Catholics and idolatry? I am Catholic and confusing.

I am Catholic and I do, but most of my work in the religious house, the more I think about it I think I am a Protestant and not just aware of it.
I have witnessed in my entire life Catholics worship idols, however, very defensive and say that this is not simply because it is not written in any Catholic docturine to do so.
Please help me in the following
Why is Jesus on the cross in Catholic churches, people bowdown and worship, which is an image, I think you should argue why all the cross, Jesus on a cross, but always made me feel that I was a cult imposed image.
Why Catholics pray and say cult statues of Mary, she is not part of the trinity, which is only the medium of the human child, if there are its large, but it is not God and never say Ave Maria because I think it is blaspheme.
Why do Catholics worship saints. I have heard many Catholics and their priests pray to different saints, for specific reasons,

  1. Pangloss (ancora imparo) says:

It is a pity that the selection of Easter Sunday to bring in another faith.
In fact, it's a shame that you choose to do so on any day.
You can leave the Catholic Church if you feel uncomfortable with their sacraments. It really does not look good in spite of slandering their beliefs.
There is already enough hate and intolerance in the world.
      Peace.

    Idolatry.
The statues are there for the purpose of helping us focus on the person to whom we are praying. They serve the same purpose as a photo of someone you love. Contributing to call to mind his own person, thinking about them. We do not worship the statue. Heck, that even someone who does not worship God. We venerate saints. We honor Mary. We pray asking for the saints pray for us. We do not ask Mary to cure us, for example. ask Mary (or whoever) to ask God to cure us. We ask prayers for the Saints as they are in heaven, their prayers are more powerful. (Some verses speak of the prayers of the saints are more powerful and more holy than in the sky?)
The crucifix is because we recognize the importance of their sacrifice. Many churches seem to ignore (to some extent) the slaughter and try to focus only on the happy moments (resurection, whatever).
There'sa lot more information here. I recommend you do some reading. And not just things that are written by anti-Catholic writers. Read all parties. More information about the faith. Most often, those who speak against the Catholic faith seems to be ignorant of what they really believe. Get a cathecism. It spells out our beliefs.
      Just some thoughts.

I had the same experience. I was educated by Catholic missionaries, but felt the same way as you. I would suggest the investigation of Constantine and the Greek and Roman mythology to understand that many Catholics are derived from the practices.
What really stood out for me was that if Jesus was supposed to be the Messiah of the prophecies to the Jews, then why Christians / Catholics alienating laws were ordered to be done for all eternity. A book that was extremely useful and interesting for me was "Why the Jews Rejected Jesus by David Klinghoffer.

  4. sparki77 says:

When a man kneels before a woman and asks her to marry him, is the cult of woman and believe she's a goddess?
When the British people bow before Queen Elizabeth II, which are of worship?
To kneel in front of the television to insert a DVD or adjust the color or size or something, do you love TV?
To hang a poster of your favorite band in its wall, which means that the cult of the musicians?
Come on, now. You say, because you see someone near a statue or a cross bow, that person is an idol of worship. So if I see you doing all this, you have to say that the worship of idols, right? What is good for the goose is good for the look, right?
Is a person's heart that matters, dude. I kneel in church, but I'm just worshiping Jesus, no one else.
All Catholics know that Mary is not part of the trinity. And did you know the Hail Mary, quoting Scripture?
I would say that his knowledge of Catholicism is almost zero. Obviously, parents do not correctly. You must be an adult about it and get yourself an education on what Catholics really believe.

  5. sundar says:

