Jesus instituted the sacrament of the Eucharist at the Last Supper on the night before his death when he spoke the words, "this is my body ..." and "this is my blood." Jesus told his followers that they would eat their flesh and drink his blood (see Jn.6). This promise was fulfilled at the Last Supper, which was the beginning of his sacrifice, and was completed in his crucifixion. The Church has followed Jesus' to "do this whenever you meet."

You've heard the phrase, "From your lips to God's ears? Well, in this case, was literally "God's lips to our ears." At the Last Supper, Jesus led his followers to do this. He said very clearly: "This is my body." "This is my blood." "Do this in remembrance of me." He said "This is a symbol of my body?" No. He stutter or mince words? Absolutely not. When Jesus speaks, he hears his Church. And that is why the Catholic Church today celebrates the sacrament of the Eucharist.

Matthew 26: 26 -28 26) And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed, and brake, and gave it to the disciples and said, Take eat, this is my body. 27) And taking the cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Drink ye all of it; 28) For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. This is the communion in most churches today, and I do not think that is enough. Reading the words of these scriptures is enough to put on my face. This is supposed to be why most of us call ourselves Christians and should be daily, not just on Sundays and Wednesdays. Jesus is who He says He is every day ... it should be. <> <
