    Here we go again.
NO are prayed to be prayed for and with. In prayer for Catholics to ask their help, as mediators. Suppose you want to meet with the type, you can only go to class, walking to his house, and ask God for what you want! No. Each saint is a pattern of something. as patron of children, lost causes, etc. If all we need is to go directly to God, then what is the need for God to give us many prophets, saints and other support to us! think about that one!
I hope that was helpful. It is not, but through them. OK!

  2. sister steph says:

Do not pray to the Virgin Mary or the saints, we ask them to intercede on our behalf. It's like asking your dad to get mom to agree to extending their curfew. We ask them to help and our prayers to God that are closer to God, then we are.

  3. B says:

ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE THE SAME THING IN 1TIMOTHY 3:15 actually shows that there is no other CONSEQUENTIAL between God and man but Jesus Christ, and Catholics should not confess their sins to a priest Catholics are very misleading and if you really STUDY THAT EVEN IT OUT OF CHANGE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

  4. Medicine Eddie says:

There have been many visions of the Virgin Mary!
As for the prayer to the saints? One man was so bold as to
suggest that this is the doctrine of revelation in Nicolaitanes who hates Jesus!

  5. SaraBMW says:

To pray to saints and Mary to talk to God for them. It's like, you ask God to hear their prayers, and then ask any specific holy is his prayer to talk to God about his sentence.

    very good question!

  8. Moiraes Fate says:

I once said that a Catholic prays to the saints in the hope that Santa is in a good word with God and convince God to help them.
Seems like a copout to me. If a god will not help you because you asked, then get the saints to ask is how to get mom to go to school to stop teasing you of children. It is not going to work and children to boot.

  9. Queen Kira says:

Catholics do err. The Marian cult is derived from the pagan worship of Semiramis, an ancient demigoddess. When early Christianity, under the leadership of Emperor Constantine (the last pagan Roman emperor), invaded other lands, which absorbed the pagan traditions in the version of Christianity. These traditions have no basis in Scripture and therefore should be abandoned. You can not worship Mary, because she is dead in the grave, and awaiting the return of His Son. She can not answer the prayers of anyone. The same applies to the saints of old. The only people who are in heaven, according to the Bible, is God the Father, the Son of God, angels, the 24 elders, Moses and Elijah. (The latter two were resuscitated and were seen in the mountain of the transformation from three of the disciples.) The Bible tells us that only Christ can intercede for us with God, Mary is not human and not saints. Also the priests do not have the authority to forgive sins. Only Christ has that authority.
Some people are too scared of petition to God directly, so they feel better or to ask Maria Santos (who can not hear in any case). But we are confident that in the Gospel of Jesus we can come at any time with our demands and we can ask him in daring to forgive us our sins.

  10. Mechelle B says:

I believe that if Catholics pray to Mary that she turn to intercede for them and pray to the Father.
Personally, I go straight to the source, but that is my belief.
I stand by the bible, Thou shalt have no other God.
But, so many religions interpret the Bible so there is that wrong?
I guess we all find out on the day of the trial.

  11. SANCHA says:

I have spoken to associates of mine Catholics, and seem to think that Mary, (called the Holy Mother) have a special relationship. I explained that this was only one period - about nine months - and then that was it.
Jesus, the son of Mary said: "Nobody comes to the Father except through me." They read the Bible and completely misunderstood the word of God. If Jesus said it, and He is the second part of the Holy Trinity - God only begotten Son, that nobody is more to say otherwise? As a matter of fact, they have added some passages of the Bible for his particular form of worship. It's crazy!
I have said before, if Maria could have helped someone would have helped Jesus when He was being beaten, ripped to shreds, hanging on the cross, so I do not know any mother who stands by and not even throwing herself on his son to him from all harm. It is inherent to the mothers. We're going crazy for our children.

  12. Alma V says:

Because the Virgin Mary and the saints are like our lawyers, and can ask God directly to help us.

  13. Neon Camo says:

Because they believe (and unfortunately they are wrong) that the Old Testament and the law of Moses was done away with. Sweetest Catholicism began lining paganism and idolatry during the fourth century AD and have been doing since then. They believe they have the authority to turn the traditions of men in the traditions of God. Just blame everything on the Roman emperor Constantine.
Also in the sentence (or by) the dead is a sin. No matter how holy they were.

