Why not say that Catholics Catholic Worship Mary?

Where are u get this information? I have never met a Catholic who worships Mary or any saint. We pray with them and ask them to intercede for us. Praying to Mary does not mean your worship. We only worship God. We have statues, rosaries and pictures to show others our faith and focus to help us as we pray. When I see my statue reminds me that she is there in heaven with Jesus and that you can pray for me as I can pray for a friend. Are closer to God becuz we r now in heaven now and I pray that your prayers are requested as well. Catholics DO NOT worship or MARÍA SANTOS! We honor them and respect them. They are holy people who are in heaven. I think Mary is your special becuz God choose to give birth to Jesus. What an honor! Was blessed. U How would you feel if God chooses u? Please stop thinking that Catholic worship becuz we do not. They simply have a greater respect for her to make other Christians.

    It appears that to outsiders.

Catholics put an unhealthy amount of devotion to the Virgin Mary. She was just a man God chose for Jesus. She was not an angel or a saint. Catholics pray to Mary and to emphasize their role too, that's what we believe. Nobody is closer to God than anyone, that Jesus said. God hears all prayers. Praying to Mary, your worship, pray to Mary because of what you arent praying to God. God is the only one who answers our prayers. His prayer, as a family member who died was a Christian. Just because you are in the sky doesn't mean you should pray for them.
Jesus became the mediator between God and man, and not Mary.

We as Catholics are not Catholics, we see a small part of its base of relgion and what we think of you and your religion in this small portion. The same way that (some of you anyway) does not look at the Catholic religion and the basis for its assumption that religion in our small part to see.
I think it is defined as prejudice or ignorance, but everybody does it, so no one group of people or even one person should be held as an example of this, all they do.
P.S. I was raised Catholic and still do not understand why we pray to Mary and Jesus and the saints and not god directley. Even after being raised in the relgion was still confussed about it, (Why do not you ask my great grandmother was in heaven too?) That's why it makes my religion (which is less confussing).

You are correct. Ask Catholics to saints and Mary to pray to God with them …. but not to worship God. People who think otherwise do so only because they listen to hearsay and not take the initiative to look it up before the judge improperly. Even some of the posters above who claim to know … have no idea. If what counts as do Catholics pray to Mary or the saints, then what they are doing when someone in your family dies, and say "Grandma, I love you and hope that is in a better place now. I miss you. ?

  5. modestly says:

FYI Catholicism was a form of Christianity is just one more set and doctoral CHURCH ", then that of any other Christian denomination? And as for the worship of Mary and the Catholic saints But not everyone worship God. Its shortcoming is that no one to advise people in your congregation to read the Bible every day!

  6. Lisa E says:

Is another way to demonize someone who is different from yourself. I'm so tired of hearing this from people Bautista …
They can not say why they think that. The preacher told them so. That's it.

  7. Matt 7:1 judge not says:

probably because we have been informed. Catholics worshiped Mary and I do not believe in Jesus, in fact until I met a "real live Catholic" (not common where I come), which was like "What? Wait a minute … "and told me what I really what about Catholicism. for this non-Catholic, let me say that I am of stereotypes.

  8. a_delphi says:

No bias mind.they not like you.

  9. Vol_Fan says:

are ignorant of Catholic beliefs and go outside to hear, instead of knowledge. I think sometimes they are afraid that Catholics are so organized.

  10. George J says:

Very good question, I truly agree with ui eat when people ask me this again and again

  11. candy says:

Because prayer is an act of worship. If we pray to someone or something, they are cult.

  12. Monica A says:

That is so true that the honor and respect, but always worship God.

  13. jmwest says:

I would not say cult, but as you mentioned that praying for the dead. When Jesus died on the cross, said that no longer need to go to a priest, or any other person, that Jesus is our intercessor.

  14. larky233 says:

listen to your question .. you speak so highly of Santa Maria … I think people to pray or worship is their right … when someone uses a Santa Cruz .. There are around his neck .. feel protected by it …. I have seen Catholics pray to the Holy Mother the Church .. .. on his statue …

  15. natex14 says:

It's just that some Catholics "pray" to Mary as a mediator between God and man.
Personally, I prefer to pray to God.

  16. babo1dm says:

Ive never said that Im not the judge,,,, I know that I pray directly to God alone

  17. chrstnwr says:

You are absolutely correct in what you say. Catholics do not worship Mary. It is a common mistake, even among some Catholics, as evidenced by some of the responses received. That is not really surprising that I have met many Catholics who do not understand their own faith and just go through the rituals that are taught in children.
I think it's more of ignorance, however, especially in the case of many non-Catholics. They see the statues of Mary (assuming idolatry) and hear the prayers addressed to it and assume that full of "cult." Instead of investigating who feel more comfortable with their assumptions.

  18. fireball says:

Y'all sure do talk about their lot and put a little statue in her yard. In fact I remember hearing a few sentences to the blessed mother …………

  19. Elway_th says:

Because I have to talk to people who say they are Catholics who say they pray to Mary and they are going to a Catholic church and they are proud of it. Just because you do not, does not mean that other Catholics do not.

  20. Tab H says:

to make a difference, you know you worship
      do not worry about noncahtolics

  21. jreality says:

Nothing personal, please. Just think that Mary has died and is sleeping, waiting for the master's call. The one that Jesus is alive, and he alone can be our intercessor.

  22. elizabet says:

I grew up in catholocism …. If the church and not teach their members to idolize and worship of Mary.

  23. Mommymon says:

Do any of you do this with Moses? Or Aaron? Jeremiah O? Elijah?
A bit strange that only Mary and collect all those after it, but none before. Why is that?
And why do you think are in the sky? Not that the purpose of defeating a resurrection, and then a day of reckoning? If you are in heaven and bad people in hell … which has already been tried. No need for a day of reckoning.
