Do you believe in the cult of Mary and the saints?
Now, I had a question a while ago and had a couple of people I as Lutheran.O_O Well, I'm not. I do not believe in a kind of worship, there was only a matter of frustration for the Church. Now, Jesus made things easier for us by dying on the cross. He said that to God we get to it. Simple. However, there many Catholics worship Mary and the saints. They were human. I respect, but they do not believe in religion. I think it is a role model. No other god.
- Why do you think of the Catholic cult of Mary?
- Culto do Catholics pray to Mary and the Saints?
- I've seen a lot of Catholics Woshipping Virgin Mary, saints, why they are afraid to admit it, what's the problem?
- Catholics, why pray for Mothermary and other saints?
- Why do Catholics Worship Pope, Mary and the saints?

NO Catholics worship Mary and the saints, nor have they ever. Where on earth does this idea?
We honor Mary (hyperdulia "- great honor) and saints (" Dulia "- the honor), and leading holy lives and are now members of the Communion of Saints - that is, the Body of Christ in the heaven and earth. They can pray for us as any other believer can.
Worship ( "Latvia" - worship) is reserved for God and God alone. No human being is worthy of worship, and the Catholic Church has never taught otherwise.
Next time before you state things like 'facts' on how to consult with those of us who are Catholic and have studied our faith. We will gladly explain what we believe and why we believe it is.
no
NICE I think you should just respect the religion, but it only ois in one god and the ten comandments that says you shall have no other god but me
who!
Mary worship is based on the Roman (Saturnalia or) worship of the god Osiris, the mother of creation. Was approved at the Church of Rome in the third century and remains there to this day. althoguh found prominience around 40. A.D more or less.
We should worship anyone but God. and Jesus is not God, he is the Son of God. worship of Mary as mother of Jesus (hence his mother of god) is a pile of garbage that has its roots in the worship of Osiris, who was the mother of creation, the mother of the universe.
The saints are not to be worshiped. Saints worship God alone as well. Jesus worships God. and it is God who is their firstborn creation. All other creation was born in sight of and with the assistance of Jesus
No, 'fraid not.
Catholics DO NOT WORSHIP MARY OR THE SAINTS! Catholics pray to Mary and saints. Prayer is talking. We talked to Mary and the saints and ask for help or tell you admire what they did to become such a saint. They are our models, our hero.
We also pray to my deceased parents and family members. I ask you to pray for me. Thank you for the years that I knew of them and the life they lived.
As Catholics we believe that people in heaven are called Saints are very much alive and with God. We keep alive in our memories and hearts when we think about them or pray with them. Do not worship them.
Agree. I do not believe in the cult of Mary and the saints. Unfortunately, Mary is spoon fed to believe wholeheartedly Catholics is not the Mary of the Bible.
The Mary of the Bible says in a sad state, doing the will of Jesus, and she was in dire need of a Savior.
The Mary of the Catholic faith is a source of holiness, an intercessor, reigns over all things and the recipient of the prayer. Now, say that Catholics do not pray to Mary, but worship in a system that teaches:
"By asking Mary to pray for us, we acknowledge ourselves to be poor sinners and we address ourselves to the" Mother of Mercy ", the Holy … All who welcome us as our mother at the hour of our passing .. … "pg644 # 2677 (Catholic doctrine).
I would urge all Catholics who say they do not pray to Mary, how they feel about the doctrine. I would also ask them if they are familiar with the children of Israel who made cakes and a sought after "Queen of Heaven" - and how God dealt with them.
I am a devout Catholic - We do not worship Mary or the saints!
Some have made over the centuries gone overboard in their devotion to it? - Of course! Not many foundries go overboard with some of its preachers - "I'm Joel Osteen!" I Oral Roberts! "" I Benny Hinn! "Some of these simple people have been next to superstar - but the cast never seem to realize that! Oh, no!
God is God of the living, not the dead "(Mt 22:32) - huh? We Catholics believe that Mary and the saints and other faithful departed are alive and are able to join us in prayer.
1I And St. Paul calls it, first, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all (1 Tim 2:1 )…. So what is wrong with asking someone who is living in heaven to join with me in prayer? Do not pray to Mary …. I ask her intercession. Why? Paul says his well …. in fact, that "urges" that …..
