Please reply only if you know 100%, And How do you know? My pastor said that Catholics believe that you go?
to a place called Purgatory, and if your family pays a lot of money for you, you have the opportunity to be saved again instead of going to hell? Why do Catholics believe in such things?
- Is there a biblical basis for the idea that 100% of "bad" people go to Purgatory Only?
- I do not think my grandfather believed in God 100%, going to hell?
- It is only confess my sins to God is not good enough? (Please reply only Catholics)?
- For Catholics Question: Do you believe that hell is even possible for Catholics?
- Catholics: Purgatory Question (Please Read the whole question)?

The pastor is a bit confused about the beliefs of Catholics.
We believe in Purgatory, but not the way he described.
The concept of purgation is hinted in the Bible. Here are a couple of places:
"But if someone's work is burned up, it will suffer a loss, the person is saved, but only through fire." 1 Cor 3:15
"Thus the authenticity of their faith, more precious than gold which is perishable evidence, though by fire, may be praise, glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:7
Is it perfect now? Most people would say no.
Will it be perfect in heaven? Most people believe so.
Purgatory (or purgation) is the process of God's love changing our imperfect in the same land in the perfect in heaven.
Depending on the amount of change required by different people, this may be a little easier or process.
Everyone in purgatory is on its way to heaven. I do not think Mother Teresa of Calcutta had a very hard time of it.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 1030: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s …
With love in Christ.
thats called indulgence and I do not believe in that. God's currency is not the money in his love. so if you give a great amount of love that is saved.
That was practiced by the Catholic Church for centuries. Martin Luther protested the Roman Catholic church because of this. It's called, "the sale of indulgences, which were more miracles performed by saints. Thanks to the Counter in the Catholic Church, no longer practiced. However, it can cree pray extra prayers to help their relatives killed in purgatory.
The truth can be distorted.
First it was the truth.
Then, the lies, deception, based on perversions of the truth.

Well I will try to give an answer:
Aparently purgatory is not really pushing or hell is a place in the middle. It is a place where people who have not been very good nor very bad move. Aparently the Catholic Bible has more books that it is not (correct me if I'm wrong) and that is where the purgatory CAMES. According to (New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1967, Tome XI, pp. 1034) in purgatory, the soul is pushnish for a while until he has paid his sin and he is allowed to enter the shelter. Never heard of some who are here to pay for land. you can not buy your way to heaven. This is not a biblical look at what the Bible says.
Ezekiel 18: 4 Look! All souls belong to me. As the soul of the father by the same soul of the son that I belong. The soul that sin which is death itself.
Roman 6:7 Because he has died has been acquitted from [his] sin.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, that they are aware of nothing, and wages have not, because the memory of them is forgotten.
According to the Bible there is no such thing.
AD 1500 called, they want their pastor back.
Do not. Your pastor does not know what he's talking about.
we believe in purgatory, so if you have lived a good life, but there are some sins that you need to compensate you can go to purgatory, and for them and then go to heaven. Basically, you're not bad enough for hell, but still not good enough for heaven. His family paid the money has nothing to do with it, way back, although some corrupt priests have no money and the promise that the family would go to heaven, purgatory, which has since left to my knowledge.
His pastor is misinformed. We do not pay money to escape hell and yes! there is a place called Purgatory.
Purgatory is real and can take years and years. Torture is hell itself. Only difference is that the souls in Purgatory do not despair. They know they see the face of God one day. The souls in Purgatory rely on our prayers and alms and masses to be relieved of their suffering and to be quickly released from Purgatory.
Many saints have gone directly to heaven because of his perfections, or a very short time spent in Purgatory. But the sinful souls who have not reached perfection in the land must pay for their sins, either in part, on earth or in purgatory, in order to appear perfect and pure before the Divine Majesty. Many souls from purgatory appeared to beg the holy fruits of the saints' sufferings, prayers and alms to be applied to their souls in order to obtain relief. Another big misconception is that a soul was holy and must be in heaven, and therefore does not need our prayers. Soul that could be one of the forgotten souls in Purgatory desperately hopes that our prayers.
This is a prayer that our Lord promises the release of 1,000 souls Purgatory each time it says:
"Eternal Father, I offer you the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in union with the masses said throughout the world today for the Holy Souls in Purgatory."
A very good book on purgatory that will make your eyes pop is "Charity of the suffering souls" by the Rev. John A. Nageleisen.
The main body of Christians have always believed in the existence of a place between Heaven and Hell where souls go to be punished for the sins and less to pay the debt of temporal punishment for sins that were forgiven. Even after Moses was forgiven by God, he was still punished for his sin. (2 kg. O 2 Sam. 12:13-14). The primitive Church Fathers regarded the doctrine of Purgatory as one of the basic tenets of Christian faith. St. Augustine, one of the greatest doctors of the Church, said that the doctrine of Purgatory "has been received from the Fathers and is observed by the Universal Church." True, the word "purgatory" does not appear in the Bible, but a place where lesser sins are purged away and the soul is saved "so that even by the fire" is mentioned (1 Cor. 3:15 ). Furthermore, the Bible distinguishes between those who enter heaven directly, calling "the church of the firstborn" (Hebrews 12:23), and those entering after a purgation, calling them "the spirits of the righteous made perfect. "(Hebrews 12:23). Christ himself said: "Amen I say to you, you did not leave there until you return the last Farthing." (Matthew 5: 26). And: "Every idle word that men speak, they must account for it in the days of the trial." (Matthew 12:36). These are obviously references to Purgatory. Moreover, the Second Book of Machabees (which was dropped from the Scriptures by the Protestant Reformers) says: "Therefore, it is a healthy and holy thought to pray for the dead, which may be loosed from sins." (2 Mach. 12:46). Ancient Christian tomb inscriptions from the second and third centuries frequently contain an appeal for prayer for the dead. In fact, the custom of praying for the dead - which is meaningless if there is no purgatory - is universal among Christians for the fifteen centuries preceding the Protestant Reformation.

