The prostitute is that you mention the Bible is never named, and Mary Magdalene is mentioned soon after. Although there is nothing that connects the two characters, the Catholic Church did, and this affected Christianity in the years ahead.

Mary Magdalene and the woman at the well are two different people. The woman at the well was identified twice in the New Testament as a Samaritan. Mary Magdalene was not a Samaritan.

There is no definitive answer, but in my opinion - are the same woman. The church is trying to sell their stories - so you need to reach all kinds of things about Jesus and Judas, etc.

There are six different Marys mentioned in the Bible. Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus. Mary, called Magdalene. Mary, the wife of Cleophas. Mary, the mother of John Mark. Mary of Rome (which is mentioned in Romans chapter 16). The woman is a sinner who knows (probably a prostitute) is unnamed in the Bible.

I think it's the same woman, but the early church that changed everything so that everything seems so holy. as we all know Jesus was a boyfriend of Mary Magdalene, who becomes the same as that prostitute the church decided to change everything, to hide the face of Jesus.
