I am neither Catholic nor Protestant .. But I have a curiosity ..?
I am very interested in Christianity .. I believe in God. However, I am yet to become one. [In progress].
I am here to share my experiences and I have got to be honest with myself and all of you that I have found that while Protestants and Catholics are Christians but there are conflicts between them. not assume that they do not?
Frankly speaking, I have a bunch of friends are Christians and Catholics / Protestants. They all believe in Jesus Christ. There is something about me that Catholics seem more "give" in the sense that indeed the salvation of Jesus. all are loving, helpful and are more traditional. However, the Protestants are the people with safe and strong to believe whatever they do, Jesus loves no matter what. said on this matter, I know that some things are done blindly and if they realized that it is selfish / cruel .. that whatever happens, they are the sons of God and believe that wisdom is given.
I wondered if my apogize has offended anyone, but I'm curious that a Christian will soon …:)

Right-o … when the Spirit leads him then.
Good luck with that.
Have you investigated the Orthodox? Church has a beautiful culture and tradition (the Catholic), but also emphasizes scripture and communion with God, as Protestantism. It is also good because they are outside the Protestant and Catholic mourning which for five centuries.
One thing I like about Orthodox Christianity is his humble attitude towards theology. Western Christianity has much to do with defining everything (systematic theology). Orthodox Christians refer to things like the Trinity as "divine mysteries," and while participating in discussions about them, do not presume to have all the answers.
Orthodox Christianity is based on three pillars: the humility, love and prayer.
Catholics believe in being made of the word and not hearers only. As a result, they tend to actively participate in worthy causes.
There are other branches of Christianity with great humanitarian efforts, similar to those of Catholicism. Some churches are based on the idea of service (The Salvation Army, for example).
I'm not sure what was your question, but I hope my thoughts have helped.
The criterion of what we believe and, hence, religious order that is, without doubt you subscribe to a topic that no one can or should advise you. However this issue is obviously going to be one in which the various orders to compete for its appearance and therefore can be misleading.
Protestans and Catholics believe in Jesus for salvation. Catholics also believe in purgatory. The reason that some Christians broke outside the Catholic Church is that a Christian (I forgot his name. Something like martin …. I think) saw that it was bad for the priest to receive money to pardon a person guilty . Also, Protestants read the Bible all you want while on the other hand, Catholics feel betrayed that the church if you read the Bible, because only the priest may read. But now that the Catholic people have the Bible.
There are many things involved in Catholicism as the rest of Christianity does not have a. For example, the level of importance of the saints and Mary, the need to confess to a priest, the need to do penance for an acquittal, the need for icons and crucifixes.
You do not have to choose between Catholicism and Protestantism? That is great that you want to become a Christian. You do not have to do anything but pray and believe that Jesus has taken away all their sins. Catholics and Protestants should not conflict with each other. Should be good. The main importance is Jesus. Next in everything they do and see his love and truth. If you have questions about Christianity, do not hesitate to message me. Congratulations on your account for the conversion.
Its only God who knows His true worshipers.
Meanwhile,
his decision will depend solely on its understanding of who God is and the type of lifestyle they live, their culture and race
Can I know its origin?
that not all Christians are Catholics are Protestant (protest-ants)
Catholics are a direct line of jesus
then some of them protested and made their own religions such as Baptist, and all other Christian religions
Curiosity is not the best kind of religion?
Edit: Eh, blah. Good luck.
Since there are about 37,000 denominations of Christianity, it can be very confusing. But you can find answers using the Bible as your guide.
Being a Christian means literally to be "a step follower of Christ" imitating his life and teachings in our lives as closely as possible.
Jesus gave some very simple but important criteria for his followers to be able to know who is a "true Christian" and that it was a phoney. These articles are a good place to start …

I like to think that in the end, the differences between Protestant and Catholic churches are so small that God does not care. I mean, it really does not matter if you go to confession with a priest or not? God does not forgive all our sins when our heart desires? What does it matter if a priest or not?
"Catholic" means "universal." I wish we Christians could all get our acts together and stop bickering with interfaith. It's just another thing atheists we can chew.
