Try to find these prayers with music. The Lord's Prayer should be relatively easy, the Ave Maria can be a bit more difficult. It is easier to learn to sing a song and then recite verses, especially for a period of four years of age. It also helps adults too. I easily learned the books of the Bible and the Divine Mercy Chaplet when I heard the music. On a personal note, I think the great love that your son to teach him how to pray to our Father and our Holy Mother. The Bible says to train a child in the way they should go so when he is not greater than away from it. God bless you and your beautiful family.

Listen to all the people who are sincerely trying to give good advice .... do it by repetition. Just saying a couple of times a day in the car, at bedtime, always, and before you know it will be done pat! My grandchildren have been known more than a dozen of blessings and prayers in Hebrew, as about 2 1 / 2 each! Oh, and for the naysayers, they know what each one means in English. Now they are 3, 5 and 11 - the age of 11 is proficient in Hebrew reading and can really sing and all the blessings. Therefore, just take it and while memorization, can, in simple language, tell what they mean for you. Good luck!

If your child hears you (and your husband when he's not deployed) praying these prayers every day, going to pick them at any time. At this age, they learn very fast! After that take a while, try to say (say), "Our Father, who art in ..." and pause to reflect that the "sky." If you do, then you can say all that just as prayer and to help you learn. The key is to do every day, and more or less the same time, it became something he looked forward to doing with you. Another way is to sit with you while you say a decade of the rosary - you can get a child to hold one for him, too.

I would skip the Hail Mary thing. Teach children about God, not saints. Teach children that God loves no matter what. If they can understand that, then you have done your job.

Why teach a child to memorize a prayer prayer.Tell what is in your heart! God knows your child's heart when he said a prayer for the safety of his father as head in a dangerous place. When your child really wants something, you have to memorize what is going to say that only calls! This is how we must pray to God.

do not listen to those who say their 4 years of age and understand that the abuse often is ... when I was 4 or 5 I knew that prayer is a way of speaking with God (and I knew he was too) and I actually asked my mom to teach me the prayers. She read and write it down for me to pray with her .. I knew how to read at that age, I do not know if that is the case of his son, but to recite the prayer with your child every day and night to help
