He will probably be asked to leave the priesthood (defrocked).
If you are repentant and receive the sacrament of reconciliation then you can still receive communion.
He probably would not be excommunicated.
Excommunication is a penalty as a result of serious crimes against the Catholic religion.
It is the authority imposed by the church or incurred as a direct result of the commission of a crime.
Excommunication excludes the offender to participate in the Eucharist or other sacraments and the exercise of any ecclesiastical office, ministry, or function.
Excommunication does not mean a loss of salvation. However, the crime that was punished for it can be a mortal sin.
There are few crimes for which the Catholics of Latin rite are automatically excommunicated (latae is the Latin term sententiae):
• Apostasy - the formal renunciation of religion, especially if the motive is deemed unworthy
• Heresy
Desecration of the Eucharist •
• Physical force against the Pope
• Attempted sacramental absolution of a partner in adultery
• Ordination of a bishop without papal mandate (for example, all the bishops in the government-run China Patriotic Church)
• For non-voters in the conclave, the disclosure of details of the conclave
• Simoniacal available from the office of Pope
• Violation of the sacramental seal of confession by a priest or bishop
• Acquisition of an "abortion
Remember that the purpose of excommunication is the correction and redemption of the person who has chosen to separate itself from the Church.

If a priest leaves the priesthood officially resigns, may be married and who can receive. Getting women pregnant out of wedlock is a sin, but can be forgiven when the wrong is corrected.
Excommunication not to cut someone out of the Church on a permanent basis, the Church would never do this. The Eucharist is vital to our spiritual growth and grace. Excommunication happens when someone disagrees with the teachings of the Church's heresy, or public mortal sin. He can be reconciled with the Church and God, to understand his sin, repent and receive absolution.
Therefore, a priest defrocked can even receive. He must repent and seek reconciliation with Christ through the Church.

"Outside of marriage"?
No.
The priest Snotty parish now my parents have two children running. Not married to one of their mothers. It is common knowledge that their children are.
Which caused a scandal, however, a few people mumbling over it, life continues as before.

then if you are married is a sin - no
if you are pregnant, then married someone to marry them is a sin - yes
a priest who must set an example for the people in the church, if not a good example then it should not be in that position.

I would think that if parents of a child by "marriage" that will likely be defrocked and excommunicated, and perhaps a lot of other things too, because most children were born for sex.