Rev. 7:9 - the celestial kingdom is filled with every nation and all tribes, peoples and languages. This is "catholic" means universal.
1 Peter 3:8 - Peter charges us to have unity of spirit. This is impossible unless there is a central teaching authority given to us by God.
Gen. 12:2-3 - God told Abraham and all peoples on earth will be blessed. The family unit is met only in the Catholic Church.
Dan. 7:14 - Daniel prophesies that all peoples, nations and languages shall serve His kingdom. Again, this is only the catholicity of the Catholic Church.
1 Cor. 14:33 - God can not be the author of confusion Protestant. Only the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church claims and proves to be the Church of Christ.
I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will try to answer your question anyway. The problem with the Catholic faith is that some of its practices in contradiction with the Bible. For example, the Bible, which is God's Holy Word, tells us that we are not to worship any god (or persons) in front of him. However, when Catholics pray the Rosary are ten times more prayers go out to Maria (Hail Mary), then God (Our Father). What does that do? Secondly, we believe that Catholics must confess their sins to a priest, so that his forgiveness of sins. A priest does not have any power to forgive sins anyones. If a person wants their forgiveness of sins they have to pray to God for themselves. Thirdly, the Catholic faith does not encourage people to read and study the Bible for themselves. If a person can not read or study the Bible for themselves how they will ever experience any kind of spiritual growth? Another thing wrong with the Catholic faith is that it is the only religion that does not allow ministers (priests) to marry, so there were so many disturbing cases of young priests.
With regard to the Protestant faith will you have to be aware that there are many kinds of faiths that fall under that description. Secondly, you must understand that everyone who claims to be a Christian can not necessarily be Christian. Some people have the false misconception that going to church on Sunday, automatically become a Christian. Wrong! When all is said and done there are some very well be called upon Christians to be headed directly to hell. Just going to church on Sundays is not enough. One thing is to sit and listen to the word of God, but if a person does not live the word of God, then it is all in vain. I congratulate him on his spiritual quest and keep him in my prayers. Most churches have some kind of Bible study during the week. My advice to you would be to visit different churches and sit in some of their Bible studies. However, the Bible says beware of false prophets, and unfortunately there are ministers who are there to manipulate and deceive the people of God. If you attend a church that seems to be too obsessed with money, then my advice to you would be out of there as fast as you can. For example, if you attend a Bible study and pass the collection plate about tithes and offerings, which is a good indication to find another church. Tithes and offerings collected at the service Sunday morning. A church does not have to call tenders for the study of the Bible. Some churches also try to make people feel guilty that is not enough. What you have to remember is that the amount is not to give, but giving your heart God loves a cheerful giver. Once again I congratulate you and are praying for you. Peace and God bless.
You are beginning an interesting and important search. And this search has to rely on the Bible, if you're really interested in being in God's love. The same search that I was ……. until someone, now a dear friend called to my door and offered to study the Bible with me.
But before I tell you the rest of the story, perhaps I should give you some background. I was raised as a Catholic - alter boy, confirmation, confession, etc. In fact, I went to a Catholic school. My break with Catholism began when I was young, but I did not realize at the time. I took a Bible with me to school - a gift from my mother and I was proud of it. I showed to the priest of our parish - and he asked me 'what do you expect to do with this? I told him I was going to read it, and told me that it was not necessary, because I teach what they believe. And that was not polite in that regard, either. To this day, because I was so embrassed by the event (in front of my friends), I have no idea what happened to the Bible.
In Scribd.com see: Bible possession Once banned by the Catholic Church! - Take your time to read carefully, and learn that the biggest enemy is the Roman Catholic Church is the Holy Bible.
Years later, a friend gave me another Bible - King James Study Bible, which I still have and use occasionally. In the Bible, over a period of perhaps 15 years, I myself clensed of most "things" he had learned from my association with Catholics. Such as;
Matthew 6:7 But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, like the people of the nations do, because guess who has a hearing on use of many words.
In the King James, 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions as the heathen do: because they think they will be heard for their much speaking.