JP gave a great answer, but I'd like to clarify that were not sold indulgences, but the charity work was an indulgence. Due to abuse and misunderstanding, the charity no longer an indulgence work for some 500 years.

Do not believe such a thing. The sale of indulgences completed as part of the counter.
Purgatory is a place of purification before reaching the sky. It is described as an unpleasant place, but full of hope - to be in Purgatory is a testimony of Heaven. Prayers of those left behind (family and loved ones) can help speed up the cleaning, but even if a person is totally forgotten and not said a prayer for them, leaving Purgatory, once it has completed its purification.
A person who is hell be fixed to Hell, not through Purgatory. Only saved through Purgatory, and then only long enough to be cleansed of the guilt of their sins so they can enter heaven.
Its pastor is the teaching that is.

Technically, limbo was never an official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. It was invented by Dante, as part of "The Divine Comedy" and was taken as canon by many Catholics. Recently, in recent months, Pope Benedict re-emphasize the non-canonical status Limbo.

Redeemed:
Interestingly, the concept of purgatory appears in Jewish education, if not by that name, and that prayer for the dead is beneficial for the present at the site.
It was not invented by the Roman Catholic Church, came from Jewish sources in a somewhat modified form.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15:
"For other foundation can no man, but what is established, which is Christ Jesus. But if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay stubble: Every man's work is manifested by the Lord's day shall declare, as evidenced in the fire and the fire is every man's work, what type it is. If anyone's work abide, which has built on this, get a reward. If any man's work record, who shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, but so as by fire. "
The Bible does not actually have the word in the same purgatory. The Bible makes several references to people being refined by fire as silver or gold, Catholics believe happens after death. They believe that they are punished until they are refined, pure enough for heaven. Prodistants believe these passages relate to the trials of life and that is why bad things happen to us. Personally, I do not believe in purgatory, because just before Jesus died on the cross said the man is crucified next to him, "today will be with me in paradise." He said that today will be in purgatory, and a week from Thursday, was allowed to Heaven "
That education was developed in the dark as a way to increase the revenue of the church. Catholics believe in heaven, purgatory and hell. The aim is twofold: to reduce the threat of hell, and people believing in the deception of works-righteousness unbiblical … and that such work can continue even beyond death, and to add money to their own coffers. No more selling indulgences (buying the exit from purgatory), but can be taught to lose the sky when you die and not go to hell … which is one of the most dangerous and heretical teachings in any of the pseudo-Christian religions.
Why believe in their pastor in these things?
Lol, whence comes this information:
"If your family pays a lot of money for you, you have the opportunity to be saved again instead of going to hell"

Dear Saved —
As you can see from the response of JP, Catholics do believe in a place called Purgatory. Now perhaps your pastor was simply trying to point out how absurd the idea of purgatory is.
In fact that is not in the Bible and is a doctrine created by the Catholic church.
There is another practice of the Catholic Church called indulgences, in which the priest can give money to a mass perfrom for someone who has died. (not biblical)
