I grew up Baptist. and she has taught children --- AC but my curiosity on Catholic beliefs. and now I have caught myself in a very small space .-- when Jesus returns to Nazareth is said to have been received by his brothers and sisters. Catholic Bible says in my notes that the word brother and sister could mean cousin in Hebrew ... but if that were true, not just say as it did when Cousin Mary went to visit his cousin? "that always weighs on my mind.

Mary remained a virgin throughout her life has always been the belief of true Christians, even before the Christian Bible was compiled. Even Martin Luther believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary. Protestants and others who insist on casting that Mary had other children to base their beliefs on the erroneous interpretation of the Bible. An important historical document which supports the teaching of the perpetual virginity of Mary is the Protoevangelium of Santiago, which was probably written less than sixty years after the conclusion of the earthly life of Mary (120 AD), when memories of their lives are still alive in the minds of many.

No, it is not clear and has always shown that she was a virgin. See the book of Esther for that --- Jose understood that his function is to be the King of "eunuch". Also, people continually try to bring things in this world of things in the world of God and the two do not go together. Even Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world." Apart from anything else, believes Jose - and the Lord has him in a dream telling him that Mary had the baby --- you honestly believe that increase in the sack with Mary, the first chance came after that - - oh no . I am sure he had visions of what happened to the men who first touched the Ark of the Covenant -. The idea that Joseph and Mary had sex and many more children is the only progressive liberal party trying to tell people that the whole world --- even the most sacred can not control their impulses, why even bother --- --- throughout the world do have sex because you can not help it --- abunch of hog wash!

There is no verse in the Bible that the Church contradicts the view that the blessed mother of God was always a virgin. She was the Ark of the New Partnership and the desecration is not possible. Scripture that refer to words that did not have sex at any time but time is marked. Said, that she was doing in the virgin birth of Jesus, but says nothing about whether or not she had sex later. Therefore, those who believe this suggests that she and St. Joseph had sex after the birth of Jesus is reading something in the Scriptures it does not say. Most people do this because of the prejudices they want to believe that the blessed mother ship was not without sin that she should have to bear the Savior of the world. Satan is the author of such a belief, and declaring that, if true, that Jesus was an impostor and a liar that the world still awaits the prophesied Messiah. He was not! God bless! In Christ Fr Joseph NOTE: Daisy -- "Reference to P. José. Matt13, 53-56, in fact speaks of Jesus having brothers, Jacob, Joseph, Simon and Jude, and sisters, also Mark 3, 31, also speaks of his mother and siblings, so the Bible states that Mary had other children after the birth of Jesus, so that no one is reading something in Scripture that ISN, no, because I have 2 scripts of the Bible, perhaps you should read, can only be that Satan is blinding eyes.It is true, but certainly does not mean that Jesus is a liar y. an impostor, more like the Catholic Church " I know you do not know biblical languages because if you did know that in the original language of San Marcos and San Mateo speaks of kinsmen, not brothers. They were probably cousins. We know that James was his cousin and not his brother. So what have you done evil to the Scriptures. If Jesus had brothers then blessed the mother had not been entrusted to the care of San Juan, and if he had brothers who know their descendants today. The Church would have to protect information. Historically it would have some record of his brothers, but because none has ever had. You seem very selective about what they believe in the Bible. The Catholic Church is the only Church founded by Jesus Christ. He said that to withstand all times, the gates of hell shall not prevail against it and that is the "pillar and ground of truth." The NT reading the Scriptures were written by the author and Catholic Christians. Therefore, according to Jesus, we place our confidence in the teaching of his Church and not the false teaching of men. The womb of the blessed mother of God is sacred and Holy Ark of the New Partnership and no man can defile or desecrate without suffering the wrath of God. All Christians in all places and at all times have known these facts. Only in the last couple hundred years that the heretics have denied what all Christians have known throughout the history of our faith. Jesus is not a liar and an impostor because you are wrong and which is fed from false teachers. God bless! In Christ Fr Joseph

