  1. BibleCho says:

Well, that depends on who you are, where you live, etc etc etc
First, "Christian" means "follower of Christ." Anyone who believes that Jesus is the savior and his "only begotten" son of God is a Christian. This includes Roman Catholics and Protestants, as well as many other groups. Note that some Protestants say that Catholics are not Christians - but these people use a very irregular definition of the word "Christian", not found in any dictionary or the Bible.
Next: Protestants. Includes all of the Protestant Christian sects
      a) any sect that split from the Roman Catholic Church after the Great Schism, during and after the Protestant Reformation
      b) any sect of the division of sects in the letter a)
      c) any Christian sect that arose independently of any Christian sect from the time of the Protestant Reformation
For example, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Assyrian Church of the East are not Protestants, while the former Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church and Jehovah's Witnesses are all Protestants.
Then, Roman Catholic - describes the Roman Catholic Church, the church whose leader is the pope in Rome (which is why it is called ** ** Roman Catholic Church).
      Now the hard part: Catholic
The Roman Catholic Church believes that the Catholic Church. As far as I know, only twice in its centuries of history is an official document of the Roman Catholic Church uses the term "Catholic" instead of simply "Catholic." SO, the majority of Roman Catholics consider themselves simply "Catholic."
Here in the West, "Catholic" almost always refers to the Roman Catholic Church. Therefore, most of the time, in the West use the label in the same way as Roman Catholics.
However, there are several other churches with "Catholic" in its name as the old Catholic Church. Therefore, it is useful to specify "Catholic" to make it very clear that * * Catholic Church is under discussion.
Another important point is that churches that do not use "Catholic" in their name are considered ** ** Catholic Church (just as we consider the Roman Catholic Church ** **). These include the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches. In this sense, these churches do not usually take the "c" of "Catholic." Thus,
The Eastern Orthodox Church believes that the Catholic Church ** **
The Eastern Orthodox Church considers the Catholic Church ** **
The Catholic Church believes that the Catholic Church ** **
      etc etc
Therefore, it is understandable why they get confused. However, as said earlier here in the West is actually * more common is that "Catholic" refers to the Roman Catholic and not to any other meaning of the word "Catholic."

  2. John D is back says:

Catholic is the generic term used to identify Catholics, Protestants are another branch of Christianity (like the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox).
The differences are surprisingly modest. The main issue of contention between the Apostolic Church (Catholic, Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox) and the Protestant Church (es) is a requirement for clergy, the papal authority, the position on divorce, communion, and "only Scriptures "arguments. Find the history of the early church in the network or at your local library for more information.

  3. WRATH OF THE FIST says:

Not all Christians are Catholics, but all Catholics are Christians, who hope to resolve your little chaos.
You have named 3 Christian denominations, but I suspect this is another dig at the "Catholics are Christians?" Question.

  4. Jay says:

protestantes son diferentes de la católica principal diferencia es que la Iglesia Católica acepta la evolución i think.Roman católica es sólo la forma más original de la religión católica

  5. Fireball says:

Is similar to the Orthodox and Catholic RC ….. which are very strict …
Protestant rituals doing less and not telling people what to eat, how many children have, and so on.

  6. Wayf says:

Protestants are not Catholics. Separated from the Catholic Church for years, hence the name of "protest" ants.