Read the book of Revelation - 3 times the writer mentions that the "prayers of the saints" before the throne of God: 5:8, 8:3, 8:4.
If a younger brother who was suffering from leukemia and other diseases, you really assume that burden alone - or ask family, friends, fellow church members to join in prayer for him too? If Mary were sitting next to you in the Church - the Mother of the Redeemer (without which we would have no redeeming) - it did not appeal to her and ask for prayer? Why not ask that now reigns in heaven with him?
Hold on! You mean that reigns in heaven with him ???!!! It is not that blasphemy? No …. Christ in his fate: "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him (2 Tim 2:12).
Even when he was on earth, live only in service to his son. In the wedding at Cana (John 2), which simply made an observation and the need was presented, on behalf of the bride and groom to his son: "They have no more wine" (Jn 2:3).
Even when Jesus appeared to her to punish him and do that "My time has not yet come" (Jn 2:4) - that revolves around and is - after she makes you brave "the proclamation of faith - "Do whatever he tells you" (Jn 2:5). She knew what that was all! Responds to your request! Apparently did not realize that the couple had run out of wine and shy (weddings in those days lasted a week). Made the observation, made the request - and said that none of the credit - but to the participants for their son - "Do whatever he tells you."
Throughout ancient history, the kings of Judah in line FOREVER to honor her mother (EX 20:10) for special recognition. In fact, read how King Solomon received his mother in his throne room - which fell from his throne, his greeting and bowed to her DOWN! He also said that "no reject" your request - see 1 Kings 2:19-20. And that suggest that just sat on the right hand of the king - in another throne? Not any of Solomon's 400 wives and 300 concubines - but his own mother, Bathsheba. Jesus was very familiar with this great tradition.
And so, when Mary and asking Catholics to saints to join us in prayer - they do that God may be glorified in and through His Son, Jesus. In His righteousness, not seeking their own glory - but the glory of Him who called himself.

Not believe that "worship" Mary or the saints, pray to them as intercessors.
Worship God period!
>>> However, there many Catholics worship Mary and the saints. >>>
No, no. There is nothing about Catholic worship Mary or the saints. We only worship God.
Anyone who worships Mary or the saints is not acting in line with Catholic teaching. They are, as they say, on your own, if that is what they want done.
We Catholics hold Mary and the saints in very high esteem. But not absolutely worship them. Holding someone in high esteem is not the same as worship. Again, only the worship of God.
Attending a Catholic mass at some point. You will find that Mary and the saints are barely mentioned at all - and not in a way that can reasonably be interpreted as worship.
And the Mass is the high point of Catholic worship. So, no doubt, if indeed venerated Mary or the saints, which is mentioned repeatedly throughout the Mass - but they are not, because they did not worship.
.
So Nesho-Tea, I agree.
Let's respect, but not to them as gods.
A gateway to God is enough.
How sad how ignorant ……………. ……… ……….. illiterate and how many times have you been asked this ??????????????
The Church's teaching on the invocation of saints is thus defined by the Council of Trent. "The saints, who reign together with Christ, offer their own prayers to God for men. It is good and useful to invoke suppliantly them, and rely on their prayers, help and assistance in obtaining benefits from God through His Son Jesus Christ, who alone is our Redeemer and Savior. impiously People think they deny that the saints who enjoy eternal happiness in heaven, invoking, claiming that not pray for the men, who declare that the call to pray for each of us, especially is idolatry, is repugnant to the word of God, and is opposed to the honor of the One Mediator of God and man, Christ Jesus''(Sess. xxv.).
The Old and New Testaments clearly teach the principle and practice of asking the prayers of our brothers, especially the righteous (James v. 16-18). God ordered Abraham to Abimelech prayers ask: "He will pray for you and you shall live" (Gen. xx. 7, 17). God had mercy on the guilty children of Israel in the wilderness because Moses interceded for them (Ps. xv. 23). God told Job's friends: "My server Employment pray for you, your face I will accept" (Job xliii. 8). St. Paul in his letters continually asked the brothers to pray for him (Rom. xv. 30, Eph. Vi. 18, 19, 1 Thess. 25 C.).
