Question about Catholic priests and nuns?
Must have the "uniform" (sorry, I do not know how to call them) all the time? Or do they sometimes wear "civilian" clothes when buying food at the supermarket?
- My question is Part 5 About the Catholic Church, Early Church, the Bible and the priests?
- When The Catholic Church decided that nuns and priests could go Mufti?
- This could be long questions so bare With Me! Why are not Catholic priests and nuns allowed to have sex?
- Someone knows what and / or clothing as the Black Catholic priests wear and what is material?
- What is the difference between Pastors, Reverends, Ministers and priests?

Using them is not habit forming, I hear.
Bruce Wayne does not wear the bat suit all the time? Same answer.
Most are authorized to use civvies.
In fact, the priests do not have a uniform normal except for the neck. Monks do. Most of the orders of monks and nuns do not require uniforms to be worn at all times. I believe that this occurred at the time of Vatican II.
Some habits take orders and not others. Some allow their members to leave the cloister and not others.
The strictest orders (cloisters and habits) that are growing at the highest rate, while the more lenient orders (no habits, cloisters not) on the way out.
No. Some do not ever bring distinctive clothing, and most are "civilian" clothes that sometimes used.
It is your choice (if they are diocesan priests), or the choice of the religious order to which they belong, if you wear the Roman collar or custom. Most women have the custom orders and you will never see it. Most wear the Roman collar priest only when working, some only on Sundays.
huhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmdon't know for sure that I could have imagined that according to "time" with all the other things in the media are willing to compromise too.
Priests often do not wear their clericals at the time of rest, holidays or such. Although I know a priest who always wore his collar to visit relatives in the rough neighborhoods.
The dress code of women religious (nuns) to vary the order. Usually all the religious orders or the habits of ordinary wear wear (modest) clothing.
With love in Christ.
Having grown up as a Roman Catholic, and have gone to Roman Catholic schools through the early grades 9, I have always listened to the nuns' uniform 'which is called a "habit", and the priests' uniform' , which is called a cassock. "Back in the day" when I was a
The Catholic school, back in the mid 1950's through 1967, the nuns and priests were never seen in their "uniforms" at least I realized. As Catholics in America decided to "liberalize" their adherence to Roman Cathology, I think it became acceptable for "Catholics in America" for nuns and priests to bring "civilization". But because it really is not such thing as "American Catholicism", what we care about what "American Catholics" think with regard to Catholicism, and that only what comes from Rome is truly Catholic. God bless.
Apparently they do not, at least, the nuns or sisters. I found this information from the following link: http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/message_ …
on the message board for Catholics at Beliefnet. Apparently not wearing their habits over several years. I hope this helps.
Depends on the Order. I wear my cassock and collar at any time I'm doing "work of the church. The rest of the time - jeans and a shirt.
Nuns - that depends, once more - on your computer. Some wear the habit at all times - some have a more "casual" habit - and some wear regular clothes all the time.
