Why do people think that Catholics Worship Mary?
Catholics do not worship Mary, the Mother of Christ - as if it were a deity. Of all the misconceptions about Catholic belief and practice, this is the most absurd. Catholics are as aware as Protestants that Mary was a human creature, and therefore not entitled to the honors which are reserved for God alone. What many non-Catholics mistake for adoration is a deep love and veneration, nothing more.
Mary herself prophesied: “ now behold all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.''(Luke 1:48-49). Catholics know that every bit of the glory that is given to Mary to the glory of her divine Son, just as Mary magnified God
So why do you think Catholics do?

Catholics do not worship Mary, but is important because without it we would not Jesus, it should be appreciated that it gave us
Is dead and can not hear that "prayer" with her. And, of course, no one in the Bible never did well. Because you're dead.
Catholics are not saved Christians.
Why? because, as has been mentioned by others before me, says the Pope recalls the Pope? to call itself a "representative of Christ on earth" and "successor of the apostles?"
Since Vatican Collection Volume 1, the Second Vatican Council, the council and post conciliar documents. General Editor Austin Flannery, OP New revised edition of 1992, Costello Publishing Company, Northport, New York. 1992 pages 420-421 (section 65)
65. But while the majority of the Blessed Virgin of the church that has reached perfection she exists without spot or wrinkle (cf. Eph. 5:27), the faithful still strive to conquer sin and increase in holiness. Prayerfully meditating on her and contemplating her in the light of the Word made man, the Church reverently penetrates more deeply into the great mystery of the Incarnation and becomes more and more like her spouse. Having entered deeply into the history of salvation, Mary, in a way, unites in his person and again echoes the most important doctrines of the Faith, and as she is the subject of preaching and worship that encourages the faithful to come to his son for his sacrifice and love of the Father. After the search of the glory of Christ, the Church becomes more noble, as its type, and continually progresses in faith, hope and charity, seeking and doing God's will in all things. The Church, therefore, in his apostolic work also rightly expects of it that gave birth to Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, so that through the church he born and could be increased in the hearts of the faithful. In her life the Virgin has been a model of that motherly love to all who joined in the apostolic mission of the Church for the regeneration of mankind should be animated.
IV. THE CULT OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN IN THE CHURCH (1)
66. Mary has by grace been exalted above all angels and men to a place second only to her Son, the Holy Mother of God, who participated in the mysteries of Christ: she is rightly honored by a cult especially in the Church. From the earliest times the Blessed Virgin is honored under the title Mother of God, whose protection the faithful took refuge in prayer in all their dangers and needs. Therefore, after the Council of Ephesus, there was a marked growth in the worship of the people of God to Mary, in veneration and love, in invocation and imitation, according to her own prophetic words: "all generations will call me blessed, because he who is mighty has done great things for me "(Luke 1:48).
Comments on this passage
1. Nowhere in Scripture are we told in the eyes of someone other than the Lord himself. We are told to fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfect our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Furthermore, it is Jesus who is the model of virtue, not Mary. Although it was very blessed, and no doubt a pious woman, she still needed a savior. Mary said: "And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior" (Luke 1:47). Contrary to Catholic teaching that Mary was without sin, Mary itself admitted that God was their savior. A person without sin does not need a savior. It is in the person of Jesus said that the grace and truth (and under), our example and our eyes should remain on him.
2. "Wife?" Yet the research to discover what is meant.
3. The only proper object of preaching and worship God. Jesus said, "… You must worship the Lord your God and serve Him only "(Matthew 4:10). Mary's incredible risk for the subject of preaching and worship were both warned about in Exodus 20:4-5, "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or below ground or water under the earth. "Do not worship or service, for I the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on children, the third and fourth generations of those who hate me. "God clearly warns against the creation of any idol before anyone should bow. Needless to say, the countless images of Mary Catholic churches strewn all around the world, are certainly most of the shrines of idolatry, and thousands of times a day, Catholics the world over breaking the commandment of God by bowing before these images in worship.
4. We must look to Christ alone. When you take your eyes off Jesus and put into anything else, or any other person, he was taken the wrong way.
5. Where is this taught in Scripture? Where it says that Mary was exalted above the angels and the men second only to his son? This would mean that Mary is a little less of Jesus, the creator of the universe, in the position. I assumed its place is a place of authority, holiness, etc. Vatican II, the comments are not biblical. This teaching can not be found in Scripture and should be abandoned.
6. This is a misleading term. Mary is the Mother of God in that God created the universe, had a mother. That would be too close to Mormon theology. By contrast, Mary is the mother of the human nature of Jesus, not the mother of the divine nature.
However, one can say that in a sense she is the Mother of God, if that means that is carried within the Incarnate Word. This incredible privilege does not mean that God, being infinite and holy, was nursing in his chest after his birth. But it does mean that the person of Jesus. It is human nature to feed, and not the divine.
(1. "Cult" in this sense means a community of believers and not the "non-Christian cult", which means that is often used by the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.)
Actions speak louder than words. Catholics in many ways trying to cover their acts by using other expressions that are not worship, but more of wanting to kill someone who tries to destroy a statue of Mary. which for them is the "Mother of God" "
Not! ????????????