Is it reasonable to assume that the Christian, who prayed for their brothers, while on earth, you lose all interest in them once they reached the kingdom of heaven? The Christian tradition from the beginning that states the interest of the saints in heaven will be increased a hundredfold, because then they will realize more fully our needs and our needs, and God is willing to listen to her intercession. St. Jerome (340-420) is a good testimony to this fact. He writes: "If the apostles and martyrs while still in the flesh and still take care of themselves, can pray for others, how much more are going to pray for others after they have won their crowns, their victories, their triumphs. Moses, a man obtains forgiveness from God for six hundred thousand armed men, Stephen and pray for their persecutors. When they are with Christ will be less powerful? St. Paul said that two hundred and seventy-six souls have been given to their prayers, while they were on the boat with him. you can close the mouth after death, and not mutter a syllable for those around the world have believed in his Gospel? (Adv. Vigil)
That the angels pray for men to learn from the vision of Zechariah (i. 12, 13), and one of the words of the angel Raphael Tobías tc: "When you have to pray with tears … I offered your prayer to the Lord "(xii Tob .. 12). Christ himself tells us to have an interest in us, He says: "There will be joy before the angels of God to a sinner doing penance" (Luke xv. 10). In another place that man has not discovered scandalise young children, because they are angels to intercede for them in heaven (Matthew XVIII. 10). If the angels intercede for us, no doubt the Saints, who are united to us by the ties of a common human nature and the supernatural bond of the Communion of Saints, has the same power and the same privilege.
The early Fathers unanimously teach the doctrine of the intercession of the saints.
San Hilario (366) writes: "To those who are Fain, neither the guardianship of saints nor the protection of the angels is wanting" (In Ps., CXXIV.).
St. Cyril of Jerusalem (315-386) writes: "Then, to commemorate those who have fallen asleep before us, patriarchs, prophets, apostles and martyrs, so that God, by their prayers and intercessions, may receive our demands "(Myst., v., 9).
St. John Chrysostom (344-407) writes: "When you ceivest punishment by God is with you, do not blow your enemies … But to his friends, the martyrs, saints, and those friendly to him, and have great power "(Orat., viii., Adv. Jus., 6).
Catholics firmly believe in the only mediatorship Jesus (1 Tim. Ii. 5), and the Council of Trent insists on this doctrine by declaring his teaching on the invocation of saints. Catholics believe that Jesus Christ alone redeemed us by His death on the Cross, therefore, to reconcile us to God, and makes us partakers of His grace and glory hereafter. Divine gift can not reach us, except through the merits of Christ and his Holy Passion. Therefore, we pray every prayer and every prayer in heaven of the Virgin, the angels and saints, are effective only through Jesus Christ our Lord. The Saints only have to add their prayers to ours, and especially pleasing to God but because of their greater holiness, helping us through the only merits a mediator.
Nesho Tea appears that you have your answer. I also thought that Catholics worship the Virgin Mary and the saints. Now we know. I'm glad to hear it.
Catholics do not worship the Virgin Mary or other saints.
We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
With love in Christ.
I'm Catholic, not the worship of Mary, his love and respect as Jesus did, after all, we hope that their example. Who told you that their religion has deceived you, and I was hated before he / she met me.
NO! … Santos is a label of the Catholic church began many years. does.
We call the anointed heavenly ones. When you are resurrected, the sky which is raised to a higher degree of angles. If we are talking about Mary, the mother of Jesus, who is one of the Messiah there. we went right through Jesus to reach God, you taught us.
Peace ……
It's the age old tradition of almost 2 thousand years.
Get over it. The Catholic Church is about 1800 years ……
No, your worship, and reverence paid to watch the saints as spiritual guides.
That's it.
All characters in Christianity - including Jesus, Mary and the saints of old - were taken from pagan religions anyway. Used to be considered gods - and many still think that way. Non-Catholics, however.
Exodus 20:3-4 You shall have no other gods before me.
Duet 18:11 sheds or spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consult the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.
The Lord does not want to pray for the dead or bow to anyone but him.
Do not worship Mary or the saints. They are venerated. Remember when the angel to Mary was called blessed among all women. She was in a sense, the first Christian.
Not being a Catholic could be wrong about this but I think they really do not worship Mary or the saints, but the honor and seek their intervention and assistance. A Catholic can explain this better, I know.
Worship Christ directly. We do not need anyone or anything to help us except the Bible and the Holy Spirit.