The patriarch Abraham left his homeland (only because it was a land of idols). Leaving idols is God's call to Abraham.
Thus the descendants of Abraham (Christians thought of Jesus) are very particular in avoiding idols Catholics shouldtake all necessary steps to prevent it. Abraham was the first iconoclast (idol break).
      1. Descendants of Abraham - Jews hate idols.
      2. The children of Abraham to Muslims hate idols.
2 The Bible (Christian Scripture) and hates idols.
No, I do not know then, why do Catholics still prohibited in the church and kneel before him.
      God is Almighty
      The idol is Omni-impotent.
      God is Omni.
It is an idol in a unique place.
      God is omnicient.
      The idols know nothing.
"Then you will defile your idols
      overlaid with silver
      and gold-covered images;
you throw them away as cloth menstrual
And I say, "Away from you!"
      (Bible Isaiah 30:22)
      "They brought the sacred stone
    Outside the Temple of Baal
      and burned.
It demolished the sacred stone of Baal
and demolished the temple of Baal,
and people who have used it for a Laterina today. "
      (Bible: 2 Kings 110:26-27)
"… And do not lift a sacred stone. "
      (Bible: Deuteronomy 16: 22)
"This is what we have to do with them: Break their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire."
      (Bible: Deuteronomy 7:5).
Why keep the idols in the Catholic church? : —
      ————————————– …
Throughout the world, the Catholic Church is a great ministry among the poor and depressed people. Most of the poor are illiterate. The statues in the church remains a very good "Teching aid for the poor and illiterate to understand the Bible with ease.
We must always recognize that an image is ten times more effective than a written explanation. But 3 diamentional statues are even more effective to teach Bible lessons to the poor and uneducated congregation.
There is a St. Mary 's Shrine Velankanni in our place.
As a professor of teacher education institution, I accompanied our students to 5 days a tour.Among students, there was a (girl) who was a very strong Indian student. She would say to me on religion, especially Christianity. However, it is not at all convinved.
When we got to the St. Mary 's (Velankanni) Sanctuary, we can see some (I think 14) statues in a double row, showing the suffering of Jesus suffered when he was the cross toward the statues have been Mt.Calvary.The done in a skillful way that made us all mourn. Especially that only Hindu girl cried to see Jesus "through the statues suffering. The second, the Indian girls could understand the unfathomable love that Jesus bore the cross to redeem us. our sins. He acknowledged that the love of Jesus is the true love. It threw all its signs and religious symbols and accepted Jesus as Savior.
As the statues of teaching really helps stand alone.
Catholic Fathers say that the statues are preserved only as teaching aids. But people who are attracted by Pagon statues Christian wants to be too honest as Pagon ones.Hence who want to bring everyone respct and reverence for the statues (especailly during festival times) and make them all the streets of Palanquins, Chariots and cars.
Christian statues most beautifully decorated in a way unimaginable only a vision and appears to the human eye is largely eyes.Every common temptation to assess and review.
Thus, education became a statue of great reverence, and ultimately.
Major differrences between Christians and other statues: —
      ————————————– …
Almost all Christians seem statues of the holy with the holy people and beautiful faces. But others (most notably the statues of Hindus) look horrible with red eyes and falls over planned languages (if possible with the number of hands holding Variety of weapons and blood-soaked arms.
It will be nice to see. However, some Hindu statues look too soft. In this connection Christian staues are most effective in teaching the Bible Amor, Morales and other soft.
Undoubtedly, Christian statues are very effective in teaching the Bible lessons and make people understand the biblical story.
But in a school, teaching materials are treated only as teaching material. But in the Catholic Church as it is God himself. Utmost reverence given to the statue.
Hindus make crowns and other gold ornaments (cost unimaginable) and decorate statues.Such surplus money can be used for studies and other welfare activities of thousands of poor and needy children.Recently has been a Hindu temple developed using 3 tons of pure gold. Since then, the entire nation (the poor and middle class people) suffers a lot with the cost of care gold.Hindus ever for the welfare of the poor and needy people. But that all the attention to the statues only (how decorate further with other ornament of gold or a diamond crown ..!)
Hindus do not have the love of Christ in them, spend all their money and other wealth to their favorite idols. But Christians are on earth to share the selfless love of Jesus to the suffering humanity.
      Christianity is not focused idol.
Christianity is focused on the poor.
All (8000.000.000) Indians are ready to pour the milk pure (one liters each) on the idols of every morning to show their devotion and reverence for their gods. But Christians have been taught to spend all the money and other property of a purely welfare of the poor and needy ones.We have not been taught to pour the milk to the statues, but to give to others including enemies. No our money should be spent on idol. All money must be spent for the welfare of needy people.
"What you did for one of the least of these my brethren, you did for me."
      (Bible Matthew 25: 40 B) [Please read Chapter 25 31-45]
      Hinduism is idol focused
Christianity is centered on the poor.
We Christians do not behave as irresponsible gentiles.
Not through true worship idolatry.: —
      ————————————– …
Idol worshiper always want to decorate the idol (and more).
Christians always want to improve the lives of the poor and needy.
What one wants to do his Hindu god, just do it in the idol.
But if you have any thing Chriatians God to do for the poor and needy.
The idol of beauty is a joy to Hindu.
However, the happy and joyful faces of the poor which gives pleasure to the Christians.
A Hindu statue decorates only in the most wonderul and is fully satisfied with that.
But a Chritian're happy with your kind words and deeds of their fellow men poor.
Idol worshiper honors the life of the idol more.
But his fellow men, fail to caste discrimination, oppression and repression and so on.
In this resopect lacking in good conscience.
However, Christianity is presented in good conscience of his followers.
In the idol worship, respect for ido = l is the respect for God.
But in respect of Christianity = fellowbeings is to respect God.
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: To look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted world."
      (Bible: James 1:27).
      "So be careful to do what the Lord your God commands you;
are not diverted to the right or left. "
      (Bible: Deuteronomy 5:32).
God is spirit, we should not worship through idols.
      God is omnipresent.
But the man commits the sin in a place where there is no god (idol). This increases Tenedency sin around he world.
In addition, all those who carry out human sacrifices and the sacrifices of children were idol worshipers only.
      God is Spirit.
We should not worship him through idol.
A religion that has idols can never be a perfect religion.