The text actually says, "until she had given birth to her firstborn son." There are two things to be done on the language used here. First, the word "up" simply means "so far." It does not mean that things changed after that time and that Mary and Joseph had relations. It simply means that there is no relationship before this point. The second is the Protestant misinterpretation of the term "firstborn son." In biblical times, it was merely a legal term. It was never an indication that there are other children after Jesus. Also, Mary says that she is "the handmaid of the Lord." (See Luke 1:38) This is indicative that it was a temple virgin. This was unusual for Jewish girls, but still acceptable. As a temple virgin, Mary would have been totally devoted to God, as indicated by his own statement. Yes, she was promised to Joseph at the point that Jesus was conceived in her womb by the power of the Holy Spirit, but Joseph was much older than her, most likely at least double their age at the time, and most probably also a widower. Their contribution has been the respect for their vows of virginity and consecration to the Lord, which is why it was chosen to be his spouse. Many Protestants also the Bible says that Christ had brothers and sisters. Again, this is a confusion of language. While Joseph may have had several step-brothers of Joseph first marriage, the word "brother" or "sister" simply means "close relative" in this time period. In fact, today the term is used when we call our close friends or cousins "brothers" or "sisters" or when referring to other Christians as our brothers and sisters in Christ.

That are incorrect when you say that "obviously". It is certainly not clear that Mary never had sex with Joseph. There is no verse that says that Joseph "lies in" Mary and "begat a son," with Mary. There is no verse that states that Mary had no children other than Jesus. That are adding to what Scripture actually says. The word "until" means "until." This does not mean, "until now, but not after." Scripture says nothing about what happens afterwards. If you want to go by Scripture alone, read: "Do not know, because Scripture is not clear."

Matthew 1:24-25: When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife in his house. I had no relations with her until she had a son, and he named him Jesus. "Until she was a child" The evangelist relates to emphasize that Joseph was not responsible for the conception of Jesus. The Greek word translated "until" does not imply the normal civil behavior after the birth of Jesus, nor exclude them. Therefore, this verse confirms the virginity of Mary before the birth of Jesus, but neither confirms nor denies their virginity continuing after birth. With love in Christ.

Have you made the brothers of Jesus / Mary was a virgin? I have to say that Jesus had no siblings and that Mary was a virgin. I can also back it up with an argument that is not based on religion, but rather on the basis of science and socio-economic structure of the biblical period in the Middle East. I would like to divide into parts so it is easy to understand. Part 1 Let's accept that the Bible describes a person who really exists (ie Jesus), can be used as a reference for the overall structure of the life of Jesus how he plays. You do not even have to believe in God to believe that there was a guy named Jesus who was a bit of a revolutionary time. Part 2 Women's Bible in the Middle East is generally attributed to one man. That man could be your husband, father, brother, brother, son of the law, or a good relationship. Unless a woman was capable of maintaining itself some exceptional circumstances (very rich family, prostitute, royalties) that a man would. Mary was not rich, not royalty, not a prostitute (she did get married after all). Part 3 We know that Joseph was alive at least until Jesus was 12 years old. There is a gap of 18 years in the Gospels. We see Jesus, when Mary is 12 after he lost and then found hung in the temple talking with the rabbis there. We note the following when the wedding in Canna 18 years later. Nothing was said about what happened during those 18 years. However, Mary is now traveling around Jesus, and Joseph is not in sight. Because of this, we can assume that Jesus is now the caretaker against Maria Jose Jose is already dead. It is very common that young women to marry much older men, so that widows are totally normal at that time. Part 4 Because Joseph was surprised when he learned Mary was pregnant, we can safely assume that it is not Jesus' biological father. We know he was alive during the first 12 years of marriage to Mary, who died before their 30th anniversary of Mary (when the wedding took place in Cannes). Therefore, if they had sex who were between 12 and 30 years to procreate. Part 5 Birth control at the time was very minimal. It is very common to have many children. We know that Mary reproductive system worked because it was capable of carrying Jesus, and give birth without adverse effects later. When there is a problem with fertility, the problem is usually with the female. Female reproductive systems are much more complicated. Everything rides on the success of an egg compared to men a system in which a few thousand bugs are not big problem. Taking into account the fact that control was minimal at birth, the chances of Mary and Joseph never procreate after 12-30 years of sex are very rare. Part 6 Just because other children are not mentioned in the Bible does not mean he does not exist. However, as Part 2, a woman had to be connected to a man in Biblical times. When Jesus was on the cross, he knew he was dying and that Mary will be attached to the other. The obvious choice for a woman are: His father (who was dead) Her husband (who was dead) His son (dying) His son in law from her girls (not all) Her other children (not any) This makes the question of "how do we know that no other child or children in the laws?" Part 7 While Jesus was dying he told his mother (Mary) that one of his disciples (which is never mentioned by name) was to be his new son, and that this disciple was to treat Mary as his or her own mother (ie, be their guardian). There would be no need to allocate to each of his new charges if he had an obvious choice as another child or a son in law. This would simply mean that any children / child if there were laws. Furthermore, we assume that single women are not brothers, because it would have to relinquish her as a sister or wife to the disciple, and he never gets anyone to care. Given the above information, I think it is reasonable to assume that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus was an only child. You can reach this conclusion, even if you are an atheist.

