Why are there so many churches and belief systems at work among people who claim to follow Christ and the Bible?

Because God said it was not a God of confusion, why so many beliefs among people who call themselves Christians. Eg the Catholics elevate above Christ, Mary, at times, and there are a number of saints in a church that can not be recognized in another. Everyone says to read the Bible, yet we have so many different takes on what the word of God says .. what is going on here people?

The many names should not exist.
Notice what 1 Corinthians 1:10 says: "Now I ask you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there are divisions among you, but you have to be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same sentence. "
Jesus prayed for this unity in John 17:20-21.
Why have so many divisions? Men are not satisfied at all speak the same thing. The men are not satisfied just to teach the word of God. The men are not happy with just about where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible says nothing. Men are not content to do things in the Bible and the Bible Bible forms call things by names from the Bible. Too many want to add their own wishes and teach their own doctrine.
      Notice 2 Timothy 4:2-4.
"Preach the word; is instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and ears that deviate from the truth, and turned to fables. "
We must return to the Bible as sole authority and guide. We should have a "thus saith the Lord" for everything you teach and do as a church.
The Bible teaches that the church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23) and that there is only "one body" (Eph 4:4). When the church began, there were no names.
In Acts 2, we see that around 3000 all heard the same message, everyone who understood the same way that everyone thought the same way and all who obeyed the same way. The result was that they became Christians - nothing more and nothing less, nothing more. At this point, God adds to His church (Acts 2:47).
There is no permission for Christians to "join the church of their choice," but added that the Church of Christ built and purchased! (Matthew 16:18, Acts 20:27)
After they became Christians continued in communion and agreement on the doctrine of the apostles. (Acts 2:42-47) They had the kind of unity of Christians should have.
Today, if we read and understand what it means, they believe what they believed, and only do what they did, without adding any man-made doctrine, which only become what he became - Christians!
This is the reason and purpose of bringing together under the name "Church of Christ today. We just want the church can be read in the Bible.
Christ is the head of the church, therefore we have no "headquarters" on Earth that oversees the local congregation, but each congregation goes directly to the Bible to see what should be taught and practiced.
A label is larger than the local congregation, but smaller than the universal Church. Since the Church of Christ congregations are autonomous, governed only by local congregations, not regional, national or worldwide headquatrers "are not a denomination. No man-made in the organization between the local congregation (which is not a name) and the church as a whole (which is not a title).
We just want to follow the word of God on our behalf (Rom. 16:16), the method of worship, organization, and teaching (doctrine). The word of God is sufficient for teaching, reproof, correction and instruction. Using it this way, we can be fully equipped with everything you need, and there is no need to add any man-made doctrine. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
Those who teach as doctrine the commandments of men have a form of worship is vain. (Matthew 15:9)
I invite you to consider the Church of Christ for a comparison with the Scriptures! If things are taught the Scriptures, which is found in Scripture, and then accept them. If the things taught in contradiction with the Bible and then reject them!
Any church that says the Bible should not continue to oppose such a comparison to the Scriptures. In fact, it should encourage it!

Here is a list. Many people have added to the things that the Bible does not teach, to adapt to their programs. Many people have moved away from the teachings of the Bible, to suit your lifestyle. Many people put more emphasis on one area of education than another, to suit their personality. Some people simply misunderstand the Bible, which are led by a false teaching, or did not understand the culture and context of the verse. Others are wolves in sheep's clothing, and the purpose of distorting the Bible reasons that do not even want to think.
To some extent, a variety of styles of the church is expected and healthy - why? Because God has created all sorts of cultures and personalities. Some people are more animated, some are more solomn. Some people through the best tradition of worship, others through creativity. It does not mean confusion, unless the people who teach only one style of the church of God - which is incorrect. While the Bible and its teachings as fundamental are the complete and only the word of God, I think the variety in the church is an expression of God. Unity, not uniformity.

