Catholicism on the question …?
I am a nondenominational Christian, and my husband was a Catholic, however, has been years and years since I had been to church. I want to raise my children Catholic, but I would prefer to be a bit liberal. I know nothing about Catholicism, confessions, etc. What I want to ease into the change in culture. Does anyone have suggestions on a look for a church? What should I look for? I am completely lost!

if you want a religion with a strict moral code and an unwavering faith is the Catholic faith, but if you want a cafeteria-style liberal who can choose, and there are around 40,000 different denominations, also get her husband out of his ass and make them interested. god bless
Meet and talk with parishioners about the church. The way they live their lives will tell you more about the church than I do. Learn everything you can about the pastor and other priests.
In light of the controversy surrounding the Catholic priests did not allow my child to spend time alone with any priest (including confession time). Remember: the Catholic priests get transferred from one parish to another all the time. If a priest is accused of the violation, the Catholic Archdiocese of policy usually only send him to another church - not to warn the members of the church regarding the history of the shepherd.
Besides, membership of a Catholic church can be very rewarding, especially when it comes to relationships you can develop with other parishioners.
Go to a few Catholic churches in the area. While the services are the same, some have progressed to have "newer" songs. If you like the pastor, service, etc voluntary clubs offering. You will find, as others of the faith, make new friends and having a good time doing it! Also in order to convert to the faith, you have to go through the RCIA program. This will give you the details of faith and help guide the entire process of initiation Catholic. Since it has been a while since her husband has gone to church, it would be a great thing to do as a family.
Why do you want to raise your child Catholic? You're not a Catholic and her husband had left the church. Are you aware that this is not a Roman Catholic doctrine is taught by men or who are studying under the Apostles? But, however, boast that the RCC is the "original" of the church, the apostolic teaching doctrines. I have read all the manuscripts left by men who have studied under the Apostles, and I can guarantee that the CR is not the real thing.
It is better to raise your child in a non-denominational church to submit to him or her unscriptural teachings.
Why do you want to raise your child Catholic, but do not know anything about Catholicism?
This is what I do, I'd like to do some research on the Catholic church in the first place. To be honest the Church is one of the most legalistic of all religions, which means a lot of rules, not liberals. Why not find a church in your area that has no structure of legalism? This way you can find your way while raising her son in the church. God of peace and best wishes for you!
If you do not know anything about Catholicism, how do you decide, possibly to raise your child in that kind of Christianity? How do you know that, possibly, "liberal" Catholics would be better than the orthodox Catholicism.
You need to read some books at least. Try "Being Catholic by Thomas Howard (brother of Elizabeth Eliott) and" I really believe that Catholics "by Karl Keating. These two books together will give you enough understanding to determine if you really want to raise their daughter Catholic.
If you are still interested, you and your husband should take the next RCIA class (which is what I feel in need of a refresher course on Catholicism), and then you can take from there.
To raise a child Catholic, would be an asset, and the classes you take will help you learn the traditions of their new faith. In many ways it may be better as an Episcopalian, since Vatican 2 that are closer to traditional Catholicism in many ways, while it is much more liberal and progressive in others
Honestly you need to do is stay away from the churches to say or claim to be charismatic. That is the opposite of what you are looking for. Catholic churches, although they are very much in religion that can sometimes be interpreted as a radical. I am Catholic and very devout, but only if you are looking for a church that follows the Catholic religion just to attend a local church. you do not have to ge involved.
Let me suggest that you and your husband attend an RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) in your area. It is a program for people interested in the Catholic faith, those who want to learn more about the Catholic faith and who wish to deepen their Catholic faith, either new or new. It is very informative and open to all. There is no cost for this program. Usually meet once a week for a couple of hours in the afternoon. At the end if you want you can join the faith that is not pressure. At the end you will know about the teachings of the Catholic faith and to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested go to UIOGD.org and to help you connect to the RCIA program. UIOGD.org will do for your feet. Welcome and God bless …
RCIA is the Catechism classes for adults.
I have never witnessed since it was raised Catholic .. but I know that if they attend them .. and to show that essentially all you need to know in about 6 months. A bit like a boot camp for Catholic - and get everything you need.
There is also a book called "Why Catholic Do That?" Which is quite useful.
There is also an EWTN (Catholic Television) Answer Forum where anyone can search their database of questions and find answers. You can also send your questions that have not already responded. So if you have a question .. the EWTN "Catholic Answers" forum is good. http://www.ewtn.com/vexperts/conference ….
You could also http://www.catholic.com/ and phrases to see if there is an article on the subject. This site is best usually more controversial things like "Prayer to the saints" or "Reconcilliation" or "homosexuality" etc. etc.
You can walk into any Catholic church and see for yourself, but I do not recommend that, as their only exposure to Christianity, simply because there are reasons behind everything that is done in a service .. but perhaps not obvious to someone just walking in the streets.
You can still do it. But I would like to attend both and do some research online.
Whatever the faith to continue .. I think it is important that the child has a depth of faith. Kid's are very sensitive to the messages. As they grow and try to make sense of the complexity of the world .. over the contradictory messages they receive more confused, frustrated and angry that they can get.
It would be natural for a child to ask why mom and dad are going to different churches If God 1. What explains the different faiths can help .. but still left in questioning "who is right" - this is the kind of confusion, I am talking about.
It is best if both of you follow 1 coherent faith. It will also be less stressful on your marriage. Faith and money are the 2 main reasons for divorce.
Compare preaching wherever you go to the original Apostolic Church, if different, know that they are teaching a different faith, and clearly not the same Holy Spirit that is mentioned in the Bible as dwelling within the original church.
If the study of his writings will soon find that both the Roman Catholic, Protestant nor meets teach the faith as it was delivered.
Im fourteen years old and iv gone through 10 years of Catholic school …. the first step in finding a parish is a local list. every weekend to attend a church defferent. SEEE that one feels "right" to you. (There is a feeling!) or speak with the priest Msgr. and tell them your situation. depending on how your child is ole. they can participate in programs of the Convention or youth group …. I hope this helps! =]
Jenna,
All I can suggest to your family go to a Catholic mass
You can always talk to the priest, and possibly enroll in RCIA classes. This way you will learn about Catholicism.
Then you and your husband will be able to understand and raise your child in the Catholic faith.
READ THIS
Not change its previous ways.Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but by believing in me.Catholics many mediators that are supposed to call Mary, and I think God.They and Papas Fellows sinnless saints forgiven her sins. But the Bible clearly says this is what Jesus died for.How common people can forgive his sins, if one has sinned themselves. No witgout Jesus walked, without exception.
Liberals are going to hell. I think you should try to be Catholic. When her close to God, you will be happy. Trust me, religion in all the other crap. They have no proof, Catholics do! Look for God. For you are always looking for.

