Repentance means that the remedy for sin so …. whether that means restoring what has been stolen or doing time so that it can not be replaced or whatever ….

Our God is a God who spared very time we pray for forgiveness or to pray in silence, in a confession or to order the acquittal of being acquitted of all their sins. God knows what is in our hearts and we can not deceive him, or do business. If you can humble enough to admit you made a mistake and try to correct that mistake of law which have made a bad start after all …… we are all human and all make mistakes … ….. for error is human but to forgive is divine. No. It's called the Sacriment of Reconcilliation / Penitencia for a reason. After confessing sins to a priest who is, give you a penance to perform, based on the sins confessed, to be fully forgiven. It is usually something simple like saying a certain amount of prayers, or someone saying you're sorry. In the case of theft or murder, etc., which are expected to confess to the police, and return the item or a prison Sentance etc. If you do not complete the task, the priest has given you, then you are not forgiven. Simple as that.

I have not done this so I do not know. But my understanding is that if you truly repent and make restitution to confess. So I'm not sure. I'm not sure whether the priest who forgives if you said that you refused to tell anyone or take responsibility.
