The Vatican had no right to forgive John Lennon, when John did nothing wrong and nothing to be forgiven.
Bible Belt is crazy what John said out of context and twisted his words around to mean the things he never said.
John was fashionable to criticize the Beatlemania. Never Beatles, with God or Jesus. The Beatles never liked crazy how so many of his followers were. Clearly, a fact that for many Beatlemaniacs, The Beatles were more important to them that God was.
The Vatican has just embarrassing themselves. Should have been offered a pardon to Beatles fans, not John Lennon.

Lennon does not remain unforgiven by the Vatican for his comment on the story. The mere announcement of a pardon in writing this final chapter. People no longer look back and think Lennon was not forgiven for his words.
What many people do not care, but forgiveness is a part of Christianity and Catholicism, which would leave a mark at the Vatican, if not forgive Lennon, after all these years.

Lennon observation does not need the forgiveness that was taken out of context and not in the way he took the religionist fanatics understand. Its meaning is clear enough to me and was not disparaging religion. The only criticism is that he would do should have known the furor caused by what was misguided to say it.

Millions of Catholics care. And although I am not a Christian and I know that Lennon did not do anything to be forgiven, I think it is good that the Catholic Church made the gesture - if for no other reason that to counteract the melted Kooks who believe that nonsense about someone having a divine revelation by the fact that John is tormented in hell - http://www.hellandjustice.com/john_lenno … -. Not reminded of Lennon unless "we are more popular that Jesus" was really a fair comparison, if not worse. There are countless people who knew Jesus and never heard of the Beatles. I mean, even more have been sold Bibles and stole all the Beatles albums together. If Jesus were on earth still forgives him what was his mission. As he sits in court he will have more pressing with Lennon that a careless remark by a spirit of youth.

I have zero respect for the papacy in general, ditto the Vatican, and this generous gesture on their part, decades after the fact, not only of meaning is a hole, because nobody in their right mind gives a shit what the Vatican Pope thinks or say or do.
For the record, I prefer John Lennon to any pope in history. Jesus Christ is the exception, of course, I always defer to him.

I do not see the need to "forgive" Lennon observing Jesus put it in context, is not even offensive in the first place.
On the other hand, there are something like 1 billion Catholics in the world, which makes them something like 1 / 6 of the world's population. So, like it or not, Catholicism is a major force on this planet and all Church leaders in the news, like the U.S. President is nothing new.
As I said, like it or hate, that's just the way it is.

John Lennon is more popular than Jesus Christ. Thats the way back to the cliché banda The Beatles were the most popular rock at the time. Especially as he arrived in the country. Some countries prohibit indeed coz John Lennon tapes in the stores of that trend. Thats John Lennon crime did to the church, but since The Beatles appeared fade over time, so you forgive the church

It is pure arrogance. Lennon is dead and can not comment on it. I bet you do not feel sorry for what he said. The "forgiveness" of the Vatican implies Lennon said something wrong.
I find it incredible that the Vatican does this.