ROSSARY say? Saying the same things over and over and …. like the pagans do …… because they think it will be heard much of her? I did mention that the Catholic Church really has no preference for the Bible in the hands of the people? - And this was just one of many, many things I found in the Bible that went directly against the teachngs of the Roman Catholic Church.
So I started looking …. and watching ….. and looking …. and all they found was confusion. Why? Becaue looked every where, any name check, all of which use heated more teachings of the Catholic Church. Such as the trinity. And the cross. E idols. And the refusal to use the name of God Almgihty well.
In Scribd.com see, How to develop the doctrine of the Trinity?

After more than 25 years of confusion, and finding and reading the Bible, I was ready to resign. And then came that fateful day when my good friend Gary called my door …. asked a fateful question, do you like to study the Bible with me?
I'm not a hypocrite. Study the Bible. I was and am interested in learning more about it, because there seems to be able to get what I needed it on my own. I said yes. And we started. And it took a year to begin to understand. Why? Because I was still dealing with my distaste for organized religion and what they had learned about the most heated of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
I did mention that my friend was a Jehovah's Witness? He told me that now, but it does not mean much to me because I had never been around it before. I really did not care, it was an opportunity to study the Bible, and it's free. I liked it, not stuck for cash on hand …… it is biblical;
1 Corinthians 9:18 What then is my reward? States that although the good news that can bring the good news, at no cost, so that I may not abuse my authority in the good news.
Matthew 10: 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, make lepers clean, expel demons. You received free, give free. 9 Do not buy gold or silver or copper belt for purses,
2 Corinthians 2:17 [We], for we are not peddlers of God's word like so many men, but as of sincerity, even as an envoy of God, in view of God, in company with Christ, we are talking about.
For we are not peddlers of God's word …. finally things are starting to make sense. Peddlers of God's word. How many times you ran through my head!
A year ago last Easter, I went to the celebration is held each year in the Kingdom Halls around the world. That was the first time in my life that never was a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. FIRST TIME!
In August last year, came back … and not lose because there are virtually no meetings! November 30 last year he was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness …. I have been told that it is incredibly fast. I do not know
Hi Fola, The Catholic means Roman Catholics, who are called to worship as the religion-why, because the Pope said that they believe in Christ, but the Pope has a greater power of the word of Jesus Christ, the Bible.
second major difference is that the teaching of salvation, the church and the pope can be saved and proclaimed a saint.
Christians believe that Jesus is the only savior of God is not religion or pastor. and the pope is not above Jesus in terms of salvation.
Salvation Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other … no name given under heaven whereby we must be doing save.Their salvation pagan rituals, as practices.Only proclaim Jesus Christ
means in the Bible that sinners are forgiven, because they receive Jesus as Lord and Savior in your life to God and ask forgiveness from the heart. By faith that God is with you and in return you give your life given to him.
Being a Protestant in a Catholic high school i can help a little here. Protestants are more people who are like Jesus saved me, and if I think I am saved, joy and energy in the Church is based entirely on the amount of faith and praise the person gives to God, and Jesus Christ things they have done for them. Catholics follow another idea, you have to confess your sins to a priest because the priest forgive your sins. (Although as Protestants who do not believe in the need, as Jesus has forgiven you) do a lot of Catholic practices of the Bible. But (but offend anyone) I do not agree with the prayer to Mary, and Hail Mary, because God, in my opinion should be the only one worthy of praise. I will admit that Mary was a great person, not the sin they have committed throughout his life. But I think Adam and Eves sin's curse to mankind had been given to her because no one born after receiving the original sin of Adam and Eve. Catholics have 7 more books than Protestants in the Bible. (or the Apocrypha Canonical deuteric) Basically, the original of the Bible was written in the books, and the Septuagint (Greek Canon lists of books of the Bible ") came along, people who created the assertion 7 that the Septuagint books of the Apocrypha was not written by God's word or something, I do not know if that is true, but it had something to do with something like that. So I left out, then the Protestants and Catholics had a conflict and the Protestants decided to use the Septuagint as the canon in place of the original. I must say that there really is no real hatred between the two, is just what some people think and what others think or how to interpret the Bible. Catholic High School i go up to about 60% Protestant (mostly Lutheran "nondenominational am i ') 40% Catholic and there is the argument happens to everyone. We all go to church once a week, the protesters not to participate in some of the ceremonies, while Catholics do. But the point is no matter what Christian denomination you are, you are still a Christian, and we are united by our belief in God.
