Catholics: Is it true that Mary was initiated by pagan Romans?
I'm scared: (
Do not assume that other than pray to God
Virgin Mary with a moon in her paintings
Why are there so many statues in the churches?
Why are so full of gold and silver and when the value of extreme
Jesus was a carpenter?

First, not the Virgin Mary was not "initiated" by the pagan Romans, she is the Mother of Jesus Christ. Do not pray to God, praying the Hail Mary for you, is simple and, of course, ask your pray for us. I do not see the moon, I have not seen any pictures like that. Statues, paintings, stained glass serves as a reminder of all that is not worshiped. Jesus was a carpenter, gold and silver are not all of the place, at least in my parish. If you want to make is entirely up to you, but I sincerely believe that they must understand the questions sent to him, because the interpretation is wrong.
Well, at least, they have observed and discovered the difference. God had opened his eyes to see the truth. It's a good decision to go to a church that does not worship idols. It is best if you go to a church that does not worship idols and the worship of the seven days and not on Sunday. Have discovered that the first commandment and the seventh day of worship is the fourth commandment. Dios te bendiga!
The obsession with the Virgin Mary is a Protestant thing to be adored. If you want to know what the Church teaches us to go to the Catholic Church and the Catechism.
Already a Christian. Catholics were the first Christians. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ. Apparently not paying attention in catechism class.
First, do not pray to saints, but through them. Catholics can and do pray directly to God, the prayers of the Mass are directed to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Prayer to God is the most important thing we can do, but there is nothing wrong with asking the angels and saints to intercede with God on our behalf. After all, the angels witnessed the fall of one of his (Satan), while still being obedient to God and the Saints face the same problems and temptations that we face and overcome life of holiness. No doubt Christians to ask their friends and neighbors to pray for their intentions and needs. The greatest friends we are in heaven cheering us on as we struggle to overcome our sinful nature and live the Christian life.
Throughout the Old Testament examples of people (Abraham, Moses, the prophets), prayer for the benefit of others, and honor the angels (Joshua 5:14, Daniel 8:17). In the New Testament we read "The prayer of a just man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16, NVI). Who is right that it has achieved a place in heaven? Just because someone has left his earthly life does not mean they are out of our reach, or who no longer care for us. The saints are alive in heaven as 1 Corinthians 15:22 Revelation 5:8 tells us and tells us that the prayers of the saints are offered to God. The saints are the masterpieces of God and what artist would say "Do not look at my work, paying attention only to me?" We honor praise God for their accomplishments.
All of the same at the end ….. carpenter? … I know that Jesus didn't do an honest days work every time ….. God and silver? Why not ?…… …. Become a (born again Christian) no problemo …… Convert? contact with newborn church.
Read the Fathers of the Church … Technically they are not Protestant Christians. Christians are evil.
The Virgin Mary is the Mother of God, and therefore is 100% Christian.
"We are not suppose to pray to God."
It is not supposed to worship anyone but God. Prayers to saints are really God through the Holy particular.
"Virgin Mary with a moon in his paintings."
Read Rev. 12, verse 1, and you'll know why.
"Wh are there so many statues in the churches?"
Do not have pictures of their loved ones?
"Why are so full of gold and silver of great value, and when Jesus was a carpenter?"
Jesus did not complain about the existence of gems in the temple (his father)?
"I think it will become a Christian."
If you are Catholic, and who are Christians.
"I've been watching Protestant / newborn Christians, but I want to convert, how can I do that?"
If you have been baptized in the name of the Father and the Son, and Holy Spirit, then you are born again.
Edit: At the time that God said not to make images, people thought that it was possible to simply create a god, "and the statues literally adored as such. The statues of saints in the churches are just their images, both in the same way an image is just an image. We know that gods are not real.
The only thing who is really the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, because we know that Christ is literally present it.
Today, the Church teaches that the Blessed Mother of Jesus was a virgin before, during and after the conception and birth of her divine son. "
The dogma of the Roman Catholic Church also includes the perpetual virginity of Mary and of Mary Immaculate Conception. It shows that:
Mary's hymen was preserved intact during the delivery of Jesus. Although there is no mention of this in the Bible, this belief was accepted by the Council of Chalcedon in 451 CE.
Mary remained a virgin for the rest of his life. Her marriage to Joseph was never consummated, and, therefore, the couple has never had more children.
The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone but God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers in heaven asking people for their prayers. Why, then, that many Catholics pray to Mary and / or the saints, or request their prayers? Catholics view Mary and saints as "intercessors" before God. They believe that a saint, who is glorified in heaven, has more "direct access" to God than us. Therefore, if a saint offers a prayer to God, is more effective than us praying to God directly. This concept is clearly unbiblical. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we, the believers here on earth, can "… approach the throne of grace with confidence … "
1 Timothy 2:5 declares, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." There is one thing that can mediate with God for us. If Jesus is the only mediator, that indicates Mary and saints can not be mediators. They can not mediate our prayer requests to God. Furthermore, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ himself is interceding for us before the Father, "therefore, is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them" (Hebrews 7:25). With the same Jesus interceding for us, why we need Mary or the saints to intercede for us? Who listens to God rather than His Son? Romans 8:26-27 describes the Holy Spirit interceding for us. With 2 and 3 of the members of the Trinity already interceding for us before the Father in heaven, what need can there be for that Mary or the saints interceding for us?
The Bible mentions anyone anywhere to ask someone in heaven to pray for them. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in Heaven praying for anyone on earth. (2) The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in heaven, remain finite beings with limitations. How could hear the prayers of millions? Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead is in the context of sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination - activities the Bible condemns (Leviticus 20:27, Deuteronomy 18:10-13). The only instance when a "saint" was speaking to Samuel in 1 Samuel 28:7-19, Samuel was not exactly happy to be. It is clearly evident that the prayer to Mary or the saints is quite different from asking someone here on earth to pray for you. One has a strong Biblical basis, the other has no biblical basis.
Hi,
1) No, the only goddess with some slight similarities was the Egyptian goddess Isis.
2) The statues and images were initially put in the churches because the vast majority of the population was illiterate and, as they say, a picture is worth 1000 words.
3) Well Go0d does not complain, right? The Arc of the Covenant, built at God's instructions was covered in gold.
4) were born Protestants against a false belief that they have been saved and always saved even if they sleep with children, become contract narco traffickers and murderers. This contradicts the teachings of Jesus
5) Some Roman Catholics who come to my country, Canada to become born-again Christians, not because they are good or theology are educated about the history of the Church. Pentecostal churches is because they give free legal aid, food, shelter and work while they are asking for the application or to obtain residency here. Nothing like a carrot, I guess!
Cheers,
Michael Kelly
EDIT - LOL, prejudices? I am telling the truth and as I said, housing and legal assistance (lawyers and paid for).
Its emotional appeal of the ad hominem fallacy and does not work … I speak Spanish and my wife is also Mexican. As I said, I am much trabjando with Latinos, and I can understand your situation here. He studied the history of Mexico and South America.
Hotep,
The Virgin Mary is a Roman copy of Mother and Child in Egypt, and Isis and Horus. The story of Isis and Horus was the birth of the Christian myth. For the year 1000 before Christ was even thinking, the Egyptians had a virgin giving birth to a god-man child.
On conversion, I wish you every success with it. Choosing a religion that illuminates and liberates you.
Salam, shalom, peace
