According to the Orthodox Church is the Catholic Church is in schism and heresy. The Orthodox Church has never accepted the supremacy of the pope or universal jurisdiction and infallibility in the Church. It was the Roman Catholic Church, which began the schism of 1054 requiring compliance with the teachings and doctrines unrelated to what the Orthodox Church has received from the Fathers, martyrs and confessors of the faith and defended and held in the seven Ecumenical Councils .
The Orthodox Church accepts the Pope claims. If the papacy renounces the innovations and false theology, we can think of the union of the Churches.

The strict anti-Catholic is kept strictly anti-Catholic. It's not like a corporate merger, where hostile takeovers are possible. If the merger is complete, the Orthodox churches that align with that retain their own customs, but recognize the Pope as their church leader, the same way that a new state in the European Union to recognize George Bush as the political leader.
The "One World Church" as a forebearer of Revelation is a misinterpretation by the famous anti-Catholic Tim LaHaye. He ignored the call for Christian Unity in Ephesians. Ecumenism, anyone? Or is the pastor and his congregation, only to be saved?
The Catholic Church is not the only one with a tainted past. Consider the fate of the old believers by Russian Orthodoxy. However, the Church has learned from its mistakes. This would be a good step, but not notice much in the U.S., where the majority of Catholics follow the Latin rite and Orthodox Christians are not a substantial part of the population.

Going to happen. I've been involved in the ecumenical movement in the Church for 35 years.
Did you know that all Episcopal congregations and the Missouri Synod Lutherans are Catholics now? Catholic priests and pastors and priests?
These are the ones who used to call heretics. The Orthodox Churches are merely schismatic. The oldest division in the Christianity of the garment is on course to be recommended. All glory and honor be yours, Lord, now and forever!

I only know a church that is not a root of the Catholic Church and is the living Church of God. (Eph.5: 27, Acts 20:28)

Sorry to say this, but not a true Christian Orthodox accept unification without correcting the Catholic ideology. We believe that the Pope can make mistakes and the Holy Spirit is the Father only. these are the main differences that Orthodox believers do not give up. moreover, the Catholic Church, its doctrine has changed many times over the centuries to suit the will of the popes to rule the people. in its history there have been times when more than one pope was supposed to rule, and the massacres of the inquisition. i did not get very holy.Orthodoxy not changed. is pure. I would love to see a church, but not at the expense of truth.