  14. randband says:

I'm not bashing religion, but I have always asked the same question. I always had Catholicism as a religion of convenience. A few hail Mary and all is well. I do not think they even know. It's just what they have been taught. They are encouraged not to read your Bible.
One question I have is prayer for the lost souls. I can not imagine my God, changing his mind about eternity for me because of what you pray for me and after it happens. Sounds like a popularity thing. What happens if I die on the mountain alone and no one prays for me. Does that mean I have no chance of heaven?

  15. suspendo says:

Her definition of prayer is different from yours. For you, prayer is worship. For them, it's just communication. Praying to saints is like me asking you to pray for me. I adore you? Of course not! His prayers are ineffective for me? I hope not! Same for the Saints. Souls do not sleep in the sky. Read Revelation 6:9 if I do not believe.

  16. pkdepp says:

The prayer is offered to a person in two ways: first, as to be completed by the second, as are obtained through it. In the first way of offering prayer to God alone, because all our prayers should be directed to the acquisition of grace and glory, that God alone gives, according to Psalm 83:12, "The Lord will give grace and glory. "But in the second way of praying to saints, angels or men, that God can not hear through them our demands, but our prayers can be effective through their prayers and merits. It is written (Revelation 8:4) that "the smoke of incense," namely, "the prayers of the saints ascended up before God." This is also very clear from the style used by the Church in prayer, from which we beseech the Holy Trinity "to have mercy on us" while we call upon any of the saints "to pray for us."
      The Holy Bible, Douay-Rheims version
      Challoner revisions in 1749-52
1899 Edition of the John Murphy Company
      Imprimatur:
Cardinal James Gibbons, archbishop of Baltimore, on September 1, 1899.
Pope Damasus assembled the first list of books of the Bible in 382 AD The Roman commissioned St. Jerome to translate the original Greek and Hebrew texts into Latin, which became known as the Latin Vulgate Bible and was declared by the Church to be the only authentic version in 1546.
The RD of the New Testament was first published by the English College in Rheims in 1582 AD The DR Old Testament was first published by the English College at Douay in 1609 AD The first King James version was not published until 1611. DRV this line contains all 73 books, including seven deuteric-canonical books (erroneously called Apocrypha by Protestants). These seven books were included in the 1611 KJV, but not later in KJV Bibles.
All the Douay-Rheims Bible was revised and diligently compared with the Latin Vulgate by Bishop Richard Challoner in 1749-1752 AD The notes included in the text were written by Dr. Challoner.
DR Bible photographically reproduced from the 1899 edition of the John Murphy Company, Baltimore, Maryland, in 1971 by Tan Books. Finalmente, esta edición fue escaneado óptico para producir un gran archivo de texto que utiliza este editor para crear este sitio web, con la ayuda de programas de procesamiento de textos.
An important objective of this project is to preserve the original text "as is" without making any changes to the wording, because the original text had the imprimatur of Cardinal James Gibbons, archbishop of Baltimore, dated September 1, 1899.
The text file was quite thoroughly checked by software written by the publisher for punctuation errors and verses out of order. The index was humanely control typos and made corrections to the text. However, some spelling errors may still be present in the text. Many were the order of verses in the original file. These have been corrected.
Every effort was made to ensure that this online version is an exact match with the original print version. Have not been added or omitted words in the text except to correct errors caused by the scanning process. No words were reorganized. Verse numbers were not changed, except in the case of Psalm 9.
Psalm 21 verse 9 originally contained and there were 2 versions of Psalm 10, numbers 1-18 and 1-8. Obviously, this caused a conflict, it was decided to make the first Psalm 10 as the last part of Psalm 9 and renumber the verses 22-39. This keeps the same numbering as the Douay Rheims. Note, in the Protestant Bible to the numbering of the Psalms 10 to 146 is distinguished by a.