  6. Just Me says:

The Roman Catholic Church (RC) and Protestant churches differ on many issues.
      Referring to Jesus, El Salvador:
RCC teaches that "by his death and resurrection, Christ has" opened "heaven to us" (1026). Each person attains salvation by grace and the Holy Spirit, good works (1477).
      The Bible says:
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of the facts that we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, that no one can boast.
As for our redeemer and advocate:
RCC teaches that Mary is the co-sinless Redeemer. "Not a single sin to stop, she gave herself entirely to the person and work of her son, she did in order to serve the mystery of redemption with him … became obedient to be the cause of salvation for herself and for the whole human race "(494).
The Bible says, 1 Peter 1:17-19
And if the leadership of the Father who judges impartially according to each man working in fear you conduct during their stay on earth, knowing that they were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
RCC teaches that Mary "does not set aside [his] office savings, but by its manifold intercession continues to us the gifts of eternal salvation." She is … … Advocate and Mediatrix "(969).
The Bible teaches 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
      1 John 2:1 My child, I am writing to you these things you can not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

  7. Veritatu says:

The actions of some, even many, do not condemn those who have no part in it.
That said, there are people within the Catholic Church to divert their worship. One thing is to look with reverence the crucifix and a remark about the suffering of our Savior for our cause. It is another kiss and worship a statue of Teresa Liseaux that a person as beautiful as it is not a substitute for the Lord.
The Second Vatican Council condemned such excessive even worship - especially Mary. This does not mean that the whole world stopped doing so. This is something we've seen in several of the U.S., partly because of the immigrant communities who have held more strongly to local traditions.
I never liked the Coronation in May - I have never received the same. I
have not practiced since primary school, and I will not allow my children to take part in it. Mary, surely a woman of grace and mercy, perhaps deserves a holiday to celebrate the way God revealed through His grace, but she is not even remotely close to an equality with the Lord. I think she and all the other saints (the name and title) pray for us and pray with us, but they do not deserve anything more than a thought of appreciation, and any event they should be focused on God and working through them how to imitate Christ in their lives.

  8. imacatho says:

Do you have pictures of their loved ones? Have you ever looked at the picture of someone while talking on the phone with them?
Statues and images of people we love are not idols.
Statues and paintings of Jesus and the saints are like photographs of the people you love and respect.
The King James Version of the Bible, in Exodus 20:4 says: "Do you taxed any image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth, or that is in the water under the earth "
Why the Jews were commanded not to encumber the images? Imposed images were the standard method of pagan worship. Representations were false gods.
This is a very clear command.
But the Jews God in Exodus 25:18 and 1 Chronicles 28:18-19, "And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou will"
And in 1 Kings chapter 7 Solomon made bulls and other images of precious metals.
It seems clear that the Jews do not worship and cherubims Solomon did not worship the bulls he had done. These images did not violate the command of God. Therefore, an image is not acceptable for worship.
In Numbers 21:8-9, "And the LORD said to Moses," Make a saraph and mounted on a stick, and if someone has been bitten in the sights, he will recover. "Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted on a pole and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a serpent looked at the bronze serpent, he recovered."
And in John 3:14-15, Jesus says in the correlation, "And as Moses lifted the [image of a] serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted so that the whole world that cree in it can have eternal life. "
How can a statue of our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross is seen as an idol to a false god? A crucifix is the message of the Gospel without words, remained in sight of all, a visual reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus, not unlike a painting, a play or a movie.
How can a birth created at home to constantly remind and teach their children the love of God for its use idolotry?
Catholics do not worship statues but the almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
      With love in Christ.

