Where does the 1st Commandment to say? Prayer is not worship. It is the conversation. People understood this years ago, when I would say yes, "I pray you, what are you doing?" The Bible says that we must pray for one another. Why not Mary pray for us? Remember, no body is present with the Lord. The saints are not sleeping. In fact, to request the martyrs in Revelation, "How long, O Lord, before it comes? Protestants are ignoring a powerful tool.

Mary, like all the other saints to deliver our messages and prayers to God, which is why we pray to Mary, although I'm not Catholic, but Orthodox.

Well, because the Bible is inspired book of God for us, it is best to see what it says on the matter. The Bible says that we should only pray to God and not to any other person and you must submit prayer through Jesus Christ as mediator. Never said anything about prayer to Mary or another saint. It is the veneration of images of Mary in harmony with the Christian Bible? The practice was undoubtedly encouraged by the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). "This Holy Synod of the majority ... calls upon all the sons of the Church that the cult, especially the liturgical cult of the Blessed Virgin, was promoted generously. That the charges that the practices and exercises of devotion toward her be treasured as recommended by the Magisterium of the Church over the centuries, and that the decrees issued in the past with regard to the veneration of images of Christ, the Virgin and the saints, it is observed religiously ".- The documents of Vatican II, pp. 94, 95. So, as you can see, there is no scripture to back up this practice, simply a statement of the Vatican. So this is a church teaching, not a biblical teaching. Says Catholic priest Andrew Greeley: "Mary is one of the most powerful religious symbols in the history of the Western world ... Mary symbol links directly to the Christianity of the ancient goddess religions mother ".- The conduct of the Popes 1978 (U.S., 1979), p. 227.

If we were to follow the Protestant faith to pray directly to Jesus and ask no favors from the saints, then they should practice what they preach not to pray for one another. I saw the protesters by asking his brothers to pray for them, and if so, why not ask them to pray directly to Jesus? We Catholics ask Mary and the saints to pray / intercede for us with God, like any mortal, here on earth who can pray for us, heavenly beings can pray for us too.

Mary is a good friend, the mother of the Savior. Mary through the centuries has had a major impact on the church. See Council, where Mary was proclaimed as "Theodocus! It's incredible the deep affection and devotion towards Catholics celebrate the BVM. The late John Paul II had in his papal coat the saying: "Totus tuus".

I have wondered the same thing! Mary and the saints can not hear what the dream. The Bible is clear on this subject as there is only one mediator between man and God, Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church has made all kinds of Mumbo Jumbo and his amazing the Lord will destroy the Catholic Church during the tribulation (Revelation Ch.17 V.1-9), which has led to countless millions down the road to hell and made a mockery Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Before Jesus Christ died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven there are no saints in heaven. Therefore, there is no written mention of the Old Testament. Very few of the new Christians died before most of the New Testament was written. Therefore there is little in the Bible about asking saints to pray for us. However, the last book of the Bible does not speak of the saints in heaven praying. Revelation 5:8: Each of the elders held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Revelation 8:3-4: He was given a large quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. The smoke of incense with the prayers of the saints ascended before God from the angel's hand. The Holy Spirit guided the early Church in many things not explained in the Bible including the manner in which the Body of Christ (believers) on earth are related to the Body of Christ (saints) in the sky. We are still one Body. We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches. The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family. Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa. As part of this family, you can ask your friends and family here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you. Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship. With love in Christ.