All my gay friends use to call me Mary,,, or sometimes Nellly Nancy,,,
I really liked it, but Mary
Then I changed to the fact
Kristina
such a good ring do you think
I am Catholic, and says that the statues of worship as well. I think people of your ignorance on the subject. Although I say that Catholics "worship Mary" is meant to be cruel, I do not think everything is so bad. Cult to someone:
1.To honor and love as a deity.
2.To respect ardent or adoring esteem or devotion
Mary is obviously does not know God, but Jesus' mother, and she has my devotion. Therefore, all those who say that I worship Mary, yes I do. What is the alternative?
Some no doubt find the following offensive, but that was not my intention. Please read carefully what is written below, and judge for yourself as to its accuracy;
Only prayers are offered to deities, therefore, prayer to Mary is a deity.
Roman Catholic doctrine has made it a "co-redeemer with Jesus, thus elevating the status of Jesus, making her a deity.
A document of the "Blue Legion" (a Catholic organization dedicated to Mary), approved by the Vatican imprimatur Mary appointment, saying that "through the Rosary, will save the world." Jesus is the Savior of the world, so once again, that amounts to deity in Catholic doctrine.
In Genesis, when God cursed the serpent to deceive Eve, was promised a Savior, who is Jesus Christ.
All other Bibles say in Genesis 3:15 (Nkjv for example);
Genesis 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between your seed and your seed shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise His heel. "
Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible says in Genesis;
Genesis 3:15
15 I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: to crush your head, and you hoped to find in his heel.
According to the Douay-Rheims translation of the promised Messiah is Mary, not Jesus.
Anyone praying to Mary, the "saints" or any other dead person is guilty of necromancy, which is communication with the dead. Nowhere in Scripture does say that we will pray to the dead.
Saul, first king of Israel tried to communicate with the deceased prophet Samuel, and was destroyed in communication with a "familiar spirit" (a demon) who impersonated Samuel.
I Chronicles 10:13-14
13 So Saul died for his transgression he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, who did not have, and also ask for a lawyer that had a familiar spirit, to inquire about it;
14 And do not ask the Lord: therefore he killed him, and became the kingdom of David to the son of Jesse.
Now read the following quote from Pope John Paul II in connection with Mary;
2. My venerable predecessor Pius XII, in his Encyclical Ad coeli Reginam to the text of the Constitution Lumen Gentium refers, as the basis for Mary's motherhood queenship addition, their cooperation in the work of redemption. The encyclical recalls the liturgical text: "There was the Santa Maria, Queen of heaven and sovereign of the world, just near the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ" (AAS 46 [1954] 634). Then it made an analogy between Mary and Christ, which helps us to understand the importance of the Blessed Virgin of the real situation. Christ is King not only because it is the Son of God but also because he is the Savior, Mary is Queen not only because it is the Mother of God, but also because, as the new Eva associated with the new Adam, who cooperated in the work of the redemption of mankind (AAS 46 [1954] 635).
Mary is the new "Eve"? Eva was married to Adam, and Mary is the mother of Jesus. No way, she could be the "new Eve", or she can "cooperate in the work of the redemption of the human race." Do not pay for our sins, Jesus did.
She is the Queen of Heaven? That rises to be equal to the King of Heaven, which is God, is blasphemy.
And making his "King of the World", that puts equality in God and Jesus, who alone is sovereign in the world. Mary did not create the world, Jesus did. Mary has not conquered the world, Jesus did.
Another quote from Pope John Paul II;
Quoting Pope Pius IX's Bull Ineffabilis Deus, Pope highlights this dimension of the Virgin's maternal queenship: "Having a motherly affection for us and who cares for our salvation, that their attention spans to the whole race human. Appointed by the Queen as Lord of heaven and earth, above the choirs of angels and the whole hierarchy of saints in heaven, seated at the right hand of his only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, obtained with great certainty what they are asking with her maternal prayers, get what you want and you can not deny "(cf. AAS 46 [1954] 636-637).
Mary is seated at the right of Jesus? If Mary is seated at the right hand of Jesus, and He is in turn to the right hand of God, this brings his being equal with God, which is blasphemy.
And by declaring that Jesus can not refuse any of her requests, on top of these places Mary at Jesus Christ the authority, which is blasphemy. And if he can not refuse their requests, which is lower than the sovereign, almighty God. Again, blasphemy.
You can not worship Mary, but his Church. And as is often quoted by the Catholic authorities, "there is no salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church," and that is to obey the decrees of the Popes, who is in disobedience to the teaching of the Popes and the Church if do not worship Mary.
just because someone is' blessed 'does not mean we owe to his praise and / or worship as we glorify God. but she was blessed as a human being I agree. but I am blessed in many ways. I do not want anyone but me worship?
Because they do. Read at your home or encyclopedia Catholic catechism, it says something about the veneration of Mary. Worship is worship.
For the Roman Catholics: "Having been an outsider for about 70 years, I just want to hide their Protestant religion and changed their bastardized behind much of the Bible out loud complaints about the" Mother of God. "
Do not worry people who are not obscured in a cloud of ignorance as the first three respondents Y'all do not worship Mary.
I have no idea why people think we Catholics worship Mary …
I HAVE TO SAY CHRIST Catholics are ab !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<>