  9. Daver says:

<<Catholics and Idolatry? I am Catholic and confusing. I am Catholic and I do, but most of my work in the religious house, the more I think about it I think I am a Protestant and not just aware of it.>>
You are terribly confused about what Catholics really believe and practice. This has caused you to go astray. Let's take this one piece at a time, and hopefully clear some things.
Who knows? Perhaps you are a Protestant. So be it. Nevertheless, you need information on what Catholics really believe and why.
<<I have witnessed in my entire life Catholics worship Idols, but very defensive at this and say they are not simply because it is not written in any Catholic docturine do so.>>
You have not witnessed your life Catholics worship idols, at least not in the way you think they have witnessed. Of course, Catholics get defensive. I mean really, how Catholics are expected to act? Such a claim as this is garden-variety anti-Catholicism. It is a false claim most Catholics are familiar with.
<<Please assist me in what following: ¿Por Jesus on the cross in Catholic churches,>>
First Corinthians, chapter 1, verse 23 (b) - "preach Christ crucified."
      See how easy this is?
<<people bowdown and worship it, which I think is a image, argue why they should cross at any all, But Jesus on a cross always made me feel that I was a worship imposed image.>>
His feelings were unfounded, and here's why:
      Pictures and statues
Deut. 4:15 - from this verse, Protestants say that since he saw "no way" the Lord, do not burden the pictures of him.
Deut. 4:16 - of course, early in the history of Israel is forbidden to make images of God because God is not revealed himself yet visible "in the form of any shape."
Deut. 4:17-19 - Therefore, the Israelites had not yet represented God revealed, that might be tempted to worship him as a beast, bird, reptile or fish, which is a common mistake of the times.
Exodus 3:2-3; Dan 7:9, Matt. 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32, Acts 2:3 - later, however, we see that God revealed Himself in visible form (as a dove, fire, etc.).
Deut. 5:8 - God's commandment "thou shall not encumber an image" is entirely connected to the worship of false gods. God does not prohibit images to be used in worship, but forbids the images to be worshiped.
Exodus 25:18-22, 26:1,31 - for example, God orders the making of the image of the cherubim of gold. This heavenly image, of course, is not adored by the Israelites. However, the picture has their minds and call a supernatural God.
Num 21:8-9 - God also commands the making of the bronze serpent. The image of the bronze serpent is not an idol to be worshiped, but an article that raises the spirit to the supernatural.
I Kings 6:23-36, 7:27-39, 8:6-67 - Solomon's temple contains statues and images of cherubim cherubim, lions and oxen. God does not condemn these images that were used in worship.
2 Kings 18:4 - it was only when people started to worship the statue did incur the wrath of God and the king destroyed it. The command prohibits the use of images to tax applies only to the false worship of those images.
1 Chron. 28:18-19 - David Solomon is the plan for the refining of gold altar with images of cherubim of gold. These images were used in the Jews most solemn place of worship.
2 Chron. 3:7-14 - the house was lined with gold elaborate cherubim carved in wood and coated with gold.
Ezekiel. 41:15 - Ezekiel describes imposed images in the temple has carvings of cherubs appear. These are similar to the images of angels and saints in many Catholic churches.
Col. 1:15 - the only image of God that Catholics worship is Jesus Christ who is the "image" (Greek "Eikon") of the invisible God.
<<Why do Catholics say pray and worship statues of Mary, she is not part of the trinity, which is only the medium of the human child, if there are its large, but it is not God and never say Ave Maria because I believe it is blasphemous.>>
The Hail Mary comes from the Bible, so how can that be blasphemy?
Mary is not only the "carrier" of the unborn Jesus. She is the Immaculate Ark of the New Partnership:
Exodus 25:11-21 - the ark of the Old Covenant was made of pure gold of God's Word. Mary is the Ark of the New Partnership and is the most pure vessel of God's Word made flesh.
2 Sam. 6:7 - the ship is so holy and pure that touched him Uzzah when the Lord killed him. This shows us that the ship is undefiled. Mary, the Ark of the New Covenant is even more immaculate and undefiled, free from original sin from God to enable him to carry His eternal Word in her womb.
