The Catholic Church is still against gay marriage?
I know that many Christian churches are really against it, to the point of intolerance. But what about the Vatican? Do they still have a "firm stand" against gay marriage and are more politically correct in this?
- Biden will be excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church for its stance on Abortion and gay marriage?
- The Vatican feels as Gay Marriage?
- If there is any church that accepts gays as official members but not gay marriage or maybe yes?
- Catholic vs. Christian?
- I like being Catholic, but I am a supporter of gay marriage and women priests. What is religion for me?

There is no such thing as "gay marriage" in the Catholic Church. The Pope has not made an official statement regarding vote for or against the law of civil marriage.
<<Is Catholic church against homosexuals still marriage?>>
Yes, of course.
<<I Knowing each lot of Christian churches are really against it, almost to the point intolerance.>>
It is not about intolerance. These are the same-sex marriage is a theological impossibility.
<<But what about the Vatican? Do they still have a "firm stand" against gay marriage and are more politically correct in this?>>
The Vatican is not interested in being politically correct. The Vatican is interested in being theologically correct.
Hi,
Yes you are against it theologically and take a firm stand against it. What they are saying is that when you have homosexual tendencies, is not a sin in itself if you are born that way, but sin is to act on the calls, saying that all heterosexual sex outside of marriage including the traditional man and woman is sinful.
That said, Catholics in the civil and political matters have not been as vocal as other Christian denominations and keep the Anglican churches. You should note that the first three of the four countries that have same-sex legal unions, Canada, Spain and Belgium have majority Roman Catholic population. Senior government officials including Prime Minister of Canada when he was Roman Catholic through this legislation.
Cheers,
Michael Kelly
The official website of the Vatican considers gay people are evil. He says: Although the particular inclination of the homosexual person is not a sin, is more or less strong tendency ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil, and thus the inclination itself must be seen as an objective disorder.
Therefore special concern and pastoral attention should be directed towards those who have this condition, which is not to suggest that the experience of this orientation in homosexual activity is a morally acceptable option. It is not.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church accepts that people are born homosexual, as opposed to elected, however, argue that gays should remain celibate and sex we have is against God. By remaining celibate, and still no sin can enter heaven.
To answer your question more directly, is also opposed to gay marriage.
Potion # 9
The Vatican is against gay marriage, and probably will forever. During the Second Vatican Council (1960-1965), the Church did a lot of discussion about homosexuality, and a good 90% of the council decided to adopt a very conservative stance on this and condemn it outright. The common opinion about gays in the Catholic Church is that they are "living a life of sin," and this is what I have heard from several priests and religious figures EWTN ….
I really wish that the Catholic Church would have on gay marriage and it is. I also want to allow women priests and allowing priests to marry men. But then again, I am a very liberal Catholic myself. I hope this helped!
Yes, we only talked about this in class today, why we are against it because they can not get married in the eyes of the church because they have no point of playing, because two men or two women can not reproduce. What do you think God gave us to the sexual organs. I'm not saying I agree with these views, but we agree with the Church.
Yes
The Catholic Church believes that God Himself is the author of marriage and created a man and a woman.
The Church teaches that being gay is a sin, but all the single people (heterosexuals and homosexuals) are called to celibacy.
What civil governments to do is decide for its citizens and the country's constitution.
But the Church of Jesus Christ is a commission of "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations … teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. "
In obedience to this command, the Church has been telling the world what government believes it is right and wrong since Roman times.

With love in Christ.
Several Catholic organizations campaign to ban gay marriage
edit: RANA .. whether "god" thinks that his sin … Christians have no campaign against the equal rights of an entire group of people …. if "god" wants to deal with it, so be it
"JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED "…." do good to those who hate you" … "Love your enemies" - Jesus
I'm pretty sure Catholics believe marriage is a bond that must be shared only between a man and a woman. Catholics as individuals, however, are often very open and "politically correct" on this issue (in my experience, at least).
The Catholic Church recognizes that marriage as God intended can only be between men and women.
It is argued that homosexual activity is a mortal sin that separates man from friendship with God.
Being gay is not a sin, based on it.
The Catholic church has always been against everything and anything that allows free will to triumph over the "will of God" including;
Abortion.
Gay marriage.
Birth control (chemical and prophylactic).
The extension of life measures in hospitals.
And many more …
More important than the Catholic Church is that God is against homosexual sex … is a sin.
If any church "cave" to the pressure of the world and accept sin as normal any … that the church is corrupt and not of God.
It did not really have a "we do not care attitude", which issued a statement shortly after the property 8.
but that was the Catholic Church as the real, I have no idea.
Yes, they are firmly against it. In fact, Cardinal Brady in Ireland, left the other day and said that Ireland's plan for civil unions for same-sex marriage would weaken.
It is a tool.
Yes, the Catholic Church discourages anything that could prevent the birth of children. Do not condemn people for being gay, if not "act" on it. Back huh?
Well, considering the Bible clearly says that homosexuality is a sin, I believe the church is still against gay marriage.
The Catholic church is very much against gay marriage. In fact, the Knights of Columbus (a fraternal organization within the Catholic church), provided a significant share of funding to support prop 8 in CA.
To the extent that Catholics believe the Bible, then I also think that gay marriage is a sin. It is.
More strongly against what the children are disturbed priests are only a minor annoyance and only if caught.
Yes
Prety much every reliegon is against gay marriage
The Catholic church will always be against gay marriage
Seems to be divided, honestly. I can not generalize, so I am going to say some are against, some are not.
If you are still against it!
politically correct in my ass!
gay marriage is WRONG!
I think so, I do not know …. although I am a Catholic
If no change is better than its 2000 year old beliefs and get with the times, huh?
Of course.
Of course.
Yes
Yes
I think so, but could be wrong