    Try this.
You have a friend at a high level. You need a favor. Your friend has better access to the person who can grant this favor. Do you ask, on behalf of friendship, for their help in approaching that person and ask their help to you?
We believe in the Community of Saints. The saints are human beings in the sky. Mary is the Mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and by his will, and our mother (see Paul and the Mystical Body of Christ).
Catholics are taught to respect and love Mary as Mother and the saints as our friends in high places (so to speak).
What more natural for you and your friends the Father joint approach to get the favor of asking?
And this: are not kept in touch with your friends? With your mother? We like to chat with Mary and the saints. Catholics are sociable types. We just recognize and enjoy a little wider circle of friends that most of the people. Not discriminate against people just because they're in heaven. We keep in touch.

  18. imacatho says:

Before Jesus Christ died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven there are no saints in heaven. Therefore, there is no written mention of the Old Testament.
Very few of the new Christians died before most of the New Testament was written. Therefore there is little in the Bible about asking saints to pray for us.
However, the last book of the Bible does not speak of the saints in heaven praying.
Revelation 5:8: Each of the elders held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Revelation 8:3-4: He was given a large quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. The smoke of incense with the prayers of the saints ascended before God from the angel's hand.
The Holy Spirit guided the early Church in many things not explained in the Bible including the manner in which the Body of Christ (believers) on earth are related to the Body of Christ (saints) in the sky. We are still one Body.
We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your friends and family here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
      With love in Christ.

We do not. Perhaps your church leaders are spreading misinformation, for some reason.

  21. The Nag says:

As a Catholic, I can tell you that the Virgin Mary and the saints are close to the ears of God down on earth. We request them to pray to God for us in our name, not to them. What do you think makes the whole world when they die there? Sitting in the clouds Strum and a harp? It is to pray and spend time in communion with God. We ask you to pray for us while they are there, and pray to God too. Sometimes we all need the help we can get.

  22. pieces4u says:

Good question I love God and all the land that has blessed our love for the Catholics and I have several friends and we can not explain that to me

  23. Sunspot Baby says:

    wrong? *

  24. Raynanne says:

The Virgin Mary and other saints are not "of God (s)" for your reference to Exodus 20:2-3 does not apply. Nowhere in the Bible is not to say they are only talking to the Lord. Talking to those who have died is not prohibited by Scripture. I know people who talk to dead relatives. I know that people talk to Jesus and his name aloud, as they believe that Jesus and God are one in the same after the death of Jesus … Why not just say "God"? in your prayers and all the references?

  25. jinengli says:

They are prayed to be prayed through. It is hoped that, by virtue of saints to be able to carry their prayers to God so that they were granted.

  26. sophia's mommy says:

because, unfortunately, very seldom read the Bible, because if you read deutoronomy know that idolatry

  27. Derek B says:

In the Old Testament God is the principal to go to one, and still is, but when he sent his son Jesus to die for us on the cross, Jesus discovered every sin that was never his body while he was dying. When cried out, Father why have you forsaken me tu? God can not look directly at the sin, he or destroyed by sure.He turned their eyes to Jesus, just before he took the sins of the world.
Mary is not a god, or the saints.
The priest speaks in the nearest you can not save you. That little wafer to put in your mouth can not save or cleaning your sins.Jesus which was the sacrifice to end all sacrifice.HE is the only path to kingdom of heaven.
After Jesus sacrificed himself, Christianity was introduced, and all the Jewish sacrifices stopped.Hence, separation of the Jews Christians. If and you will notice, the Torah is the Old Testament, New Testament does not come up only. The about Jesus.

  28. Seeker says:

That's a good question and also determines that Catholics have to go through them again and see what a mistake being made to invent their own rules of religion! I am a Muslim by the wayside.

  29. Freedom says:

Because they believe in their traditions of the Bible.
Mat 15:3 Jesus said, "Why break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?"

  30. travis says:

My grandfather was Catholic and my grandmother told me that what he at the same time, cree. Mary was the mother of God, you are not worthy to pray directly to God (sposa we pray to Mary and she is sposa tell God what you prayed for.)
to pray to the saints becuz believe that each person is considered a saint is "closer to God and to sumwhat a prophet.
oh, and luckily my grandmother was able to convert my grandfather out of the Catholic faith. no offense to Catholics, but I say to the Catholic faith is full of many misinterpretations of the Bible
