For those who oppose us Catholics call priests Father, how is your dad?
Paul called himself the same to his father, and also what do you think is the Pope? Like Father, father, father, and many different names for the same thing.
- Why do Catholics call priests "father" and asking Forgivness?
- Why San Pablo Call your audience, "children," Why Does it refer to himself as his Father? Who begat these?
- The Bible says Father Call No One (religiously speaking) But God. So how do I address a Catholic priest?
- Why call themselves Catholic priests Father Matt23 9 when he says no?
- Catholic priest to get offended because wont call Father?

Are we there yet-Here are the lyrics for you.
1 Corinthians 4:14-17
14i not write these things to shame, but to warn that children as my beloved.
15For if you have countless tutors in Christ, but not many fathers in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
16Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me.
17For this reason I sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, and He will remind you that my way of being in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.
I have two friends who are Catholic priests, and both the address as Father.
Edit —
And people who think the Bible is known as no man father must have missed that little commandment to honor thy mother and father. We also love the verse that actually says, quote
"But you do not have the name of a rabbi, to be a teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no one your father on earth, so that there is one Father, who is in heaven. Neither is called "masters," to be a teacher, the Christ "(Matthew 23:8-10).
Which means you should be outraged over the use of the word rabbi, the teacher (or variations such as Mr. and Mrs.), teacher (and the doctor-who is professor of Latin).
There is only one Heavenly Father we know as God.
There is only one earthly father who is also our father.
As for the Pope and priests called "Father" is as if they put us in line with where God is blasphemy.
Priests, popes, etc are "ministers "….. who are responsible for the people …. spiritual well-being and ministers must be humble and not "Mr" throughout the people.
Well, a father is a man older than you raise, whether biological or not. And "Father" is the correct term for the Pope, which translates into about the bridge or connection, no father. And call a priest "father", if an increase in the "spiritual" teachings, which I do not see a real problem with it. What verse did Paul call himself "Our Father"?
It is a classic case of Protestant fundamentalist cherry pick in an effort to discredit our Catholic faith. Catch a verse in which you want to use as a club and ignore all references to St. Paul and St. John the spiritual paternity.
And BTW, here is the reference to Paul calls himself the spiritual father of the Corinthians:
1Corinthians 4:14-15 not write these things to shame, but as my beloved sons I warn you. While you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, but have ye not many fathers in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
Oh, and I call my father "Dad."
When did Paul call himself "father"? Please cite the verse.
I ask God "Father", as in the quotation from Jesus who said to read: "Our Father which art in heaven …".
But I would never call Paul father, nor will I call a priest father. I have an earthly father, my father, and a Heavenly Father, God.
Well, you see, a "father" in my dictionary means "a father".
Also, ask my dad for his name: "Nate."
BTW, the Pope may have meant "father" way back when Latin was spoken, but now just means "figurehead of the Catholic Church."
The application of "father" to the men as a formalist or religious title was prohibited by Jesus.
Matthew 23:9 also did not call anyone your father on earth, one is your Father, the Heavenly One
the correct name of the pope is the pope. Comes from the word which means pont bridge. Figured that is the bridge between the spiritual and the earthly.
I call my dad douchebag.
Or when I feel particularly mean bastard … has a personal meaning for him.
Oh, he deserves it. Really.
I ask my father "Dad."
I would describe as my father. Because he is.
A priest is not.
An earthly father
A Heavenly Father
preists are neither
I call my earthly father, father. My dad called me Heavenly Father.
My dad not wearing a funny hat or touch children.
I do not know my father, but I have heard his name was Doug.
Who's your daddy
I call my dad "Male half of the equation"
I say "hey you, the man who caused my birth."
Devil you call your father? I mean, technically, if not for Satan to ever exist. You should really think about what is right and wrong and what that means for us. Give it some deep thought, and then ask that question again. Besides, do not worry about what the world thinks of you. Its judgments are often wrong and misplaced.
