First, what does this have to do with politics, and second, would be even if the Catholic Church was the Pope?
No way, no how. Helps a person to be able to fix things at the top (even if you disagree personally) and that would defeat two thousand years of history and tradition.
What does' give 'the idea of the papacy? What is the church supposed to do: declare that the Pope has been wrong all these years and not assume that the popes? Not only is that self-destructive, but it makes no sense. Christ instituted the papacy when he left Peter in charge, Peter chose a successor to take his place when he died and so on. There is an unbroken line of popes going all the way back to Peter, always guiding the Church in all difficult times and good times, and this is the way of Christ means for the Church to be. How can we not say that it was fragmented into thousands of different "names". The Catholic Church will never abandon the idea of the papacy that never loses hope that one day the Church of Christ will once again.
