The Eucharist is supposed to literally transform the wafer and wine into Jesus' flesh and blood. Taken with the belief that Jesus was divine, that makes the Eucharist after the wine and wafers * really * God, not only symbolically.

"Worship the Lord present under the Eucharistic species." Who does the Catechism say that we adore? LORD. Repeat after me - the worship of Jehovah. LORD. Lord, Lord, Lord. Worship the Lord.

Where the authority of his church to interpret the Bible come from? My authority comes directly from the Church of Jesus Christ himself. As I said before, you may not use the Bible to "prove" nothing to choose not to believe. That said, there are many passages that show the Eucharist to be much more clear than a symbol. The first place to look is John 6:25-71, where Jesus promises the Holy Eucharist. This account, which occupies 2 / 3 of the chapter, Jesus describes the exchange with a group of disciples, probably numbering several thousand as this case continues to feed the 5000 (most of the previous 1 / 3 of the chapter) and these He has disciples continued to seek more of this miraculous bread. After all, Moses provided bread for those who followed him during his wanderings in the desert. Jesus said that He is the living bread which came down from heaven and those who come to Him will never be hungry. The disciples did not understand and complain because Jesus said that He descends from heaven, but they know that He is a man, they know their parents. Jesus said again that he is the living bread which came down from heaven and anyone who eats this bread will have eternal life. Disciples understand Him literally and begin to dispute among themselves because they do not understand how you can make them eat their meat. Jesus highlighted below, this literal interpretation stating four times [in four verses (53-56)] that have to eat his flesh and drink his blood, or that is not eternal life. The Greek verb used in these four verses of "eating" is much stronger than the word used earlier in this speech, in this case, literally means "to chew, gnaw," hardly a word to be taken symbolically. Jesus then tells the disciples that "the Spirit gives life, the flesh counts for nothing." In other words, stop worrying about food from their flesh and start worrying about food for your Spirit (notice that speaks of "the flesh" and not "my flesh," He is talking about the meat John 3:6). So many of his disciples, the only place in Scripture where people no longer follow as a matter of doctrine, to have understood the man, literally, and he fully understands that this is not to change or modify comprehension, because it is misunderstood. Jesus asks his disciples if they wish, but also to leave Peter, speaking for the rest, he said that although they do not understand, that continue to follow him because they know that He has been sent by God for their salvation. It is interesting to note that this is the first time in the Bible which states that after leaving Judas Iscariot to betray Him (Judas did not believe that Jesus could eat their flesh and drinking his blood and to the left at the Last Supper, when instituting the Eucharist). The second place to look is among the Gospel accounts of the Last Supper, and in turn, Mark 14:17-26. This account is the promise of John 6 to give his body and blood have been met and that begins by noting that Judas betray a man leaves, the second time in the Bible that mentions Judas betrayal. During the liturgy of the Easter elder president explain the importance of the elements. Following the custom of Jesus took bread, and then the cup, and after giving thanks (the Greek word is eucharisteo) departs from the usual importance, and instead says "this is my body ... This is my Blood. " When God speaks, what comes in that is pronounced (God said "Let there be light ..."). Then said his blood is the blood of the covenant which is shed for many. This is the only recorded time in life where Jesus uses the word "pact", a word that is used in the Jewish liturgical sense, means the formation of a sacred family bond irrevocable. And during the Passover of blood marked the homes of members of the family of God, so now, drink your blood marks from members of his family. The third place to look is 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 St. Paul, where we said that, when both the bread and the cup to participate in the Body and Blood of our Lord and that we are united because we all eat the same bread that is Christ. It is terribly difficult to engage and participate in something that is real and not figurative. The last place to look is 1 Corinthians 11:23-30. In this case, St. Paul reminds us that although he was not present at the Last Supper, received revelation directly from God. St. Paul then gives us the same account of events at the Last Supper, with the clarification of Jesus to "do this in remembrance of me." Memories of a Jew is much more to look back fondly on a past event, when a memory (memory) is offered the sacrifice, the participants made in the original event and participate in this event. Here, Jesus tells his apostles, a perpetual monument to his sacrifice. St. Paul, then to warn the Corinthians, most of whom believe that the Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Christ, that they will be excluded from participation in the food if you do not recognize the real presence of the Lord, or to eat and drink damnation to themselves. These words were not pronounced, because there would be no need for the warning, if the Eucharist is a mere symbol. Does this "prove" the Eucharist? That convinces me, because I only have three options: 1) True, 2) The Bible is wrong, or 3) Jesus lied. Of the three options, only the first is acceptable. I am a convert to Catholicism. I was born and raised a Protestant. As a matter of fact my father was a minister. My mother was a Bible teacher and deacon. I became a Catholic after a thorough study of the Christian denominations. One of the things that convinced me to convert was the doctrine of the Church of the Real Presence in the Eucharist. As Cardinal John Newman, also a convert to Catholicism says, "to study church history is ceasing to be Protestant." Many high-profile of Protestants are converting to Catholicism for the same reasons as this one.http: / / angelqueen.org / forum / viewtopic.ph ...

If a church wants to keep in close check, which institutes the means of grace ", that only the church can administer. as confession and absolution. Now, the fellowship is good per se. But for Protestants, Christ is seen as already living within them. Already been made holy by his presence. Catholics seem to say that to receive Christ in you, and if a person, you should eat transubstantiated his body in the "real presence". For us the real presence of Christ is within us all the time enemies of the Catholic, should contact the priest regularly ingenuity to make it happen.

John 6:53-58, 66-67 "Then Jesus said to them," Truly, truly, I say, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have in life, and who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal the life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live by the Father, so I come live by me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died, which eats this bread will live forever. "After this many of his disciples drew back and no longer went with him.
Is the flesh and blood of God. So you deny that John 6 is true, why not count the times that Jesus says to eat his flesh and drink his blood and which are real, in this chapter. Or maybe you're one of the verse 66 of John 6? Listen to the words of Gamaliel and his head: "38Therefore in this case, I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin it will fail. 39But when God, you will not be able to stop these men, you will only find yourselves fighting against God. "~ Acts 5 To deny transubstantiation is to deny the Incarnation.