1 Chron. 13:9-10 - this is another account Uzzah and the Ark of God to dwell within the ship Mary, Mary had to be conceived without sin. For Protestants to argue otherwise would be to say that God let the finger of Satan touches his Son made flesh. This is incomprehensible.
1 Chron. 15 and 16 - these verses show the great reverence of the Jews had the ship - veneration, costumes, songs, harp, lira, cymbals, trumpets.
Luke 1:39 / 2 Sam. 6:2 - Lucas conspicuous in the comparison between Mary and the Ark of Samuel described highlights the reality of Mary as the immaculate and undefiled Ark of the New Partnership. In these verses, Mary (the Ark) and left / David arose and went to the Ark. There is a clear parallel between the Ark of the Old and the New Ark of the Covenant.
Luke 1:41 / 2 Sam. 6:16 - John the Baptist / King David before jumping for joy Mary / Ark then must jump for joy before Mary, the Immaculate Ark of the Word made flesh.
Luke 1:43 / 2 Sam. 6:9 - How can the mother and the Ark of the Lord come to me? It is a sacred privilege. Our Mother would come to us and leads us to Jesus.
Luke 1:56 / 2 Sam. 6:11 and 1 Chron. 13:14 - Maria / the ship was in the house for about three months.
Rev 11:19 - at this moment in history, the Ark of the Old Covenant was not seen for six centuries (see 2 macc. 2:7), and now is finally seen in heaven. The Jewish people would have been absolutely amazed by this. However, John immediately passes this fact and describes the "woman" clothed with the sun in Rev. 12:1. John is emphasizing that Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant and that, like the old chest, is now worthy of veneration and praise. Also remember that Rev. 11:19 and Rev. 12:1 are tied together, because there is no chapter and verse at the time these texts were written.
Rev 12:1 - the "woman" that John is describing is Mary, the Ark of the New Partnership, with the moon under her feet and her head a crown of twelve stars. Just as the moon reflects light from the sun, so Mary, with the moon under her feet, reflects the glory of the Sun of Justice, Jesus Christ.
Rev. 12:17 - this verse tells us that Mary is the offspring of those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus. This shows, as Catholics have always believed that Mary is the Mother of all Christians.
Rev. 12:2 - Some Protestants argue that because women had pains, was a woman of sin. However, Revelation is apocalyptic literature unique to the 1st century. Symbolism containing varied and multiple meanings of women (Mary, the Church and Israel). Birth pangs describe the birth of Mary and the Church was formed in the offspring of Christ. Mary did not birth pangs in the delivery of his only Son Jesus.
Isaiah 66:7 - for example, see Isaiah prophesies that before she (Mary) was in labor she gave birth before her pain came to her she gave birth to a son (Jesus). This is a prophecy of the virgin birth to Mary of Jesus Christ.
Gal 4:19 - Paul also described their pain as the birth pangs in the formation of the disciples of Christ. Birth pangs describe the formation in Christ.
Rom. 8:22 - well, Paul says the whole creation has been groaning in labor before the coming of Christ. We are all under pain of childbirth because we are reborn in Christ.
Jer. 13:21 - Jeremiah describes the birth pangs of Israel, as a woman at work. Birth pangs are often used metaphorically in Scripture.
Os. 13:12-13 - Ephraim travailing also described as the birth of their sins. Once again, the pains of childbirth are used metaphorically.
Micah 4:9-10 - Micah also describes Jerusalem as seized by the pains of childbirth as a woman at work.
Rev. 12:13-16 - in these verses, we see that even the devil seeks to destroy the woman, even after the Savior has been born. This shows Mary is a danger to the devil, even after the birth of Christ. This is because God has given him the power to intercede for us, and we must rely on your help in our spiritual life.
<<Why do Catholics worship saints. I have heard many Catholics and their priests pray to different saints, for specific reasons,>>
God responds to our wishes and subordinates Mediation / intercessory prayer
1 Tim 2:1-2 - because Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), many Protestants deny the Catholic belief that the saints on earth and in heaven can mediate our name. But before the teaching of Paul about Jesus as a "mediator," Paul urges supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be for everyone. Paul is therefore appealing to the mediation of others, in addition to Christ, the only mediator. Why?
1 Tim 2:3 - because this subordinate mediation is good and acceptable to God our Savior. Because God is our Father and we are His children, God invites us to participate in the role of Christ as mediator.
1 Tim. 2:5 - therefore, if Jesus Christ is the end of

