Mary accepted her life as God established. Mary was devoted to God and therefore their marriage and the full will of God - to give birth to Jesus. when a Catholic woman presented a bouquet which is conducted as a class would give his own mother. Catholics feel an affinity with Mary as his hero - Women. when submitting the package to pray asking God to be a loving, gentle, understanding and responsible wife and mother Mary was in her civil station.

I am Catholic, and Catholics have been to many weddings, and I've never seen that done. If it does happen, perhaps symbolic of the fact that Mary was married to Joseph. It's a little about the Christian family Father, Mother and Child (even though Joseph was the adoptive father of Jesus, but still).
