The belief that Mary is without sin originates in the idea that no ship could hold the dirty son of God.In other words, Catholics say that she could not have given birth to a holy child if she was not holy . An interesting idea, but more esoteric (you know ... all the cult of the Mother Goddess), while Scriptural. Now respect Catholics, the Bible says that Jesus was only sinless.Besides that there are a number of points to be taken into account by the Catholics. ITEM # 1 Chromosome of death and aging is passed from father to son mother. Now no aging and death is a symbol of sin, as seen on chromosome Genesis. Thus of death and aging is arguably the symbolic bearer the sin of a father child. Now, Mary may have sinned, but have not gone to the chromosome Jesus. This He is why I was immaculately conceived - without FATHER.Thus a ship may be dirty, and in this case was used to hold the Son of God. ITEM # 2 According to Catholic doctrine, Mary was without sin be a sin to child. Then how could Mary be sinless if their parents were not before his sin, and his to them, and so on ... If none of them would need a Savior, or its modern DESCENDANTS.Which kind of defeats the whole reason Jesus came to earth. ITEM # 3 Catholics claim that Jesus was the second (or last) Adam, Mary was the second (or last) Eve.They say it is a co-mediator with Christ. If was without sin, that makes sense that the Bible says. But because there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So to make the same claim is yhat Mary with Jesus is idolatry. ITEM # 4 Nowhere in the Bible does not say that Mary was sinless or ascended into heaven before death.Catholics may disagree, but for something to be valid from a Christian point of view, must be supported by scripture. If taking the opinion of the Pope on Mary literally are putting the word of man above the word of God. ITEM # 5 Worship the Lord your God, SOLO, says Mary Bible.Worship as well? Do'nt I think so. According to Christian theology, if not in the Bible is not true. Mary was a great woman, but she was not holy or sinless.

You answered your own questions to the Scriptures jeanmari Why she did not die on the cross, then, if it was a saint? Search for 1 Timothy 4 :1-5

Another Catholic Basher - oh well. Usually, I explain why we Catholics believe what we believe about the Blessed Virgin, but others have already done a great job of that. The conclusion is that Mary was kept from sin by a special dispensation from God, so that your child could be born of a virgin pure. You can accept or reject that information, like you, please. It is not an issue that goes to the hill of beans for those of us who do. Edit: Whoa, chrisgaffrey - that was great! I knew nothing of it. . . thanks for sharing that information. :-)

I am not RC. Mary was a saint - she was taken to heaven and then went back to the city of Enoch. Writing to which you refer is usually aimed at those who have yet to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master. It should be remembered that there is a Scripture that says: "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourselves"

Because all religion, and God is a building system - the 'facts' of any aspect of the belief system in question can be whatever''' elected leaders are. . . including those which are sacred icons.

No. She was just in the Bible. She was used to concieve Jesus, but she is not holy in any way. It was only a mortal woman and that is not perfect. And in my opinion, if you're calling Mary a holy idol of worship. Jesus Christ is the only one worthy of praise. Mary will not get to heaven. The only way that is Jesus.

The tradition speaks of the traditions of Jesus Christ. He preached and taught by voice. What He became the Apostles verbal, all that was orally taught, hence the tradition. If all the words that Jesus spoke during 3 years of his ministry had written numerous volumes of the New Testament. Not enough space in the world to hold all Jesus said and taught. Sacred Tradition is the word of mouth. Taught by Jesus to the Apostles, who preached in the whole world. The RCC teaches both sacred tradition that Peter was the first Pope and the Bible.

The Virgin was conceived without original sin. She is the only one (outside of Christ) it was. Santo? I think so.

Yes, Mary was a saint. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of death. The Hail Mary is taken from what the angel Gabriel told her. She was without sin. She wanted that whatever God ( "I am the Lords servant"). She is holy!