  10. davan_be says:

      and who cares anyway
if you accept the Torah, then what's the problem with the acceptance of their definitions of things?

    Read "The Two Babylons." http://www.biblebelievers.com/babylon/

  12. gertysto says:

Why do you pray to "Mary" when that is not mentioned in the Bible does not say that Jesus, even the so-called "mother"? (He called her "woman"!) Why have "string" when not necessary? Why pray to "saints" when not necessary? (The body of believers are saints!) There is no such thing as "purgatory"! Why "baptize" babies?

  13. Rob - R.I.P. Chelle says:

The veneration of Mary makes total sense to me. Mary is our most powerful intercessor. No wonder his friends and family living to pray for them? How much more powerful, then, is the intercession of the Mother of God himself, the man who loved to perfection during his life on earth, and that He remains obedient in heaven. Jesus does not love his mother? Do not keep His commandments themselves (Honor your father and your mother)? Mary can pray to God more effectively than you or I ever could.
The Holy Rosary is a very powerful prayer when prayed from the heart, at each Hail Mary is prayed with love and simplicity of children. (Many attest to this - St. John Vianney, St. Padre Pio, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, etc.)
If a king invites him to dinner with him, this is a great honor. However, if he calls a meeting of all the kingdom, and proclaims your greatness in front of them so that they may praise and honor that it is also an even greater honor. In the same way, Jesus, our King, wishes to honor his mother, with her beloved and revered by all. Jesus was so grateful to the woman who poured an expensive ointment on his head that he proclaimed "Truly I tell you, wherever in the world this gospel is proclaimed, he has done as said so, in memory of her . "(Matthew 26:13) If this is your gratitude for an act of kindness, imagine then, their gratitude for a lifetime of love (Mary" yes "to God (" Be it done to me according to Thy Word " ;), despite what the cost, her pregnancy at a time when she was not yet married and thus her humiliation before St. Joseph and his acquaintances, her nursing of the Son of God, the way in which welcomed with love and caressed the Divine Child, the clothes she knitted for him, which prepares meals for him, all you had to see her innocent Son so brutally tortured and murdered, etc.)
God is infinitely happy. He does not need the praise, so Mary can be our vessel Devotion.http: / / http://www.medjugorje.org/rosary.htmhttp://www.rosary-center.org/howto.htm
      ————————————– …
The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who pray the rosary:
      1. Which faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal thanks.
      2. I promise my special protection and the greatest thanks to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
      3. The Rosary is a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies.
      4. That will make virtue and good works flourish, but you get to the souls the abundant mercy of God, will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and lift them to the will of eternal things. Ah, to sanctify the souls of here.
      5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, do not perish.
      6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God does not punish his justice, he does not miss an unprovided death, if just to stay on the grace of God and be worthy of eternal life.
      7. Who will have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
      8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and death in the light of God and the fullness of His grace, at the time of death, will participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.
      9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have dedicated themselves to the Rosary.
      10. The faithful children of the Rosary deserve high degree of glory in heaven.
      11. You should get everything they ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
      12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their needs.
      13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the defenders of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.
      14. All those who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
      15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.
Our Lady has 117 titles. She selected this title at Fatima: "I am the Lady of the Rosary."
St. Francis de Sales said the greatest method of praying the prayer IS-Rosario.
St. Thomas Aquinas preached 40 days in Rome, Italy on just the Hail Mary.
St. John Vianney, patron of priests, was seldom seen without a rosary in his hand.
"The rosary is the scourge of the devil" - Pope Adrian VI
"The rosary is a treasure of graces" - Pope Paul V
Padre Pio, the stigmatic priest said: "The Rosary is the weapon"
Pope Leo XIII wrote 9 encyclicals on the rosary.
Pope John XXIII spoke 38 times about Our Lady and the Rosary. He prayed 15 years every day.
Grignion San Luis Maria de Montfort wrote: "The Rosary is the most powerful weapon to touch the Heart of Jesus, our Redeemer, who loves his mother."

