Protestants and Catholics Help?
I'm really torn between these two religions. I was raised a strict Protestant, but I've never had a strong faith. There are so many branches of the Protestant church and it makes no sense to me that is a liar with a convicted murderer to hell.
I think you could be Catholic, but since I was raised in a strict Protestant household I do not agree with many things that were not enough about the Catholic Church. But when it comes to purgatory and how to see who goes to hell I agree with and gives me hope. Therefore, I appeal to the Protestants and Catholics tell why you think your religion is correct. I am confused and that terrifies me.
This was not terrified .. I mean the bottom line is you want to follow Jesus and that is a beautiful thing. Now you can simply choose the name that will help you to follow. Confusing, frustrating, flustering, but not frightening.
Why not make an appointment to speak with Catholic and Protestant clergy? You can ask questions, share concerns, etc.
there is no purgatory. I would suggest that the study of Martin Luther. Especiall its small catchism. Its objective was the reform of the Catholic church that the leaders of evil in those days. I have been in their shoes. All tried and demoninations became confused. Then established between the dem onation churches. Recently, after studying the lives of Luther and the catchism which was confirmed in the church luthern. It makes more sense than any I have ever known. I am 78 years old
We are part of the same religion btw. I am a Catholic myself, and I mean that we should not worry about these titles, and live the life that Jesus wants us to live, he does not care if we are Protestants, Catholics, or what it does, but be careful if you want to live Him and do His will.

You have to go in your Bible, study and analyze both their religions and beliefs, and then see who fits the beliefs of how you feel. God will know the peace that is completed at. You need to get the doctrine of Protestants and Catholic doctrine and how do you compare that with how we believe. Good luck

Religion is a good thing but do not you think they have much more value if it supports their relationship with Jesus rather than the religion itself is your God?
I know that Catholics and Protestants who love Jesus and are wonderful.
God wants spiritual fruits. Not religious nuts.
Catholics are right, because we follow a man influenced by the Holy Spirit. He is the representative of Jesus on earth. Catholics believe that the Bible is a tool, but not the highest authority. Protestants have a book that has been translated many times, and the words have changed and that the sense of relying on someone's personal translation.
If I were you, I would like to go to God in prayer about what decision to make, after all, it was worship. Please, where prayer, ask God to guide him, which adopted the religion, and then have faith and leave in their hands. And then when he answers with an open mind and an accepting heart. the best way to find answers is to search the Bible and prayer to combat. this is why its important to be based on the Word.

As a Catholic I believe that mine is correct because it is the oldest of all Christian denominations. I love the way we receive the Body and Blood of Christ. I mean, I get my Lord and Savior every Sunday - is impressive. I love the confession because I'm close to my father and I can talk to him about any problems you have. I also like many aspects, such as the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Protestants do not have a book that describes his beliefs as us. I like our traditions. If you have specific questions, ask me.
I also like the saints. It's nice to know that if my family members are sick, I can ask my friends to pray, and those in heaven with God. And best of all, I can ask God! =)

I am a Catholic to convert more than 30 years. I found my faith to be a comfort to me. I believe that those who have died in Christ and are now with him as do the Protestants. Here is my take prayer to the saints. In many places in the Bible God tells the prophet, if not for this person or that God will not help you. To choose between Catholic and Protestant, I think it would be useful to start with the way the Protestant churches took place, ie what issues are protesting Martin Luther, and from the perspective of Rome, why was excommunicated?

In my opinion, a fair assessment would focus on fundamental issues and not giving much weight the secondary issues. Also, you should get both a Protestant and Roman Catholic perspectives. Do not accept a church in the characterization of others.
In summary, I have tried to outline an approach to thinking about this problem. I think a person needs to take this matter seriously and do some reading and logical. I have other ideas about the CR, but I have not thought about how to express myself adequately to avoid the insult to my fellow RCC brothers and sisters in Christ, so that's it for now.
The other thing to mention is that Protestants are not united in their belief. Vary widely from denomination to denomination, and church to church within a denomination.
Many Protestant churches are liberal, meaning that the Bible is wrong about the life of Jesus, who do not believe the virgin birth, miracles, and resurrection were real events. This is worse than any error of the RCC. I would not hesitate in the choice of an RCC in a liberal church.
Some Protestant churches are crazy, in order to keep evaluating what you hear. If you hear things like the KJV is the only version of the Bible, or the pastor said that God speaks and has to obey it - run!
Read the scriptures daily, and you better understand the mind of God (Romans 12:2). This will give a decision. Seek God and man of wisdom.
Regarding your concern about hell:
I do not think we properly understand the teaching of the RCC in hell and purgatory. Liars go to hell beyond that provided by the forgiveness of Christ sacriface. This is not a question of purgation. Moreover, the degree of punishment in hell depends on the severity of their sins.
Read the Catechism of the RCC for the official Church teaching. Is available online.
Liberal Protestant churches teach the idea of eternal sentence to "scale", which is not one of the good works of a weight of sin.
Becoming a Catholic and the little things that take care of themselves. Finally, I found my true home in Catholicism. I was getting answers about baptism and the Heaven and Hell and all the rest of the Catholic priests who had never received a satisfactory response after Protestant ministers.
Not only that, but as I studied the Bible on my own, I found more and more passages to show that many Protestants lessons he had learned in my childhood were false, and that nothing taught in Catholicism contradicts the Scriptures. In fact, I felt, reading the Bible, Catholicism teaches that comes straight from Scripture!
The story told me a similar story. The Catholic Church, the oldest of the churches, is the only one founded by Christ. All other denominations were founded by men. For example, the Church of England, also known as Anglicanism was founded by Henry VIII in order to simply divorce his real wife (Catherine of Aragon) and marry his mistress (Anne Boleyn)!
As for Purgatory, the writing is very clear in this regard. Perhaps the clearest verse on the subject is 1 Corinthians 3:13-15:
"Every working man is manifested by the release day, as revealed with fire, and the fire will test what kind of work each has done. If the job that any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If some of the papers are burned, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only through fire. "

I was born and raised as a Catholic, and I believe in Catholicism, because it is the whole truth. The Catholic Church is the church founded by God himself, and I think that this says something about 2000 years. Today Christians do not believe everything written in the Bible is for them! Christianity is one of the most dishonest religions in the world second only to Islam! I do not believe in purgatory, and here's why. If there is a place called purgatory, the Bible does not say "And to the extent that it is appointed for men to die once and after this sentence is (Hebrews 9:27 NAS)", and under the Law, one can say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Heb 9:22 NAS), God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thess 5:9 NAS), these are just some things you can think of, but the most important reason is this, if there is a place called purgatory, then there would have been no reason for Christ to die on the cross and the payment for sin, because you might go to purgatory and do it well. Constitutes a direct violation of scripture and the Catholic Church can not explain this. Scripture is infallable, and never contradicts itself, so for this reason alone, purgatory is a work of fiction. Not allowed to forget, is appointed for each man to die once, after this ruling, which was absent from the body is being present with the Lord 1 Corinth 5:8 NAS (not in purgatory).
