Any Catholics? Suicide question?

My cousin and I are Catholic, and recently committed suicide.
He went to church every Sunday and confession every Saturday.
He carried the Holy Scapular Brown when he died.
Our priest said it was in May of Purgatory because he was "sick" and God had mercy on him.
But I was always taught that it was a mortal sin?
I am worried about his soul.
If you are not Catholic and do not believe me, do not open your mouth and judge me.
  Thanks:)

  1. robert C says:

be guilty of a mortal sin are 3 criteria to be met
    A serious issue
    Full consent
And full awareness of their actions
respond to your question is with God, and merciful God who is love is also, to have the peace of the fact that it was about you and pray for him

  2. seeker says:

to begin no purgatory … …. so that their leader is flawed in its response at the outset.
Jesus already gave the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all.
im sure you've read John 3:16