    Hi Jack,
I think the above have pretty well covered things.
And I think to see what the problem is - he has been listening to the anti-Catholic propaganda in place of the Church (which is the pillar of truth - 1 Tim 3:15) and have learned a false understanding of what is worship . Many Protestants have a very broad definition of religion and, therefore, falsely accuse Catholics (among others), worship, when they are not. If you bend your knees and worship it, I saw many people worship food aisles of supermarkets - it sounds absurd right? Ditto for the alignment of his knees before the statues of worship.
No Jack, the cult is bow or kneel before the person cree a god. For a Catholic can only occur in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. The other thing is to offer a sacrifice in the Old Testament, sheep, cows, goats. In the New, is the blood of a Melchizedek - bread and wine - Breaking bread as mentioned in Acts - Eucharist. Using a broader definition that makes anything offered to God, worship, is that it extends, so many Protestants studying singing worship - but that is false, then it would be any song of worship, is again the nonsense. Singing is prayer and praise, but not worship. Read the Psalms - that were used in worship, but the Jews did not think that by singing psalms, were cultured.
With that we reach an interesting conclusion. Do Catholics worship, but God alone. While many Protestants who pray and to praise God, in fact, never actually worship (as it does not offer a sacrifice and it is not possible for them before you have to worship God in a way - unlike the Catholics.)

The Catholic Church commits idolatry. They also use paganism that the Vatican has "Christianized."
Catholics have been deceived / betrayed by Rome for centuries.

All religions are man-made, Catholicism has a thing about the Saints (have you seen how many there are?) Why are you Catholic? Raising?

Forget religion Jacky boy, that sounds like a nice guy, if the gods that selfish, arrogant and self just then your best food of the worm. Imagine having to tell everyone how big day for all eternity.

  18. Jonhy says:

Well, I am Catholic and if you disagree or do not understand your religion you can do one of two things:
      1. You can go to classes. We teach about religion (which religion can never be, in this case Catholic). Ypu give a better understanding.
      2. You can change religoins. You said it was a Catholic for 18 years, so I'm guessing that are at leats 18. 18 is for adults. As an adult to decide their religion and even when you are a guy can do any one particular religion. (Except maybe the Hindus, Arabs, and such people.)
Nobody can control their religion. So my advice, and just do what feels right. There is nothing in the Bible that says you can not change religions.
I hope this helps. Good luck with what ever you decide!

Well first if you really wouldnt have been Catholic feelings. Catholics do not worship idols rather than Mary. The Hail Mary is a prayer request like most have ATH Bapists the end of one of the surmons. The cult of the saints … really? Is it because the statues that we have? I made some … their thinking and non-Catholic to be honest if you had questions to see where he is … just ask. You constantly state "I have heard many Catholics … .. Why Catholics "Doesn't it sounds to me as a Catholic. I do not know maybe I'm wrong. Ask your father about it or just go to your pastor. Have a nice day … … Deus Lo Vult

  20. Christia says:

I'm nondenominational, so I really think that God wants everyone to come together and worship and live only for him. There are some things the Catholic Church do not agree with.
      —
      1. Praying to Mary, Mary was a human being, that despite being the mother of Jesus was not El Salvador. We were told that we worship one God! Praying to Mary, praying to God seems false. It seemed as if praying to Mary, you are not having a direct connection with God. I have a direct connection and so do!
2.Saints/Pope- These are man-made! God did not put these in place.
3.Worship in the Bible, which says to jump and shout for joy to God. Catholics do not do that. Tradition in worship, has been done in the way of what the Bible says!
      4. Nuns-God wanted us to be happy and married. Although it sounds like a good thing, it is not a good choice.
      5. Idols-God wants us to worship only him.
      —
Overall, I think Catholics have moved away from what God wants. It has defined a new kind of Christianity that God does not want. Had idols, false beliefs, and ways of thinking wrong. Our world is already in poor condition. If you think you want to become a Protestant, and then ask God what He thinks. He is responsible after all.
I think you should try and nondenominational churches. God wants us to be together. I do not think he wanted to be separated into different groups. If you need anything, please send an email to christiangirl450@yahoo.com! I love to talk with you and help you in your walk with God.

