-a child of his spouse simply does not have ……. and a priest can not know what marriage means never having walked this path - Pastors are another story, however, and tend to have more respect for the ways that allow women to office and allow his ministry to get married and have families. Their ministry tends to be more well rounded and can relate to his "flock" better - but that's just a celebration that used to go to church all the potential in finding the church that was right - and while not if really necessary, enforce the most well rounded ministries MUCH more. Human nature and all …..

"Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in recent times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a red iron vivo; Forbidding to marry …. "
      (I Timothy 4:1-2).
"This is a true saying, If a man wants the office of a bishop who want a good job. Then the bishop must be blameless, the husband of a woman … That ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection "
      (I Timothy 3:1-4).

There are several reasons why a RC priest can not marry:
      1. so they can dedicate their lives to the Church and God. A priest is called at all hours of day and night.
      2. move around a bit at the mercy of the Bishop, it is not fair to make this a family.
      3. since about 800 AD, roughly, it was noted that priests were leaving large sums of money and goods (both of whom belonged to the Church) to the heirs, lovers, kings, and debtors. To stop this, the Vatican said: "No more marriage"
As for women, men had only Jesus by the apostles, therefore, only men can be priests.

YEAH, whatever, it is assumed that an oath of Celeb … How do you see that he was going.

Disagree. The priestly celibacy, and all men is entirely Biblical priestghood of origin:
Celibacy is the Church practice, not dogma
Matt. 19:11-12 - Jesus says celibacy is a gift from God and whoever can bear to bear. Jesus praises and recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church. Because celibacy is a gift from God, those who criticize the practice of the Church of God, celibacy and criticize this wonderful gift that gives to his elect.
Matt. 19:29 - Jesus says that whoever gives up their children for the sake of His name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. Jesus praises celibacy when it is done for the sake of his kingdom.
Matt. 22:30 - Jesus explains that in heaven there is no marriage. Bring Jesus to reign on earth, priests living heavenly consecration to God by not having a wife in marriage. In this way, priests are able to focus exclusively on the spiritual family, and no more pressure of the biological family (which is for the vocation of marriage). This also makes it easier for priests to be transferred to different parishes where they are most needed without having to worry about the effects of their transfer to the wife and children.
1 Cor 7:1 - Paul teaches that it's okay for a man not to touch a woman. This is an option for Catholic priests of the Roman rite freely.
1 Cor. 7:7 - Paul also acknowledges that celibacy is a gift from God and wishes that all were celibate like he is.
1 Cor. 7:27 - Paul teaches that men are not looking for marriage. According to Paul, marriage introduces worldly temptations that can interfere with the relationship with God, specifically in relation to those who become full-time ministers in the Church.
1 Cor. 7:32-33, 38 - Paul recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church so that they can concentrate fully on the creation of God and his kingdom. "The couple who abstains from doing better."
1 Tim. 3:2 - Paul instructs that bishops must be married only once. Many Protestants use this verse to prove that the Church's celibacy law is in error. But they are mistaken because this verse refers to bishops that widowers. Paul is instructing that these widowers could not remarry. The verse also refers to those bishops who were married. Also, can not marry (in the Eastern Rite Catholic Church, priests are allowed to marry, celibacy is only a rule of discipline for the clergy of the Roman Rite). Therefore, this text has nothing to do with the imposition of a condition of marriage to become a bishop.
1 Tim. 4:3 - this verse, Paul refers to doctrines that forbid marriage misleading. Many non-Catholics also use this verse to challenge the Church of the practice of celibacy. This is totally wrong because the Catholic Church (unlike many Protestant churches) exalts marriage to a Sacrament. In fact, marriage is raised to a sacrament, but consecrated virginity is not. The Church states that the sacred marriage, and lifegiving pact. Paul refers to doctrines that forbid marriage and other goods when done outside the teaching of Christ and a good landlord. Celibacy was an act of abandoning a well (on marriage and children) for a greater good (complete spiritual union with God).
1 Tim. 5:9-12 - Paul recommends that older widows have a commitment to celibacy. This was the beginning of women religious orders.
2 Tim. 2:3-4 - Paul instructs his bishop Timothy that no soldier in the civil service become entangled in activities, as they aim to satisfy his one who recruited him. Paul uses an analogy for describing the role of priestly celibacy in the Church.
Rev. 14:4 - unlike our sinful world of the flesh, in heaven, those consecrated to virginity are honored.
Isaiah 56:3-7 - the eunuchs who keep God's covenant has a special place in the kingdom of heaven.
Jer. 16:1-4 - Jeremiah was told by God not to have a wife or children.
      The women in the priesthood
Gen. 3:15, Luke 1:26-55, John 19:26, Rev. 12:1 - Mary is the greatest creation of God, was the person closest to Jesus, but Jesus did not choose to be priest. God chose only men to be priests to reflect the complementarity of the sexes. As the man (the royal priest) gives life to the natural woman in the conjugal partnership, the ministerial priest gives supernatural life in the New Covenant sacraments.
Judges 17:10, 18:19 - fatherhood and priesthood are synonymous. Micah says: "Stay with me, and my father and a priest." Fathers / priests give life, and mothers receive and nurture life. This reflects our Father God who gives the life of grace through the priesthood of her Divine Son, and Mother Church receives the life of grace and feeding their children. In short, women can not be priests because women can not be parents.
Mark 16:9, Luke 7: 37-50, John 8:3-11 - Jesus allowed women to join in their unique mission, beyond the glorification of cultural norms. His decision not to order the woman had nothing to do with culture. The writers of the Gospels is also clear that women participate in the ministry of Jesus and, unlike men, never betrayed Jesus. Women have always maintained the highest esteem in the Church (eg, the holiest of the Church and the model of faith is a woman, the constant teaching of the Church on the dignity of motherhood, the Church of understanding of humanity united as the bride of Christ, etc.).
Mark 14:17,20, Luke 22:14 - the language "the twelve" and "apostles," shows Jesus Eucharistic holy priesthood in charge, giving orders to men.
Gen. 14:10, Heb. 5:6,10, 6:20, 7:15,17 - Jesus, the Son of God, is both king and priest after the priest-king Melchizedek. Jesus embodies both the priesthood and monarchy parentage.
Gen. 22:9-13 - as announced, our redemption God chose to be secured by the sacrifice of love that the Son is the Father.
Matt. 26:26, Mark 14:22, Luke 22:19 - because the priest acts in persona Christi in offering to the Father, the priest can not be a woman.
Mark 3:13 - Jesus selected the apostles, "as he desired," according to his will and not according to the demands of their culture. Because Jesus acted according to His will was perfectly united to the Father, we can not criticize Jesus' selection of men to be his priests without criticizing God.
John 20:22 - Jesus breathed only the male apostles, the first bishops, giving them the authority to forgive and retain sins. In fact, the male priesthood of Christianity was a distinction of the priestesses of paganism that existed at the time. A female priesthood would be a return to non-Christian practices. The sacred tradition of a male priesthood and the Church has existed for 2000 years.
1 Cor. 14:34-35 - Paul says a woman is not allowed to preach the word of God in the Church. It has always been the tradition of the Church by the priest or deacon only (ordered a male) to read and preach the Gospel.
1 Tim. 2:12 - Paul also said that a woman is not allowed to maintain authority in the teaching of the Church. Can you imagine how much Mary, Mother of God, would have been able to teach Christians about his Son Jesus in the Church? However, he is not allowed to hold this kind of teaching authority in the Church.
Rom. 16:1-2 - while many Protestants point to terminate this verse in the tradition of the Church, the priesthood of a man, Diaconis, like Phoebe, were assistants to the priests (eg the preparation of naked women for a baptism order to avoid scandal). However, these helpers were never ordered.
Luke 2:36-37 - prophetesses, like Anna, the woman who was devoted to religious life, but were not sorted.
Isaiah 3:12 - Isaiah complains that the priests of ancient Israel had their authority usurped by women, and this was at the height of Israel's covenant apostasy.