  3. Heaff says:

As time progressed, people interpret the Scriptures differently than others who like the idea joined them to form a new denomination.
Orthodox and Orthodox Catholics of the division when they refused to be under the Pope, as head of state.
We all use the same Bible, only different religious services.
In any case it is the least orthodox changed. Even still use the old byssentine chanters, and the same service from the same church, the church was first established.

  4. gauke_20 says:

Mainly because each has a specific name or two different interpretations of a topic. Baptists do not believe in infant baptism, so they form their own denomination based on that belief.
Catholics are a complete set. That have damaged many of the doctrines of the gospel. And Paul said that when we find corrupters of the Gospel, we reprimand and / or avoid them.

  5. Jennifer says:

Probably for the same reason that while most Americans believe in the Constitution, they often "have different" in what it actually says and means.
That's why different judges in the Supreme Court give different views on the constitutional issue.
It's because people are people with different mentalities and ways of thinking.

  6. White lighting says:

There was always a "dissident groups" in Christianity. That was one reason that the early Church decided what was to come into the Bible and what was to be excluded. Every so often, another 'lost' Gospel is discovered, and experts considered authentic. So we have the Gnostic gospel. For reflection. And they all vary in their details. Sooo, the early church decided to remove contradictory data (the hallmark of a true case of witnesses) and they fit. The best we could.

  7. Goodfrie says:

Mary is not above Jesus, but as his mother (which we all agree), and having actually held himself in, was the ship on which he was taken, she is very special. Basically, there was a church, the Catholic Church teaches that true Christianity. Many in the church, unfortunately, the abuses that prompted the reformers to break. Now, thousands of churches that we are the escapades of the Reformation churches, and just keep out of the division. I think the Catholic Church has maintained the continuity of doctrine and is historically founded by Jesus Christ.
      God bless

  8. ed f says:

One thing about a lot of different religions is that even though they say they read the Bible, other books they have used before. If you are going to follow the Bible, the verses in the past that suggest you can not add or subtract the same from her.

  9. Edward J says:

God is not the author of confusion. However, they are men. Different perspectives and it is not always problematic. Believers in the Bible is compared to a body to serve different functions.

  10. P'rushim says:

… because "they" have decided to follow the dogma, traditions, rules and regulations, catechisms and spiritual exercise of "man" … Word of God is so easy to understand … God (YHWH) made a "path" to reach it requires no "religion" so-so-ever!
Consider reading the Book of John, not as a "religious" text, but as a text for learning about "who" is and what it has to do with … (absolutely no "religion" is necessary).

  11. kay says:

You know if the whole world watched and read the Bible front to cover, find that everything you learned more about the Seventh Day Adventists? = D That's a real studio, btw.
The pope said Catholic if you want to find any religion in the world that follows the Bible for exactly what it says …. is the Seventh Day Adventists
SDAs are not saying why … but that's the thing. Everyone thinks you're right.
Bad people read the Bible. Do not read, and ask God what it means to read and say, HEY! I know what I mean? And most of the time … is not true. You get all these devisions.

  12. MJean †SFECU† pray4revival says:

The devil, the god of this world is much here in the world and seeks to devour anyone possible. He walks like a roaring lion or a wolf in sheep's clothing, or as an angel of light. We must be wise as serpents and innocent as doves in order to handle this. Most Christians are immature and more easily deceived and we all have some weaknesses in us. If we were perfect the Lord would lead us home.

  13. Mike965 says:

Because people are not perfect and they all believe that their interpretation is correct. I am a Buddhist and there are different factions of the same. It's a human thing not a religious thing, if you get my drift.

  14. Del C says:

The simple answer is that man invented gospels about Jesus rather than trying to understand the Gospel of Jesus. Religion is big business in the world and men are benefiting from people who have not sought the understanding of the Gospel of Jesus from His Fathers Kingdom. He has promised that if we seek him with all our hearts, we will surely find Him and the truth that we are free. This is a very personal promise and search all of us.