We know he was alive during the first 12 years of marriage to Mary, who died before their 30th anniversary of Mary (when the wedding took place in Cannes). Therefore, if they had sex who were between 12 and 30 years to procreate.
Part 5
Birth control at the time was very minimal.
Part 6
Just because other children are not mentioned in the Bible does not mean he does not exist. However, as Part 2, a woman had to be connected to a man in Biblical times. When Jesus was on the cross, he knew he was dying and that Mary will be attached to the other. The obvious choice for a woman are:
His father (who was dead)
Her husband (who was dead)
His son (dying)
His son in law from her girls (not all)
Her other children (not any)
This makes the question of "how do we know that no other child or children in the laws?"
Part 7
While Jesus was dying he told his mother (Mary) that one of his disciples (which is never mentioned by name) was to be his new son, and that this disciple was to treat Mary as his or her own mother (ie, be their guardian).

24 Exsúrgens a Somne Ióseph autem, sicut fecit ei præcépit Angelus Domini, et accepit coníugem Suam. 25 and no cognoscébat eam primogénitum Donec péperit Filium suum: et Iesum uocáuit nomen eius. [MATTHAEUS I, XXIV, XXV] 24 And Joseph rising from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took him to his wife. 25 And knew her not until she gave birth to her firstborn son: and called his name JESUS. [Matth. 1, 24-25] 25 "until she gave birth to her firstborn son" ... These words and other heretics Helvidius more impiously inferred that the blessed Virgin Mary had other children besides Christ, but St. Jerome shows, by divers examples, that this expression of the Evangelist was a manner of speaking usual among the Hebrews, to denote by the word until, only what is done without regard for the future. Therefore, it is said, Genesis 8. 6 and 7, that Noe sent a raven, which went out, and not return until the waters were dried on the ground. Ie, no more returned. Also Isaiah 46. 4, God says: I am to grow old. Who dare infer that God should cease to be: In the first book of Machabees 5. 54 And he went to mount Sion with joy and gladness, and offered holocausts, because it was not one of them had died until he returned in peace. That is, no one was killed before or after he arrived. God says to his divine Son: Sit at my right hand until your enemies your feet. May sit no longer after his enemies are subdued? Yes and for all eternity. St. Jerome also proves by Scripture examples, that an only son, was also called firstborn, or first begotten: because according to law, the firstborn men devoted to God Sanctify me, saith the Lord, every firstborn that openeth the womb among the children of Israel, etc. Ex 13. 2.
