The Spanish did not expression "Al Pan Pan call and wine Wine" refers to the Eucharist?
There is a Spanish phrase "call bread bread and wine wine," it seems that, basically, to "speak clearly", or good faith.
Literal English translation of the phrase would "call bread bread and wine wine."
Is the origin of this phrase relates to the Catholic belief of transubstantiation in the Eucharist? Its seems to be. However, it is kind of looks as if it is to denigrate the idea of transubstantiation. That seems like something kind of strange, because most Spanish-speaking countries have Catholic majorities.
Does anyone know if there is a relationship between the expression in the Eucharist?
- Why are Catholic lay people denied communion wine?
- Why are Catholic lay people refused communion wine?
- Most Catholics do believe that the bread and wine are transformed into the Real Body and Blood of Christ?
- What kind of bread and wine Use Catholics in the sacrament of the Eucharist?
- Jesus is O.k. But I hate transubstantiation. Does this mean that Catholics are my mortal enemies?

My favorite is "The monkey in silk is veste, mona stays." In English it means "Although it is a monkey dressed in silk is still a monkey." It is a lot like saying "You can not make a silk purse from a sow's ear."
In some parts of the world instead of saying "Once in a blue moon," they say "Every time one dies Obisbo. In English means "Whenever a bishop dies.

His argument seems correct. As if the sentence was trying to say that the bread and wine remain bread and wine. I know that Catholics believe that Christ indwells physically communion elements [transubstatiation doctrine is called, as you mentioned]. And yes, most of the Spanish and Catholic cultures. Looks like someone is taking a stand against the doctrine of transubstantiation, as you mentioned it again. Would have to agree with your interpretation, unless someone else has another view on it. I believe that the communion to be symbols of the elements of Christ's blood and body. Peace.