No offense, but why you would like to raise a child on something that you know nothing about?
talk to your local Catholic priest and ask his advice. It can help you more than I can.
Liberal? Read the Bible and see what God has to say about liberals … that can change their minds.
For starters, there's no such thing as a "liberal Catholic Church." There are a lot of "Catholics" who still call themselves Catholics, but ignored some of the teachings of his church and his sermons Pope.
For example, the Catholic Church is against birth control of any kind. However, I know that a number of self professed "Catholics" who use birth control. I do not know why these people think they are Catholic - they are not, in my humble opinion, that like to think of themselves as Catholics. For me, practicing Catholic means to be the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Catholicism, like McDonalds, which is the same every time you go in the world (as Ian Shoal would say, "that is the comfort and terror"). Before deciding to "increase your child Catholic, find out what is Catholicism, which is, what the teachings of the church are, and then decide.
Frankly, you could probably attend CCD classes (classes taught by the Catholic Church to teach what he has to do with Catholicism - that is required to be a member of the Catholic Church), and you learn a lot about it - No No cree which is committed to the end of the Convention to join.
Firstly, I think you should read a little about the Catholic Church because you are not Catholic - you can ask your husband too. It's a little confusing for people not born into it, because they have many questions - "Is it worshiping false idols?" "Is that the cult of Mary?" "How are three people in one God "- I suggest talking to a priest and telling him your situation. They will be understanding and help you as much as they can. They'll also tell you to learn more about Catholicism, because learning does not have two hours.
Finding a church - first find Catholic churches near you - you and your spouse to attend a Mass and talk to their priests. Find a church that you think will be better than a priest and you enjoyed talking to most (the priests will have no problem).
Good luck

Tempted by Satan, Adam and Eve left their loving relationship with God in Defeo
Just because her husband is Catholic does not mean that you should follow that … you know nothing about it .. Why not try to learn for yourself what it is then get your ideas and wash your child's brain …
It's really stupid that only want to teach something you have no idea … What you need is to find books on different religions .. and it is not necessary for your child to follow a particular religion as well.
Look for a church that is open and accepting. Oh sorry you want to raise Catholic, in which case only gradually let the priest that his way with him while preaching around the world that faith is not going to hell.
If you think you are lost now, wait until they are mixed in the Catholic Church …. I recommend you seek the wisdom of God in this sense, then you hear when worn.
Catholics here do not like, but please listen to those of us who do not tell! If you know the bible you will soon see that the Catholic Church does not teach what Christ taught!
There is no god .. Do not raise your child in a lie that he can go somewhere bright magical world where good and complete condemnation if he or she sins .. RAISE YOUR CHILD WITH THE TRUTH, NO Cover Up!
episcapal is cathlioc but completely libral.