  6. Daver says:

Jesus told the Apostles to give up their families and their wordly goods and come follow him.
Catholics interpret as meaning that priests should not marry or have anything personally.

  7. daljack -a girl says:

I totally agree with that. Was not presented as mandatory, however, the pope says it is! Sometimes I think the top step of the church sanction or never married woman priest priests. Too bad, you never know what you are missing!

  8. Rev. Kaldea says:

You are totally misinformed on several points.
Celibacy was imposed on the RC priests in the 7th century.
This was to counter the numerous scandals of the times.
It is strictly a matter of discipline and can be changed.
In fact, we have several priests who are married.
Most of the conversion of other denominations.
The priests have families, with their families and their heirs.
Have few assets, except that they come from the family.
A female priest is an oxy-moron (can not happen).
Priestesses were a time of pagan worship.
The scapegoat is always a male.
Women are more respected in Christianity.
Women have been an important part of Catholic ministry.
      Mary Magdalene, Joan of Arc, Teresa of Avila, Mother Teresa;
to name only some of the greatest saints.

  9. Robert S says:

It is the belief that the priest must be celibate for spiritual reasons. The idea of leaving something to the heirs of the issue and also that, regardless of what may appear to the property, which owns nothing, because the church and therefore God owns everything. There would be nothing left to an heir. What differences there may be today, I have no idea. Leaving nothing to an heir, however, is not a concern.
As far as having a "family" to them, their congregation is his family, who are often invited to join the festivities such as the attention that can be part of. Your premise is wrong, and apparently in charge of ignorance. Women, on the contrary has a very good reputation at least in the Bible and modern history, if one is willing to be fair and diligent in their investigations.

  10. kerry k says:

They are not allowed to marry for the reason that you suspect. They want all their money to stay in the Catholic Church and not left to the family.
      * Celibacy of the priesthood, decreed by Pope Gregory VII (Hildebrand) 1079

  11. Freedom says:

I think we have a difficult time reaching the parents of thirteen year old child to sign the consent.

  12. John B says:

Not wishing to be unkind to the Catholic faith, I agree in part with you.The reason is the same for the nuns. Who are married to God. However, in light of recent events in connection with the sexual abuse of priests, I would say that they (the priests) are involved in most things, ie sex, drugs and alcohol. You really do not believe that they are holy?

  13. The Wizard. says:

I agree! Do not eat rice without heirs.

  14. Mundo says:

It is quite simply the Catholic Church is a religion with its own-no matter how the Bible can not be based.
