Why do Catholics pray to Mary and the saints and Bow Before Statues?

Has been clearly established in the Bible that God is a jealous God and that one should not pray to any other save him and also do not encumber any images of anything in heaven or on earth. Jesus came to intercede on our behalf, why go to Mary or another saint. These people are not bigger than you.
Jesus clearly said that no one comes to the Father by him. Will the father's intercession on our behalf. When bow before these statues and pray to the dead men who are not mad at God. Could this be why the Catholic Church is facing all these public trials and the decline in membership. The only person who can intercede on their behalf is Jesus. My wife received her healing prayer to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not Mary or saints.

because the Romans have always been an idol worshiper because Jesus WUS a race of people who thought the week they feel they can go around it, becomes the more he believes in other gods Zeus no one true God

First you should not ask this question here, why not go to a Catholic church and ask them. Well, yes I am Catholic and believe in Jesus we know that He is our priest. First of all Mary gave birth to Jesus, I think it's a step better than you. Was chosen for all other women to give birth to him. Do not worship statues. We never have. We show respect for the Saints that has stuck on. Show respect to Mary because she is the mother of Jesus. I guess that does not show respect for his mother. The Catholic Church is as strong today as it always has been. I hate to inform you of other religions, but have problems in their churches I will point you or are you man enough to know ya. Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggert I?
Catholic churches do more for the people around them then most churches .. So please before you bash a faith your deeds straight. Thanks

Perhaps the question should be - - - Why pray to anyone at all, what you get out of it? Oh yes, the points with their gods. If the gods can hear the prayers of zillions of miles away, and six million people talking at the same time, then do not have to hear the sentence - - can read minds. Saying at no time, only it seems.

Catholics do not pray to Mary and the saints. As to bowing, which can be anyone you want. However, kneeling is reserved for God and God alone.

  6. Kitten says:

Good point! nobody is closer to God than His own Son!

You asked the question. Now listen respectfully an honest answer, and asked Jesus, not judge.
We believe that all in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, or Mother Teresa.
Many Catholics and other Christians believe in the communion of saints, all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
As part of this family, you can ask your friends and family here on earth to pray for you. You can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
      That's it. Nothing complicated.
      With love in Christ.

Do not worship statues … we honor them, and we must pray for us .. like our friends and family make

  9. luvbeing says:

Catholics believe that saints are closer to God. So it can help heal our words to reach God faster.

  10. LIAM GERARD C says:

pray to the Virgin and other saints to intercede on our behalf to God and the statues are merely there to represent the saints not as objects of prayer and can pray to Jesus, but also other saints and the Holy Spirit Christians non-Catholics have a tradition of changing the rules to suit the times were the gods law is forever and does not change with the times

    because they are misled.

The reason why the Roman Catholic Church is facing the deterioration is because of all those who question our Church, while their minds are closed to our traditions, and then our responses. Everything negative that is thrown to the Catholic Church is widely and easily accepted as an excuse for many great things while the Catholic Church has given mankind through our Lord has given no credit! Shame on you who call yourselves Christians when you condemn other religions, in this case the Mother Church of Christianity! For two millennia, have suffered from all the negativity given to us, but we still thrive.
The sad thing about their understanding of the Bible and faith Cathoic is that all religions have different conceptions of what the Bible says. We as Catholics are not limited to read and take what is literally in the Bible, but "read between the lines." Our faith is derived from Scripture, Tradition, Faith, and the teaching of the Church …
Yes, we do pray and ask for the intercession of Mary, Holy Mother of God and the Saints, but never proclaimed in the same condition of Jesus Christ. just pray with them, because they are models of faith. They have lived as Jesus said, have given everything for the sake of their faith and accepted Jesus as their savior! We pray not to get into the same standing as God, but we pray to them because they have been chosen by God to teach us how to become true children of God!
About the "decline in membership." How do you know that we are decreasing? How dare you assume that! The sad thing is that before talking about what you think! Catholics are around you, sad thing is that their faith is weak and easily persuaded by others to question his faith, especially here in the U.S..
The Catholic Church has never been stronger! to remain strong and firm! Our numbers are growing especially in Asia and Africa of the continent! He called on poor countries of the Third World are the bastions of faith and not the countries that think they are world powers! Are one of the leading in the struggle of Christ and his saints and martyrs of the .. Philippines, China, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, etc.. these are the countries that even with their shortcomings, have faith in the greatness!
It is not about other religions without facts! You should question your self if they are Christian, if you act like you have the right to question others!
Vivere in pace! (Living in peace!)