Sorry for such a long rant, i have nothing else to do
It's really sad that the various factions of Christianity are not better. The early church was warned that some people who teach false doctrines, and cause problems.
Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity were united by almost 1000 years, being a Church that is responsible for the collection of books called the Bible. Later, groups such as Protestants do not believe what they taught the early church and is in his holy book, and actually took some of the books of the Bible. Both Roman Catholics and Orthodox believe these lessons later to be some "problems" they warned. Get your teaching groups that brought us the Bible, and they understand very well.
Roman Catholics and Orthodox have some differences about who is supposed to be in charge of the Church, and some doctrinal teachings as purgatory that the Orthodox do not believe, but are closer to the belief in one another to Protestantism.
Most of the world's Christians are Catholic or Orthodox, Catholics are the largest follow the Orthodox.
I can only tell you about my journey from Catholic to Protestant to Catholic again. In short everything that I read in the Bible about the Eucharist and the discovery of the Catholic Church was very clear about his understanding of this doctrine and that the Protestant understanding is untenable. New study confirms that early Christians were very understanding about the nature of the Eucharist as the Catholic Church and is the opposite of Protestant opinion. As I studied other topics including follow this pattern. If you wanted to keep the truth the choice was clear.
God calls you to your truth.
no sorry. but I am so sorry to hear that everything is taking his opinion and not based on the words of Holy God. Quote "There is something about me that Catholics seem more" give "in the sense that indeed the salvation of Jesus. They are loving, helpful and are more traditional. " End quote.
What makes you think that Catholics actually bring salvation Jesus? because they recite the rosary and pray to the saints? because eating meat and drinking the blood of Jesus Christ?
Make sure that does not mean anything in particular about the salvation of his soul. Jon 2:9 But I will sacrifice to thee with the voice of thanksgiving, I will pay that that I have promised. Salvation is the Lord.
Pro 14:12 There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but at the end thereof are the ways of death.
Pro 14:13 Even in laughter the heart is sad and the end of that joy is heaviness.
Before deciding to join the designation as a Christian, you may want to consider also the Orthodox Church. It is a position outside the refreshing whole Catholic vs Protestant divide and, like the Catholic Church, can trace their apostolic succession in the history, all the way back to the time of Christ. Orthodoxy is the second largest Christian denomination in the world (after Catholicism), but for some reason people always look at the whole question of Christianity as a "Protestants against Catholics." There are more Orthodox Christians in the world that all Protestant denominations (Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian … etc.) combined.
To be honest, one of the things I most treasure is to be an Orthodox Christian I can move everything out of the struggles that refers in his question about the Protestants and Catholics.
The conflicts between Catholics and Protestants are conflicts about the specific beliefs (Pope, saints, communion), not between individuals. I have many good Catholic friends and although I do not believe in what they believe, still see them as Christians (which is typical of Protestantism). My Catholic friends as I do, but according to the teaching of the church, I go to Hell (also typical of Catholic doctrine). Both of us are fine with that. I have my beliefs and respect them. They have their beliefs and respect them.
With regard to the conflicts between individuals because of other faiths, I would say that people have no idea what to do with Christianity.
You're right.
We are all human. We all make mistakes. We are all sinners. Even Paul, that Jesus did to promote the message, which led many to believe in Christ living frustrating. He regretted he did not want these things to do and not do the things I wanted to do, which was his struggle with sin. He even called himself the chief of sinners from their failures.
The main difference between Catholics and Protestants is their approach to the Bible. Protestants believe in what is in the Scriptures alone. Catholics hope the Pope to give a continued revelation of God.
Anyway, what matters is what you believe about Jesus Christ, if he is their savior, that is what matters.
Cheating is cheating, regardless of denomination.
Please learn to think for yourself.