    The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. In fact, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person represented in it." The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not because Worship God alone;
Worship is not directed to images in themselves, considered as mere objects, but under their distinctive aspect of the images that lead us to God incarnate. The movement toward the image does not end with her image, but tends to whose image is.

  22. Danny H C.A.B. says:

    Dear brothers in Christ,
I am a convert to the Catholic Church. I went through RCIA almost 3 years ago (which will be my 3rd Anniversay this Pentacost), and I can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. Changed everything.
I share this because I have seen all the anti-Catholic rhetoric that accuses us of Marion / saint worship, and simply not true. Since my conversion, I have often prayed to Mary - I say the rosary every day - not once, I never loved her. I knelt before the statues of her, my prayers and worship is not only to God.
Is consistently found that prayer or any gesture of respect - reverence, kneeling - is an act of worship, but simply not true.
Think about this: if I say a prayer to God and only God, asking him to bless a loved one and to see others, I love then? Is a prayer, prayer of adoration, or is it simply a call for help?
Here's another example. Say that during my day I spend 30 minutes in prayer to meditate on the Word of God. That is a prayer of adoration, or simply reflect my Lord?
Protestants, like saying that every time that Catholics participate in the prayer to anyone other than God that we adore this person, but it is not true. There are different types of prayer for different needs.
In the case of the statues, the look on his knees, what have I done, is nothing but reverent respect for the life of a person reflects Christ. I assure you that never participated in the knees of worship, nor could it be because it would violate God's command against idolatry. The statue is nothing but a 3D image of the person. If you took the statue and put one painting in his place would be the same thing as a photo in your wallet. Nothing but memories.
The same is true of Jesus on the cross. I adore the shape of plastic hanging from it on a wall, I am worshiping the life of Christ in heaven, in spirit and in truth, using the cross wall as a reminder and visual aids to help my adoration. That's it.
I really hope that my words will help. I hate to leave the faith. As a former Protestant, I can say without doubt that even though they are our brothers in Christ, not his home. They do not have the sacraments, or the fullness of truth that can only be found in the Catholic Church. I mean no offense to them, but I know what I'm talking about. Protestantism is nothing more than huge collection of traditional man-made fractures in the thousands of parts (denominations).
God bless and take care. Write anytime.

  23. heiscomi says:

Although most members of my family are Catholic, that does not remove the fact of belonging to a religion that has many pagan practices that God hates. My aunt and uncle, could be seen as some of the most wonderful life they live. Not save them.
If they have not been born again, when they suffer physical death, their souls are still in tresspasses dead will be cast into hell.
A man must be alive in spirit at the time of physical death. Another thing that is dead his spirit will be taken to the place where the dead are reserved until the trial.
Therefore, you must be a man alive in his mind at the time of physical death. This only comes through salvation, despite being born again the blood of Christ. Romans 6
Therefore, if your spirit is the spirit of accelerating the life of Jesus Christ, if man is baptized into Christ through his blood before he suffered physical death, his spirit will be alive with life in Christ.

  25. livingth says:

In Ireland there is an empowered state religion.
As such there are a lot of things that were thought to be contary in Ireland for Catholic Education.
That was not from the Church, but many people simply creates ideas that are not thought at all.
I know one person said his father, "a Catholic" called the Bible a book of black. However, the Bible is read in the Catholic church more than any other group on earth.
I even heard someone say that if the Eucharist that bite / can bleed. This is just a silly old wives.
The concept of the Bible alone Didn't exist until 1700.
The "born again" speech recently, raising your hand would have been heresy (and still is) in the early church and didn't exist until 1900.
Protestants have a relationship with Christ, I guess that God loves them and sincerity. They can also be saved, but not through their 30 seconds of prayer.
Will be through the Catholic Church.
